Pastor Tunde Bakare says FG Should Apologise to Boko Haram

Tunde Bakare Bella Naija
Vice-Presidential running mate of General Muhammadu Buhari in the 2011 Presidential Elections, Pastor Tunde Bakare has said that one of the ways to end terrorism by Islamist militant sect Boko Haram, is for the federal government to apologise to them.

At a church service in Lagos, Bakare of Latter Rain Assembly said this while addressing the state of the nation. He urged the government to apologise to the sect over the murder of their leader Mohammed Yusuf in 2009.

“But for the timely intervention of God, last week’s assassination attempt on General Muhamadu Buhari might have marked the beginning of the end for Nigeria if it had succeeded. We will not also ignore the fact that at the root of the escalation of the Boko Haram crisis was oppression and injustice.

“The summary execution of the Boko Haram’s former leader, Mohammed Yusuf in 2009 provided the soil of martyrdom for the nurture and growth of the sect. Government must declare peace first of all; apologising for the murder of Mohammed Yusuf to the sect members not their sympathisers or bandits.”

Jonathan apologizing to Boko Haram is more like asking Jesus to apologize to the Devil! Bakare please go back to sleep!

Your so called man of God is literally worst than boko haram. He has some how find a way to justify all this atrocities create by boko haram. My greatest joy is we didn’t vote you into office. Nigeria by now would have turn a state that sponsors terror if not already.

I av found that often times most of the comments on social media are nt given deep thought b4 they are passed/written. A deep thinker wld look in-depth @ what Pst tunde meant b4 judging. Pst Tunde has viewed nd suggested a kind of repite solution to boko haram menace we are facing @ d moment. From his own perception, apology may be a respite to d mayhem, what is ur own suggestion? And who says apology may nt work? As it been tried?

I don’t know about apologizing to the sect just bcos their former leader was killed by FG but if happens that Buhari was eventually killed in the last bomb blast in Kaduna, that would have marked the end of era of amalgamation of the country called Nigeria. It is better for Nigerians to stop the blame game and their differences ( time to work together ), so that it can propel the everlasting solutions to the problem hindering or hampering the nation. Terrorism is not just something that we can take with levity hands, it is better for us to learn a vital lessons from Afghanistan and Iraq; it was started like Boko Haram killing in the Northern region before it starts to escalate to every nook and cranny of those countries. They haven’t known peace up till now.
We are not sitting on the keg of gunpowder, keg is too small at this juncture, it is actually now “cement” of gunpowder.

Terrorism is a modern day confusion, the same Al-Qaeda that was operating in Afghan is the same sect that was fighting against Libyan Gov. all in the name of oil before the intervention of the so called West. Everything is the same format but different strategies.
I might not like GEJ due to his body language when it comes to corruption but there are so many things going on behind the scene. I could remember when Christian Amanpour was granted an interview to Jonathan. She asked him about those people doing bunkering in Nigeria and the moment he made a statement that most oil theft have been taken to USA, if America did not allow it, there would never be something as such. Consequently, she had to round up the interview after that statement.

I may not know all but do these BH guys look like apologies would calm them down? If anything, it would give them more grounds to do more horrible things with the conviction that the Government has owned up to a crime.

Pastor Dearest, BH is now in Cameroon and just abducted the wife of the Vice Prime Minister, they have also killed many in Cameroon. Is it because Cameroon government killed their leader? Definitely Not. Since Cameroon is trying to help Nigeria it has become their target too.

These guys are evil thats all.

Is this man serious? Apologising to murderers and terrorists and looters… Maybe he is just one of their backers. And Pastor, tell me one thing… Do you really believe the faith of a great country like Nigeria hangs on one man like Buhari? Do you have any relatives or wives or children or even friends that were murdered by Boko Haram? Do you personally know anyone killed by them? I don’t think so. So better keep quiet and may God grant you the wisdom to get on the right path soon enough.

I blame de goverment for not acting fast to curb this menace to society, de Bible in de book of ecc 8:11-13 has explained wat is happening in this country. So it saddens me wen I hear people who should knw beta talk like this. If the FG apologies to BH , will it change their cause, will it make them love Xitians more to stop de killing and bombing of churches, will it make dem embrace western Education, will it stop them from getting assistance from The Northern Politicans who hav promise to take back power by all means. . My dear pastor if the Nigerian Govt offended BH wat de camerounian govt do to them.

A Pastor saying Nigerian FG should apologize to BH For killing their leader? Pastor have you checked the outstanding statistics of thousands of innocent lives and kids lost in the bloody hands of The BH? Now! We know there is more to BH, than the FG is making it look like. Their supporters are surprisingly people many will never have taught. You are a disgrace not only to your church, but humanity in general. You gotta be kidding me.

This is the very reason why he lost out in his bid to be Nigeria’s Vice president . It is very worrying sometimes that he makes statements which rail against common sense all in a bid to criticise the government in power.

Seriously apologize, now I have heard it all!!! I have lost all respect for Pastor Tunde Bakare. All the victims of boko haram, and their families, what would you suggest they do? But then I guess Pastor Bakare, has not been personally blighted by boko haram, that is why he is making this stupid and ridiculous statement.

Bakare you na monkey, stop deceiving poor people that you are a christian ,actually you a cultist collecting unsuspecting members of the society’s money in the name of a pastor

  27. Kiikpoye K. Aaron

    July 30, 2014 at 12:23 pm

This is curious but by no means surprising because of the person involved. The fact that a Pastor could run an election with a muslim when the Bible he preaches every sunday and some weekdays tells us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers suggests that anything is possible to be said or done by Pastor Bakare. I used to have enormous respect for Pastor Bakare but not anymore since he soiled his hands with the rough and murky waters of Nigerian politics. Members, beware as you may one day be asked to worship prophet Mohammed in the Latter Rain Assembly!

All of you if you don’t know what to say you better keep your mouth shut, Man of God is not your mate, Talking to the man of God any how you? You are bringing generational Curses to yourself and family.
    2 King 2:23-24
Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up the road, some youths came from the city and mocked him, and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!” So he turned around and looked at them, and pronounced a curse on them in the name of the LORD. And two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.
If you don’t want this to happen to you Keep your mouth shut for ever.

I believed its more easier to say sorry than buying tools of destruction in other to show who can fight or well trainned. Well, maybe, if we apply the wisdom of God things can speak peace in our beloved Nation. Nigeria.
    May God bless Nigeria.

@ Bellanaija – Please publish the entire speech the entire speech and not half truth. You are misleading the public by extracting a few sentence from an entire speech and putting it is out of context to create controversy. I really pity your readershipwho feed on hype and not the real truth. PUBLISH THE ENTIRE SPEECH!!!

I will suggest to everyone (For & Against) to get your facts right before make comments as many of you are very ignorant of the context of the speech. I have listened to the entire speech and bellanaija has completely and wrongly taken it out of context. GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT!!!
