Dangote to Invest $2.3Billion in Sugar & Rice Production in the North

Amid concerns in the Northern part of Nigeria, Aliko Dangote has announced his decision to invest $2.3 billion in sugar and rice production in the north.

The Nigerian business mogul and Africa’s richest man, highlighted that creating job opportunities may end insurgency such as the kidnapping of the 200+ Chibok girls.

He made the announcement at the World Economic Forum in Abuja, yesterday Thursday 8th May 2014.

It shows his company – The Dangote Group‘s interests in further cementing itself in the food industry. He also said he would invest a sum of $12 billion in Nigeria and $4 billion outside the country, over the years.
