He has been identified as the son of Peter Rodger, the assistant director of The Hunger Games franchise.

Rodger launched his attack on Saturday in Santa Barbara, after revealing his plan in a Youtube video, saying he wanted revenge for being rejected.

The 22-year-old virgin also revealed plans to kill women.

The incident happened near the campus of the University of Santa Barbara.

Rodger Elliot was later found dead in his car, with self inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

A lawyer for the director, claims the family contacted police after the video was posted a few weeks ago. The family was disturbed by the video, said the lawyer, “regarding suicide and the killing of people”.

I know it was just fiction but that hunger games was just macabre . Gratuitous violence. And they scratch their heads wondering why their kids kill.

maybe girls could sense that he was a MURDERER!! i dont get it! so he killed people just because blonde girls were not interested in him? he is such an idiot! we need to start telling people that being a virgin is not a death sentence. just because u have not had sex does not mean u are less than attractive or people dont love you. it is sad that he killed all these people just because of his low self esteem.

Loneliness / depression is so dangerous. Add rage and delusion to that and the consequence is even worse. That’s the situation here. May God grant the families and friends of the departed the strength to bear this. On a side note, there are so many people in this world suffering inside because they feel they are or are treated as outcasts or total misfits. What a simple hi, hello or smile can do for the lonely…

i agree with you. being nice to people is always good because it might make them feel better about themselves. some people are really mean to other based on appearance or social status.

Can’t understand why people these days don’t value human life any longer, theirs or others. There is simply NO reason on earth to take a life. I guess only he/she who has the Holy Spirit fully dwelling in them can understand that. Really sad.

There is something about a woman’s instinct…in America if you are having trouble having a gf at 22, it’s cos the girls sense some red flags. Same way single men in their 40s scare the living shit out of me…major personality disorders bring padded with ” I just haven’t met the right woman” heck, something is wrong jare and I am not about to find out
