Olodo!! Oya explain how exactly she has turned herself into a sex worker?? Was there a part of the video that I missed where she got paid to have sex with someone? NO.Abeg go and find dictionary and know what you are saying before you come here and start making useless comments and whilst you are there might I suggest finding yourself a husband.Tiwa has her own.Its always women that do not have a man of their own that are quick to insult every other woman they see doing something just the slightest bit sensual/sexual.As if sex is a sin, mtscheww.Park well jare.

As one who has been a fan of tiwa savage right from her xfactor uk audition, to her mellow music days which made sense, even when she moved to nigeria and changed/adjusted for public approval. I hope my criticism would be taken as constructive and less vindictive as to call her a sex worker. SONG: I like. VIDEO CONCEPT: I like. OUTFIT: Would have liked if she didn’t wear it/refuse to change throughout. MOVES: Absolute no no! 90% of the time.We already have the naked illusion, we didn’t need the raising and seperating of the legss mid air. FACIAL EXPRESSIONS: More ugly faces than pretty ones. MAKEUP: 50/50. EVEN THE BODY: Very not bodacious. VIBE: Seriously trying toooo hard to be like rihanna. I don’t know if this is a conscious or subconscious doing, but with all the “luv” and well wishes I have for her I pray she stops. Just stop! Rihanna is rihanna cause she is not imitating anyone and she is in her 20’s…tiwa is in her 30’s. There should be a certain maturity and way of presenting her art, instead of a juvenile method. She should at this stage understand what works best for her. I hope even rihanna wouldn’t carry on the same way when she’s in her 30’s. All the vagina thrusting and grabbing, leg raising and seperating, naked illusion accompanied with the facial expressions, ruined what could have been a classic video to a song I already like. That not so little epistle been said, most people are still spitting remnant venom from her ” all the husbands are drooling over my body” comment she made not too long ago!lol.

    • Disappointed

      May 28, 2014 at 12:43 pm

I’ve got only one thing to say to you, Tiwa (and the crew at BN). Money can’t buy you dignity.

    • What generation???

      May 28, 2014 at 1:33 pm

Did you type this with a straight face? If THIS here makes you proud of “this generation” then I think we all need help. This is totally crass! We get it, she wants to go the Beyonce way, get married, and do the her version of Partition, she’s missing something though, at least Bey didn’t do stuff she doesn’t look good doing. This is unbecoming of Tiwa… she used to really have talent, but the need to be accepted by the Nigerian market has turned her into something else… Mshew…. She’s not even sexy! urgh

      May 28, 2014 at 10:09 am

@fifi I’m with you, and while I’m definitely not part of the ” nudity is not african” brigade, the tackiness of the outfit, shoes and moves made this ish HILARIOUS, but you could see from her face that she was taking it seriously. This video reminds me of the “sexy” video Khloe made for Lamar. How will her friends be able to look her in the eye after this. I’m blushing on her behalf. This wasn’t sexy.

    • Zero tolerance for crap

      May 28, 2014 at 4:32 pm

You are so right, the song has no lyrical content. There was nothing sexy about this video and please when will Nigerians start telling the truth about the garbage that is being feed to them.

She seemed to be struggling to ooze sexy. I don’t know if it’s just me. I love tiwa but she always comes off as trying to hard like a Beyonce wannabe. She was effortless in girlie o rmx and that’s how it should be. Bn post my comment biko.

    May 28, 2014 at 9:05 am

I believe the fact that you guys are even comparing her to Beyonce, is a huge testimony to the fact that the lady has got TALENT!! I actually like the fact that she isn’t sticking to the Nigerian mentality and pushing the boundaries as far as it can go!! Why don’t we criticize when male singers/rappers put out “Racy” videos? If you want to judge a talented individual perfecting his/her craft, please don’t make it one sided!!!

Copying just takes hard work not talent.

    • Marc Francis of Chelsea

      May 28, 2014 at 10:12 am

So disappointing how Nigerian women are the ones that enjoy tearing themselves down. “Uncalled for sexiness”? Iyanya can bring out a video where he’s oiled up and grinding on 10 girls and you people will say nothing. “A married woman” – HER HUSBAND IS HER MANAGER! Clearly if he had any issue with her sexiness he would tell her. Why are you so afraid of acting sexy? I will bet gold that it’s someone like you that will argue that women in tight dresses deserve to be raped. So over this.

    • dee

      May 28, 2014 at 2:13 pm

Like you rightly said her husband is her manager, however, I hope he wont be the downfall of her career. Nigerians as we all know are Africans and the slightest form of western entertainment never sits well with them.
No one has said Tiwa should not be sexy but please be advised sexiness has different levels and forms she definitely needs to oil her bones to achieve this for a start.
To think Tiwa was the toast of the people a while back, how things change, Tiwa kindly retrace your steps, Nigerians love change but remember it must make some sense, if you decide this is the new you then be ready for great criticism.

      May 28, 2014 at 4:28 pm

      May 28, 2014 at 4:28 pm

Annual salary? Are you dum or something. You must think everyone not in entertainment earns the chicken change these lots earn. What a silly comment. Nigerians be always judging wealth on shoes and bags .. Very little on sustainance. Remember millionaires make the most noise while billionaires remain quiet so just go and sit down somewhere.

  19. NewBride

    May 28, 2014 at 9:18 am

I think this quote from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie explains this video perfectly!!

We teach girls to shrink themselves
    To make themselves smaller
    We say to girls,
    “You can have ambition
    But not too much
You should aim to be successful
    But not too successful
Otherwise you will threaten the man.”
    Because I am female
I am expected to aspire to marriage
I am expected to make my life choices
    Always keeping in mind that
    Marriage is the most important
Now marriage can be a source of
Joy and love and mutual support
But why do we teach girls to aspire to marriage
And we don’t teach boys the same?
We raise girls to see each other as competitors
Not for jobs or for accomplishments
Which I think can be a good thing
But for the attention of men
We teach girls that they cannot be sexual beings
In the way that boys are
Feminist: the person who believes in the social
Political, and economic equality of the sexes

    • Marc Francis of Chelsea

      May 28, 2014 at 10:13 am

      Amen. I’ll add mine.

You should be sexy, but not too sexy otherwise you will threaten other women.”

    • Just an opinion

      May 28, 2014 at 10:32 am

@ Newbride…Errrr …don’t misinterpreted Chimamanda…..I don’t think her quote meant we shouldn’t have boundaries on morality and class. When u have raw talent you don’t have to resort to extremes of hoochie behavior. It’s the female equivalent of rappers who make lyrics with profanity. She is v beautiful and talented and can make as much money with her clothes on. There is more to a woman than what’s between her hips ( Maya Angelou).

Don’t send out the wrong message to young children. The western world is not our god. We don’t have to always copy them. I respect the fact that she is an artist and wants to explore but there has to be a limit. Chimamanda’s quote is talking about the other extreme. You don’t see Chimamanda herself strutting around seminude to prove a point do u? Or trying to copy western artistry?
Let’s get our priorities straight. I’m a huuuuge fan of Tiwa by the way. Very beautiful woman with the voice of a girl….

Yep, well said. Tiwa is a grown ass woman. She owns her body. Nobody but tiwa has control over her body. I don’t see why people women especially find her expression of sexiness , art whatever threatening. Tiwa has no control over what poor parenting causes. If children turn out bad it’s becos their parents have done a bad job bringing them up. Personally I didnt watch the video becos am not a fan. But I read comments and I just can’t stand the bloody hypocrisy of Nigerians.

What an extremely selfish perspective. Why do u think they say it takes a village to raise a child? The society has every right to have and demand standards for it’s children by encouraging good role models. This Panadol for someone else’s headache comment must stop because if it’s publicized then it’s now everyone’s headache. Don’t undermine the power of societal influence. It’s because of this mentality from people like u that the society is messed up. The every man for himself mentality. What a shame.

      2. The body stocking…tacky as shit. Why are the seams visible biko? Hian

She’s doing the absolute most. Most of her moves made no sense and look pretty stupid and dumb. The video quality and mixing of the song and the song overall was so flawless though. Her voice was beautiful. But her grabbing her vagina and slick trying to do some illuminati crap is stupid. The video was dumb. And i’m annoyed. She could still have done something sexy and risque, but let it be tasteful. She looked like a hoe.

I am sorry for insulting your hubby, I truly apologise. I felt bad at work. I disapprove of the video and I feel your husband/manager should have been more critical of the content and the image you are trying to portray. What is your brand? I showed this to a caucasian colleague and I was embarrassed. It showed black women as they are used to being portrayed, sexual objects. What’s the point, there’s so much sweet love to be sung about, especially being newly wed…look at Etta James, Nina Simone…this song/video won’t last the tide of time. You have such a beautiful voice, a strong classical voice.
In terms of making money, due to your age, marital status, classical beauty…I think your target audience should be judiciously oriented, as in my understanding is that there is a lot of money to be made on the wedding circuits, and singing to fat spoilt politicians. There is enough emotional content in corrupt, painful Nigeria – I think Celine, Barbara, even Mary J Blige, she does respectful emotion. Even when talking about loving…however, I apologise for my earlier uncouthed and hurtful remark

      May 28, 2014 at 10:03 am

Oooo shatapppp! Since when did being educated mean that everyone must agree with Tiwa’s choices?

    • truthfulsoul

      May 28, 2014 at 10:36 am

Hey Educated Bros! Its a ‘free’ world. Everyone is entitled to their views. Just like you. And yes, I am an educated (Home and Abroad) Nigerian. The thing with the video is not specific to Tiwa. It is the fact that in this world, sex sells. The video is racy. Oh yes it is! Even BN said it. So if people do not like things or videos being racy, they should not say it abi? Because people like you and Lulu feel like they should shut up or keep their views to themselves? Oh what a world!

Madam Lulu, next time something you see something/video you do not like, please do not cast a stone (or comment) else it would be seen as you passing a judgment.

Its unfortunate where our morals have gone. There is a thin line between freedom and madness. We are slowly approaching the edge of madness.

    • Truth

      May 28, 2014 at 8:59 pm

@truthfooool soul. The caption said racy? Abi. Wetin fall your hand. Abi you ‘wanted it’ as the song suggest. Abeg get back in your aptly labeled box. Yeye fowl. You want to give critical analysis. Ok go and finish analysing all the porn movies u really, really don’t want to watch. Close that hypocrisy box after u get in, Joor.

I dare you to put up your educational qualifications and some of us will do same. Verifiable qualifications of course and we will see the basis for that warped assumption of yours.
Since when did voicing a reasonable opinion on Tiwa’s music and videos equate to a lack of education?

    • Nkem

      May 31, 2014 at 9:08 pm

Education has everything to do with it. Everything. It said it said RACY video. You had to CLICK to watch it. The video did not come and assault you. If you had some level of education you would understand what the video stood for and keep clear away from it. Now you come here screaming about your stupid eyes being infected. Pluck them out and rinse them in cold water. Anyway I don’t blame some people all the education in the world cannot root out the level of some people’s poverty damaged mentality. FREE thing dey purge.

    • Nkem

      May 31, 2014 at 9:22 pm

In fact mr idak, what was ur educated guess before u clicked to view a racy video. Were you expecting to see local choir women from your village. Please get out all your qualifications and try and convince yourself that that u actually merit them. Ewu calabar

LOOOOOOOL OMG I’M CRYING. Woow those shoes ? Reminds me of my sunday school teacher when I was so young. Yellow Kitten heals on brown ?And for the sake of laughter, you can pause your laptop at 2:49 and see the face..LOOOOOOOL.

Nah, this is not the first thing I should be seeing in the morning. So distasteful. To think I was like yassss some semi-nudes are about to come my way. Who doesn’t like such ? Seyi Shay and Niyola, please pick up this challenge (I love you ladies). Never thought there would be a day where looking at Tiwa Savage would make Maheeda struck my mind. But like they say, never say never… Tiwa Savage > Maheeda.

I don’t see anything wrong in this act itself, whether she is an African woman or she just got married or not. She is a grown woman and she can do what she wants, especially as she is going to be getting all the attention she wants in the next couple of days. BUT my problem is how it is done. Anyway practice makes perfect..she’ll get it one day and would eventually start channeling surfboard style and maybe with a good song like Drunk in Love ? I believe in you Tiwayonce. Tiwa aka Shakira/Beyonce/Rihanna.

It’s not all negative. Sincerely,if this is the real Tiwa Savage… then i love the fact that you are doing YOU. This is what they call “I do not give a damn” and I love it. Go girl !

    • ck

      May 28, 2014 at 2:18 pm

Thank you, someone finally shares my opinio. No problem if she wants to be naked, whether she just got married, whether she’s african etc. For me the problem is
      – The suit is tacky – but lets say it wasnt that bad
      – The shoe is a joke
      – Facial expression, the eye lashes all are laughable – but in naija, these things happen
Truth is, all these things i mentioned could be improved, but for naija market let’s say it 6/10 and thats with eminado being 9.5/ 10 and maheeda being 4/10.
      – Now for me the biggest joke is the fact that they actually think we nigerians want to watch a skinny tiwa, with weird sexy face, poor quality costume, weird shoe, and poor sexy movements for a total of 4 whole minutes … really? They couldn’t save us by adding some other scenes/ people to it. I wont knock Tiwas hussle cos everyone is allowed to do as they wish, she is also one of the top female in music in naija and a hardworking girl, but…. girl, you are not popular, sexy or wanted enough to think you can make a video of just yourself and still capture our attention.

difference between music and ‘the biz’

Wow…my own opinion of this video: outfit-Zero, Song- not bad, dance moves- i like, raciness- okay, without that outfit and shoe (makes her look way too trashy) Tiwa is slowly moving from classy to trashy. Please Tiwa stay focused. Looks like she is under a lot of pressure from herself to remain relevant in the game. Nice video but the outfit is a no for me, makes me ashamed for her. Worst i have seen of her.

Let’s be honest Tiwa was, and is far more appealing as the sweet , sexy, starlet as portrayed in eminado.

What is wrong with her? Why is she behaving like a sexual savage? With all the crap that is going on in Nigeria this is what she chooses to use her platform for? Next she will be screaming #BringBackOurGirls. Bring them back for what? So that you can teach them how gyrate there vagina at the camera to the whole nation? It’s so sad, Nigerian women used to pride themselves by being different to the western world. Acting with dignity and respect and always understanding that their are just some things that we NIGERIAN women do not do. Now all of a sudden some of you Nigerians want to be oyinbo by force, with your weaves and naked selves roaming the street. Suddenly its cool for a woman to smoke, get a tattoo, walk around naked, appear half, (no 3/4) naked in TV and suddenly being gay is cool and the God of moses would accept and want Gay marriage? Y’all are all mad. KMT Tiwa should play this video in the privacy of her own home to her husband and daughter (if she has one, or when she has one), she should not blind the rest of us. And what makes this worse she does not have the body for it, no ass, no hips…Not beyonce honey, even Kim K pass you on the body level so why the excitement to strip naked. You do not have true friends or family. If they saw you do this and said nothing, they do not love you or respect you. Sitting by watching you disrespect yourself like that? Bella Naija young audience take note, this is not the way to go and this is not cool. Real men do not go for this, and real women do not have to show all to be sexy.

There’s a market for this video so telling her to perform for her husband and daughter because you don’t want to see it is a no no. Ignore it next time if you’ll be offended. And for those in support of this video, what would you do if this was a video of your daughter or wife? Let’s not close our eyes to the truth, he who has ears let him hear. We have heard enough people killing themselves just because of issues stemming from sexuality!

      May 28, 2014 at 10:25 pm

Na God go bless you a billion fold. Utter nonsense. Even if you want to copy the western world, copy the positive and not what is frowned upon by westerners themselves. Disgusting. Went to Nigeria recently and was appealed at the moral decadence. What couldn’t be done openly and was greatly frowned upon is now celebrated. Shame on you lot. Instead of you to better yourselves, and stand out from the filth, you’re joining them.

I have struggled to see the talent in this girl. She should be paying royalty to the inventors of autotune.
I bought her album and struggled to find three tracks worth keeping.
However, you can’t knock her hustle. Wishing her the best.

Three tracks: Ileke, Olorun mi, and … probably one more.
There was some crap, crappy crap in there too.
But the video, in my view, is not as bad as I would have expected. And this song too, not as bad as I expected from Tiwa when I heard the album. But like I always say, so much good music out there, why bother with the worst of the pack? So much good music in Naija mannn, even if they’re not winning the mama awards or whatever thrash.

    May 28, 2014 at 10:45 am

Yesterday, Regina Askia Williams was demanding respect for the women folk and i said what is in the quote below. How can men respect women with this type of video? See Tiwa showing sex skills towards the end of the video. If any man watches this, what comes to his mind when he sees a girl outside there?

    Women judge for yourself o

    Where should we start?

We have to start from the women! People only see you the way you carry yourself! If you want your friends to respect your sister/brother/parent, respect them yourself and your friends will respect them for you. You cant be insulting your parent infront of your friends and expect that your friends will respect them.

In other words, we start from the women. Respect can’t be forced on anyone, it has to be earned overtime by showing what quality you are made of alongside your morals and values.

Let the women stop wearing “see-through” dresses
Let the women stop suggesting that they are sex slaves
Let the women stop dancing for men in albums and music videos, naked
Let the women stop portraying themselves to men that all it is about them is what they have on their bodies
Let the women stop dressing half naked and showing all their curves
Let the women leave the streets (whistling, holding, beckoning to men driving to come get them)
Let the women know that there is more to life than money – thereby eradicating what they do cos of money
Let the women stop opening their legs for lecturers to get grades (When none does, no lecturer will have the effrontery to ask another girl. When others do, why wont he ask another girl?)
Let the women stop being side chicks to married men when hey know he is married
Let the women stop fighting themselves thereby belittling them before men
Let the women stop depending on a man for everything (including pants, bras, recharge card and other menial things) which changes the perception of the men
Let the women have self confidence, struggle for their own success rather than being gold diggers everywhere
Let the women respect themselves and the men will respect them.

Assuming the men are whatever name we want to call them, two wrongs can never make a right, the only starting point is to start from the women.

Respect for women cant be forced on the men, let the women change the orientation, perception and view point the males have about them”

ROFL! Tiwatope Jeminat Savage-Balogun. So this is what it has come to, half naked Rihanna/Beyonce/J-Lo tinz at 33 years of age….in Nigeria. It isn’t easy. If this is the path you choose and your “progressive” husband agrees, my own is to switch the channel when it comes on. Sell that “sex” appeal, make that moolah.
I will say this though, I believe in freedom of expression, and am a feminist but this is some BS right here. There’s so much room for creativity, so much room for dynamism, and she takes this cheap, cliche route. I don’t wanna see you writhing on the floor like a malformed snake with 5 bundles of EurasianBrazoPeruMongolish hair on her head. I want to hear her voice which is beautiful, and see artistry. But hey..she’s wanted by our husbands and boyfriends, hunh? The delusion is real. Isokay.

you guys should consider the whole thing first from the music angle. Did it meet the mark in terms of good music. beyonce is a talented musician with the voice of an angel and can get away with anything. I think copying their style is just tacky. If she wanted to bring sex appeal she should have been more original in her approach. Otherwise it’s just another plagiarized video of wannabe artists.

Love the video production, the song delivery too is nice. I wish she changed outfits on different scenes instead of over flogging the skin tone tights, but still loved it. Some moves were dodgy looking like her leg up on the truck, it didn’t give her body a flattering angle.

We see Beyonce and Rihanna do such videos, we judge them, but they’re still sexy and we still like the videos. I don’t see why we are so hypocritical when Africans do the same videos. It was a nice video and I like it. Kudos to Tiwa and everyone should stop hating.

Tiwa, you get an A for effort. Sadly, your sexy didn’t look effortless. For the most part it was rather… Clumsy. Especially at the car scenes. When you raised your leg, the bumper of the car was too high for the sensual look you were going for.
And as for the makeup artist, a big ZERO. The makeup did not capture the sex kitten you were trying to be 🙁 … the lip colour most especially. Don’t worry, soon enough your sexy moves will be seamless

  63. nonye

    May 28, 2014 at 11:46 am

hmmmm…. I watched the video, I didn’t think it was too racy. She has worked hard on her body so somehow she didn’t look overtly revealing.
But somehow there was a disconnect between the gyrations and Tiwa herself. It sort of felt like she didn’t really feel sexy from within; and please this has nothing to do with the gyrations or the body stocking. If you doubt that please see a clear example in Erykah Badu, video or stage, whether she is dressed in her afrocentric caftans or full-length pinafore and apron, there is just something about that woman. I think Tiwa still needs to find herself or something.

All in all I applaud Tiwa’s endeavour to reinvent herself and attempt to push the envelope. Not entirely my taste, but not all art speaks to everyone.

SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY WE NIGERIANS HAVE TO GIVE OURSELVES A REALITY CHECK. Tiwa, I’m sorry, but you will not break records or make headlines with these sort of videos. Many have already beat you to it. Ask Miley, Lady Gaga, Cossy, Kim K, Maheeda, Strippers, hoes…the list is endless. What is wrong with you?? I had so much hope for the Nigerian Music scene. What happened to the days of Yori Yori, Oleku, Funmilola, African Queen, Oliver Twist, Do me I do You, Obianuju ….when we had something UNIQUE to offer the rest of the World and THEY ACTUALLY STOPPED AND LISTENED TRANSFORMING THE NIGERIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY TO ONE OF THE FASTEST GROWING AND MOST LUCRATIVE IN THE WORLD IN LESS THAN A DECADE??? Then we served up our own hybrid mix of Western Hiphop (which most young, urbanised/culturally exposed cannot help but be influenced by to some degree) jazzed up with an authentic and vibrant African beat. I remember feeling SO PROUD when walking down to my local Sainsbury in the ULTRA DEAD VILLAGE OF DARTFORD (in kent, England in case you are wondering) and I almost got knocked down by this old English Pensioner blaring Dbanj’s Oliver Twist as he sped by on his convertible (yes, I barely escaped with soul and body intact but still…Nigerian music was going places and not just among us Nigerians/Africans). …Then Aunty Tiwa puts on this dry ass outfit and contorts her face while she produces some basic sex moves and calls it a music video….sorry hun. The same people who might have rooted for you in Eminado and Oyi Na Tu mo with Flavour will just yawn and say “BLACK NIGRESS REVERTS TO TYPE”

AS FOR YOU GUYS SUPPORTING HER…….THUNDER FIRE YOUR BRAIN CELLS.

LASTLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY. THE PRICE OF JIK REMAINS UNCHANGED

God bless you for this my brother. God bless you a million and one times. I honestly cannot explain or understand what is wrong with Tiwa Savage. Her fans are saying after all she smiles to the bank, oh yes! she does what what happens to dignity and respect? Only very few of those in the music industry are ready to make money in the ”decent” way, some of them are willing to port to the scandalous areas just to remain relevant. Am sure her friends Toolz and CO. wont tell her the truth.
Tiwa I hope you have a very smart son or daughter in the nearest future who would turn to you on a saturday afternoon and say ”mummy what were you doing here?’.
Our actions today determines our future Tiwa, stop thinking about the fat account and fame, think about your future, that of your future family, the young girls that look up to you and the Nigerian music industry at large. xx

Tiwa’s camp is definitely all over this comment section.lol. All these new names stanning for her hard.

Me i have no problem with women (Nigerian or not) exuding sex appeal….but anty tiwa has none to exude. The video made me chuckle, and the jump suit was tacky, and did nothing for her body shape. Some of the struggle “sexy” dance moves were hella funny. She’s obviously trying to evolve as an artist should, but her sex appeal is zero and the faces she was making were funnier than seductive.

you are right, there is nothing wrong is expressing your sexiness. Infact if its there you wont need to try too hard to show it. Tiwa needs to find what her “IT Factor” is and stick to it. For instance, Ara and Temi Dollface can do quirky even without trying, they know their area and stick to it. Tiwa needs to find herself. She is not an Eartha Kitt type sex kitten. She obviously worked very hard on this video but it came across as acting… and not the best type

she should have got choreographed movies, if it looks good in her head it might not look good in person. That thing where she was slapping her hips on the floor NO!

the water scene is trash her hair No

all those movies especially the gun and waggling tongue no that’s rih. No one said no to copy but have your own originality.

I didn’t feel no sex appeal no racy video nothing just laughter and a wtf face.

It has not got that time when over-sexulaity should sell music videos in Nigeria,, especially as there aren’t many female singers up there for the youth.

We know Toke for example was a bed hopper, and it worked for her, because from day 1, she had been good at that trade….Tiwa, this is not your line…joo…plus the video too dey tacky…

So Ms. Savage made a racy video, well thats all it is, RACY!!! Is it creative and do the lyrics speak to you in anyway?
So she says she is ‘Wanted’ but all the scenes and angles that should make the men want you, the director is far away. The outfit, i believe it was chosen so that comments like Tiwa is completely nuts wont arise, but it didnt help cos it did look tacky, weird and uncomforatble.
Nice dance moves, should have been more subtle and slow, that way you would ooze sex appeal better. A water scene/location would probably have been nicer than the deserted space but i guess you tried to take another route.
In terms of the song, for a first time, it hasnt caught on, the infusion of reggae and rnb wasnt too shabby, so kudos to you on that.
In all, i wouldnt dwell on the video, the song would mos def be played in the car.

So for your sex appeal and racy video(i cant call it an attempt, shes been doing it for a bit) you get a 4.5/10.

Hopefully Tiwa is able to handle the criticism. Some of it is rough though. She and her team may have worked hard on it but it didn’t feel authentic. I just watched the Ife Gbona video and she looked so beautiful there. And its not just because she was dressed decently and in African attire but because she was obviously really feeling it from within and was extremely comfortable in her skin.

Then again! Artistes need to understand their audience. A lot of us just may not agree with this type of video, so nobody should be surprised if it is met with opposition.

finally..someone that is thinking correctly, the people around her are very wicked..no one said she shouldnt show sex appeal cos that is what sells these days, she should be classy about it, look at Queen B for one, that outfit was horrible, it looked really cheap and all that touching, she should have choreographed something or be creative, I just laughed all through the video…it just seemed like she was trying too hard

NIGERIANS!!!!!!! We will never change, the woman is expressing herself and I am sure just to please the hypocrites she’s been keeping her sexiness under wraps so that the whole world won’t be up her arse talking about being a role model, how she won’t find a husband etc. She is talented and i think the song is tight, and she got you talking, you all played the video, you will download the song and it automatically becomes one of the most talked about records for the season. Let her be herself biko. If beyonce wore pant and bra sef you will won’t be up her arse like this, is Shakira or Rhianna did this who you be all over her like leprosy is it because she is NIGERIAN???? She’s doing her thing and remaining relevant…. appreciate her music, either way she’s making her money.

Stop screaming abeg. Some of us don’t care for the raciness(i for one don’t). However it wasnt executed right. The point some are trying to make is that she has no sex appeal to display and the body suit was not flattering. The sexiness she’s trying to show looks really forced, and comical; that is more of the issue than the raciness.

It is really sad that the beauty and conservative nature we Africans are well known to have is now thrown into the air. How can a married woman be shaking her assets and acting like this? Western people are getting sick of Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian. We now crave for modesty in the west instead of women acting like this. This is not our culture o! Tiwa omo Yoruba ni e O! See fee-dio!
It’s bold. The wardrobe is interesting. I feel gratified to finally understand the exact shape of Tiwa’s body. And she danced. I really thought she couldn’t dance. Sometimes it was unattractive (there’s that hustle hustle love me love me move) but mostly it was nicey dancey. Not a fan of the artiste, but this is a decent work. Decent video. Ok song. I’d expected a terrible laughable mess, to be honest. And the song, when I heard it on the album, was a pleasant surprise, because again I’d expected a big mess, instead it was not bad.

Lots of people, like me, are in a backlash against fake, lame, Beyonce-ness, Tiwa-ness, all that. Of course, you can’t try to explain it to them, but it’s there: their software’s faulty. They have dumb values. They spread some dumb beliefs. Their popularity is a little unfortunate as a result. We would rather appreciate good music, positivity, truth, beauty, etc. And there is so much talent that is also good out here in Naija, like wow, there is so much good music that there’s no need to bother with bad. Power to the movement!

I love the song but wasn’t fond of this video. The makeup is terrible, the bodysuit was ill-fitting, though I think they intentionally showed the seams so some ignorant people won’t say she’s naked, the shoes could’ve been better and the dancing needs some work but at the end of the day, it is her choice. When she did “love me” video people called it a sex tape, now I see people calling her a ho for this. How is she a ho though? She doesn’t sleep around for money, she is married and her husband approves.

Some cultures in Nigeria permit a husband to offer his wife as a gift to visitors, for sex, some mandate the wife to marry her brother in law upon the husband’s demise, we are so diverse as a nation it’s hard to really say what the culture or tradition is. Different strokes for different folks. Personally there is being sexy and confident in one’s self and this is very different from being sexy to whore yourself. I know for a fact that tiwa isn’t a whore so she is allowed to do what she wants. If this affects her fan base or endorsements then she will live with her decisions.if she is a bad influence to your children then close their eyes to anything tiwa related. I don’t think watching this video will make a child wayward and I am yet to see a little girl ask to be dressed in a leotard but for the women complaining, why is it that at every children’s party, little girls are so scantily dressed, and parents cheer when their daughters emerge best dancer for gyrating and twerking? Our children will be what we teach them to be. Let tiwa express herself how she deems fit and you do you. If it’s not tiwa it will be someone else. If you choose not to be a fan anymore all well as good but don’t condemn her for her choices.

Honestly, I think people are blowing it out of proportion. Yes, the video could have been so much better but it’s not that bad. Calling her a slut, ode etc when some of you commit correct -. I’m not a Tiwa fan, never have been & prolly never will be. But I don’t think she deserves this kind of backlash.

    1. It’s so sad that this is what Nigerian music has turned into. Fela and Pa. David Olaiya will be ashamed. Even Fela had semi nude girls when he performed but at least he still had the music. Nigerian songs don’t even have content anymore, music is a weapon and those who have an opportunity to use this weapon are misusing it by forming sexy and all this serenre. You can use music to effect change in Nigeria but NO! everybody must see and hear how classless you are.

    2. biko don’t bring that whole Beyonce and Rihanna rubbish into this convo. I think saying is someone is doing it so it’s fine for everybody to do it is as low as we can get in justifying our acts. Beyonce and Rihanna are not Nigerians so what they choose to do themselves is not a reflection of the Nigerian society. However, what Tiwa does is a direct reflection of our society and my dear I will not sit and watch some copycat tarnish whatever is left of our image as Nigerian women.

    3. To gbogbo eyin Aunty mi shouting feminism, I really don’t know how that fits into this discussion. I believe in economic, social and political equality for women in the sense that we shouldn’t be treated like doormats but that doesn’t imply that we should lose all sense of respect and dignity. How will men not treat you like an object that should be threaded upon when you act like one? The problem with some feminists and those saying that the fact that Tiwa is married is irrelevant is that we forget that we as women, future wives and mothers occupy a very crucial and delicate role in the society. We are biologically and psychological made to nurture and build people up when we neglect these roles or see them as trivial and unimportant we leave a huge gap in the natural order of things.

Woman, wife, kitchen. That your ceiling of attainment. If you are happy with that my dear stay in it. Let others live in the present day. No harm done. I agree that criticisms should be conveyed in a respectable manner but there is a price to pay for being in the spot light. if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. it’s good to see that some people on here still remember where they are coming from. I have a feeling this video was made and targeted at a foreign audience and not necessarily Nigerians.

Maybe it has something to do with her recent VMA (I don’t remember, VMA abi na MTV) nomination . She’s trying to make herself appeal to a wider audience

Truth be told, it’s exactly what the world wants and if that’s the path Tiwa wants to tow I can only stand and wave her farewell because I can’t be a fan of this.

Some Nigerians at the best of times can be very hypocritical and judgemental.
Some of the comments here clearly show shallow mindedness and lack of understanding of music entertainment as an art. If this was Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Rihanna or some American Artist Nigerians will hail her and big up the video not minding if the song itself is crap! But this is our own Tiwa Savage doing her thing doing what Madonna had done a million times over and what do we get from some hypocrite narrow minded people the usual name calling sex worker and so on!
When will Nigerians learn to appreciate what they have? Tiwa Savage you go girlfriend you are point baby!

Keep going and you will soon pose naked. The world will talk about you that moment and it will be over in no time.

Why do you think Miley keeps going and going. Nobody has talked about her in recent times and soon she will want the attention again and go farther towards the end.

Please stop being so harsh guys. Its not easy being someone in the public eye always having to push the envelope to stay relevant. Its a tough industry and Tiwa is only trying to stay on top of things. Turn on the TV and you’ll see this sort of art everywhere. Yes, things could have been done a little better (as with most things in life) but at the end of the day no one is perfect. Give her a break; we are all entitled to our opinions but all the excessive criticism and insult is unnecessary. How can we progress as a people if we are constantly bringing each other down? Lets try to be kind.

Beautiful Tiwa… She seems to be trying too hard to get back at her critics in this video. She kinda ruined it with all those beyonce/rihanna moves and facial expressions.

People need to ask themselves ‘ if I saw this video elsewhere and it wasn’t Tiwa Savage in it would I like it?’. Because it is Tiwa a lot of people are ready to jump to her defense but the truth is that it is not a very well edited video and a lot of the moves look very forced. Like she didn’t even ask a choreographer to help design a routine, she just came from the front of her mirror and started shooting.
And for Tiwa herself, as a career move this just might be career suicide. How do you build on this in terms of your brand progression. Granted people are buzzing about you today but what about after today? Will you shoot another more racy video? Also, this pretentiousness that Nigerians have that make us look conservative also extends to brand managers and brands so your endorsements might be at risk.
Probably this was an attempt to prove that she was still the sexy star even after marriage but there’s a thin line between sexy and trashy and I think that line was blurred in this video

My own beef is that the video is not sexy at all. It s straight up tacky. She lost wight for the video…she should have toned up and show more curves. She looks like a friggin middle school girl playing dress up in a cat suit. Epic fail. Not raunchy enough to be controversial but poor execution

This is art for art sake. I don’t understand why this video should define her. She’s an artist for goodness sake, the music industry is business she’s in it to make money. I mean how many of your have even bought a single one of her CDs. So why should it matter to her what the funk you think. When guys premiere their videos with loads of raunchy, barely dressed women literally grinding their crotches onto them notting in said. But when a sister is doing it for herself you all cry out. Always trying to control women’s sexuality, either by using questionable culture, or religion. Some even circumcise their women. The most underdeveloped countries in the world are those that shackle their women. And can someone please answer the question on why Nigeria has the 2nd highest HIV rate in the world. Did Tiwa cause that too. Or maybe in Nigeria it is transmitted by mosquitoes. Nobody in the whole world sees Nigerians as morally up right people. Research , evidence stats speak for themselves, so let’s stop being self deluded and teach your children safe sex instead of buring your heads in the sand. Leave Tiwa alone. Or please don’t . Your comments are giving her free publicity. She’d have to pay a lot for the publicity you guys are giving her for Free.

Please go and rest. I don’t know how Nigeria’s HIV rates can come into this thread. Plus who is trying to control any woman’s sexuality? Please think before you type.

Chisel you made a very good point. You 2 self righteous retards need to get yourselves tested. You’ll sound dumb. Last time I checked that virus is spread by dumb, self righteous hypocrite Hence the 1: 3 stats. Do the maths. Dumb skulls.

Voltron Soji, no need for insults – “You 2 self righteous retards need to get yourselves tested. You’ll sound dumb. Last time I checked that virus is spread by dumb, self righteous hypocrite Hence the 1: 3 stats. Do the maths. Dumb skulls.”

If you are soo educated and enlightened, how could you possibly allude to the fact that the HIV virus is only spread through sexual intercourse? And how does that even come into play in a conversation about a music video being too distasteful? Did you stop for a moment to think that the virus is spread in other ways outside intercourse? No, I’m quite sure you didn’t based on your response. The fact that you were unable to pass your message across without resorting to name-calling says A LOT about your ability to process information as an adult. Unfortunately, this is one of the problems Nigeria is facing today and you are obviously a major contributor. As I said earlier, do Nigerians a favour and kindly think before you type. Thanks.

I don’t like Tiwas art, I kinda find her childlike voice irritating. Dats just me sha. But I have to agree with the fact that most Nigerians are a bunch of double standard hypocrites. I kinda like the fact that Tiwa had the guts to do her thing, sexy, sassy, tacky whatever. I think she’s bold and to me , that’s what makes a person an individual. Tiwa you’ve got yourself a new fan.

    May 29, 2014 at 11:29 am

Tiwa Savage just a few points which I would call honest no nonsense feedback
    1) If you want to be really original and a pace setter in Nigeria, Start with your music. It s absolute trash in that your supposed album.
    2) Your makeup in this video, Fire that artist. What is it with your lipliner??It is meant to frame your lips not show that it is there or contrast you lips. Lip liner lines!!!!! Please!!! You do this all the time!! You lipstick didn’t suit you, you did the same in the Girlieo video in that hides black dress and cheap jewelry. You have to stop trying to be big and acting small with your clothing and jewelry.
    3) Your supposed bodysuit was definitely made in Alaba Market. Please consult Emmy for better styling. Almost going naked and saying you are not naked is utterly foolish. If you want to be naked, be naked well!! Then that trashy thing did nothing for your figure. You looked like you just lost weight but you are far from toned and attractive. Please get a better trainer.
    4) Your shoes are performing shoes for the stage. Beyonce wears it for performances but not in her videos. Please copy with sense!
    5) Your expressions were the worst! Like what??? If these are the actual faces you make and your husband tells you it is sexy please he is blindly in love. You looked like you wanted to take a dump!
    6) Don’t fall for the any publicity is good publicity. This is extremely bad publicity and yes you would get many views but best believe you have become a joke! If you got it right there would be no issues but you didn’t! Infact any brand that makes you an ambassador be sure I am boycotting it. That being said I am porting to glo today! Please MTN cut Tiwa Off, she just diminished your brand…Pepsi I beg you do the same!!

I know this is showbiz but I keep wondering where do artistes like Tiwa draw the line? Being a wife and hopefully a mother in the near future? The song is beautiful alright but couldn’t she have been a little decent? a teeny weeny little bit? oh well, what do I know.

Word of advice Tiwa,I know deep down somewhere you wish you could have done this ‘sexy thing’ differently.Do not sell your soul to fame and music, don’t. you will cringe watching this,a few years down the line.

    May 29, 2014 at 1:24 pm

but since I’m here might aswell drop my own. All I have to say is her manager/husband did not advise her well, maybe the fact that they are married is what is clouding the vision because I do not understand what has happened. Hence the saying ‘do not mix business with pleasure’. For example a manager like Chin Okeke knows what is right (Zinab Balogun, Eku Edewor). Get it together Tiwa and retrace your steps.

As if crotch touching (in public) is OK, even if u r Beyonce or Rihanna; some comments on here tell me that it has really ‘finished’ for this world. Tiwa, pls stop this rubbish abeg.

    May 29, 2014 at 4:41 pm

Naijas copy too much, use that ur so called brain for originality and creativity. You see how Indians stick to their bobbing head, singing and it’s still popular. Learn to be different, and u don’t have to lower urself to rubbish to show u are advancing. Leave it to Yankee folks, that’s their culture. The Spanish stick to their salsa, So Nigerians find ur own unique creativity and showcase it. Tiwa, I guess u don’t care for your career, bcos if u care you will put more effort than the rubbish u just put out. That manager of urs will be ur downfall.

It would have been hilarious if she wasn’t trying to hard and looking ridiculous. Painful to watch. SMH for Tiwa. Her husband/manager has no good intentions for her. When he has finished her, he will dump her and move on to the next talent.

I have always been a big fan of Tiwa and I understand what she’s doing here, but I am not impressed. It’s a very cheap (AT least it appears that way) attempt at it. II respect her talent so I won’t bash her but I honestly think she should’ve spent longer time in the lab for this product, it will do poorly in her market…

OAN: I have found myself listening to Niyola more and more these days, that girl has pure talent. Keep it u Niyola.

Ladies and Gentlemen, especially the Tiwa Stans, Mavins and TiwaStarians in the house,
please allow me to draw your attention to the video interview with Tiwa below by the blogger that1960chick (i’d like you to pay attention to Tiwa’s statements from 4:06 – 6:00). Can one of the aforementioned explain this Paradox called Tiwa? since you love her so much. I’m confused. It seems Tiwa is also confused. By virtue of this ‘Wanted’ video it seems to me that our girl Tiwa Savage is unfortunately fighting that ‘battle within’ reminiscent of the mid-age crises as I am not sure she knows the direction she wants for her act, brand and art. Abeg she should decide who she wants to be so we can decide if she is the act we want to follow, the auto tunes were bad enough as it were.

This tiwa really is a buisness woman. She has really studied the nigerian market and knew she could relay on the ignorant stupidity of people to click on her link and watch her video even though they knew it was a ashawo video. Thanks to you all her rating has gone up. She’s actually been norminated for a BET award. Keep clicking and preaching nonsense she’s making money of your ignorance the same as your money doubling pastors do. If the tiwa was giving out free gifts now like the typical greedy Nigerians you guys will rush. The nigerian market is good for exploiting.

    June 8, 2014 at 12:31 am

    Dear Tiwa,
I am a major fan of yours and I have always
loved your music right from the very start. I
know how bad you must have felt seeing
the way your fans reacted to your recently
released video ‘Wanted’. I have decided to
take time out to explain things to you and
make you understand why we reacted the
    way we did.
Tiwa, from inception, you have been
perceived to be an Ambassador of the
    Youth. You represented the quintessential
sexy female role-model, especially in the
entertainment world. When we listen to
your songs, it sends a message across to the
youth. There is always something to ‘take
home’ in your songs: for the young female,
how to be simple and sexy without being
trashy; for the young aspiring person, how
hardwork pays; for the up and coming
musician, how to sing songs that not only
inspire the youths but motivates them in
focusing on their dreams. My point exactly…
we just loved you and your music (oh! the
    freshness of your songs).
After all these and then the next thing we
get from you is…’Wanted’! It was simply too
much for some of us to handle. We were so
shocked because for some us, we thought
“So she don join Maheeda group of
companies!” Please do not blame the fans
for reacting the way they did. You know
how it is when you have a child who does
and says all the right things and then Boom!
…she comes out ‘Unclad’! If Maheeda or
Cossy did a video like that, trust me, we
won’t blink. We would simply say, Oh, its
Maheeda! Oh, it’s Cossy! But you are neither
of them, you are Tiwa omo Savage, who
    sings beautiful songs.
My advice?…Please do not give into the
pressure of “Sex Sells” attitude in the music
industry. We are shouting that Today’s
Nigerian youth are losing their sense of
culture and sense of self, majorly because
we want to be accepted by the Westernised
society! Please do not add to the factors
contributing to societal decadence! Let us
please practice what we preach through the
music which you give to us and the home-
videos we watch. I want that, at the end of
the day, when my child sits to watch a
musical video, it will inspire him/her to
become a better person. Not a person, who
believes in using violence, sex and sexually
    explicit materials to communicate.
I believe, you wanted to say something with
the ‘Wanted’ video, but what ever that
message was, we didn’t get it because you
didn’t allow us that opportunity! Please, I
didn’t want to say this but a husband who
truly loves you, is supposed to protect his
‘wares’ and not make you do whatever to
stay relevant in the public eye!
Don’t feel bad about being critisized for
your video, even though there are some
‘touts’ in our midst who seize every given
opportunity to exhibit their ‘toutery’! Let me
just tell you that, as long as you are in the
public eye, you will constantly be judged so
don’t let all the ‘noise’ about your video get
to you. Celine dione was one lady musician
who never changed who she was and we all
loved her music. So, we want you to keep
    being our ‘Celine dione’. Lol!
People make mistakes and you are no
exception because you are human (Losers, I
hope you understand?!). Afterall, if you think
about it, we have a right to complain
because you are ‘working’ for us or is the
music not for our own enjoyment? So if we
say we want Spaghetti and sauce, why do
you give us ‘koko garri and groundnuts’!
Love you girl! You will always remain one of
my number one sexy female musician

Went out this morning to grab a scotch egg and stuff and they played this video. It may seem like I’m – what’s the word – hypocritical, but I wasn’t happy about it. They followed up this video immediately with one adult video by Ciara and then another flesh show by Shakira/Rihanna.
I guess I didn’t really think about the fact that it would play in public places like a fast food joint in an upscale residential area on a Sunday morning. It was not the most decent thing.

i believe this video stems out of a serious case of inferiority complex. you practically have to show your body before you can feel ”WANTED”. GROSS.
