The venue was themed with floral arrangement décor – creating a magical garden theme, with a live grand pianist and of course a fashion show showcasing Iconic Invanity’s Autumn/Winter 2014 collection which was inspired by the 1950’s glamour in high society.

In a brief chat with BN Style, Nancy shed light on her new venture. Speaking on her reason for launching the store in such an upscale location and her next store location, she said “I decided to launch the stand-alone store in Banana Island so my clients who wanted a more private and personal shopping experience could attain one in an expressive ambiance of the brand feel.”

Well at the moment I’m at the beginning stage of working on my latest collection; and being inspired by women and their curves among other things. I’m always inspired by music and this will show in what comes next.

She later commented on starting her online store and Iconic Invanity’s future projects – “I’m always looking at ways to expand the brand so who knows what will be the next step. Online is a definite possibility.”

There will be another collection before the end of this year; and one thing I can guarantee those who love the brand is the continuance of creativity that will always be the focal point of what I do.”

ok this is a really serious question, how much do their dresses retail for? how are they able to afford a store in banana island? will i be paying 100k for a shift dress?

    • Joan

      June 22, 2014 at 11:50 am

A floor length beaded dress cost N350k. I know someone who bought one. Its beautiful but so expensive. Its very high end so think of the label like Prada or any of the others.

@ neon why are you asking how she is able to afford a store at banana island? Do you know if its a family house?Do you ask oyibo designers why their shops are located where they are chrrrrr.
Her clothes are expensive cause a lot of work goes into her production. Her clothes are not for everyone!if you cant afford 100k for a shift dress, no wahala. Buy where your hand fit reach

The difference between luxury brands and fashion brands is not only in the aspects of product quality and pricing but also applies to availability and exclusivity of the products. Fashion brands are for the mass market, whether they are of high quality or not. Luxury brands are for a distinct narrow market and are defined by high quality, differentiation and precision in product design and manufacture.

That first gown, the green and sheer fabric is a stunner!! most of the looks are awesome. The cut and fabrics look well thought out and done. I think some of them are too busy for one outfit but that’s a personal opinion.

    June 24, 2014 at 1:42 am

Awesome event! I can smell the class and sophistication already! Omotola nailed this look and the CEO of IconicInvanity, Nancy is really pretty too. Even that former Miss SA babe looks hot on the runway.
Highlight for me would definitely be Denrele’s new hair colour. And his smile always lights up everywhere. I wish other celebrities could take a cue from him and always be happy (or try amd look happy!). IconicInvanity should also consider a male line. And dat Didi Umenyiora guy? That’s a total hunk rolled into cream caramel of hotness!

This is one designer whose work I love. She is truly good at what she does. Sad that the clothes are too expensive for me to afford. But she is truly good. Nice event! Omotola looked amazing!!
