Ebola: Liberian Religious Leaders claim it’s a “Plague” by God for Homosexual Acts

4 month old Ebola Victim
According to a group of religious leaders in Liberia, the deadly Ebola virus was unleashed by God as a plague upon the nation to punish “immoral acts” such as homosexuality taking place there.

The Daily Observer reports that various church leaders from the Liberia Council of Churches (LCC) reportedly attended a meeting on Wednesday to discuss a spiritual response to the outbreak of Ebola in West Africa.

“God is angry with Liberia”, said a leader at the meeting. And that is why Ebola was sent “as a plague” he added.

 A statement detailing the resolution, read;

“Liberians have to pray and seek God’s forgiveness over the corruption and immoral acts (such as homosexualism etc) that continue to penetrate the society.

As Christians, we must repent and seek God’s forgiveness. “

The LCC also recommended Liberians stay indoors for a three-day period for fasting and prayer.

So.. why doesn’t America have Ebola?

Following their logic, America and England should be the first to receive this “plague”

    smh. Ignorance.

    Useless people.

One minute they say God only does good, and every bad thing is borne by the devil, since the he is the prince of this world.

The next minute, they say God is angry and is sending curses on men- because the earth and everything in it is His.

Make up your minds, and accept that this virus is as a result of lack of preventative action (i.e being prepared) by your government. and also your people’s fundamental distrust of everything the Government says,

My dear this tire me o. They paint this their god as a narcissistic power obsessed egomaniac, who destroys his children for the very sin he himself created them with in the first. Then sits on his high throne and waits for worship and pleading before he shows mercy. It just sounds like for you to buy into religion, you would have to abandon every thinking faculty and any sense of reasoning you possess. The worst sham ever created is by far is religion.

“…for the very sin he created them with in the first…” That line right there is really something to reflect on. But please get ready to be called “crazy” and other names for trying more sense than their delusions can handle.

Wait, so God plagues “Africa” with EBOLA to punish THE WORLD for homosexualism…shoooo..why na???? abeg gerrout with your silly logic. Africa has the poorest people on earth, famine, disease, corruption, war, etc…NA WE KILL JESUS? Even the people wey kill Jesus we still dey call them “God’s chosen people” and their land is flourishing but na only Africa dey suffer for the sins of the world.. Abeg leave me jor, no make I vex today. We Africans need to work on our hygiene and our intelligence, maybe then we will stop being plagued!!!

This is why the West will forever refer to Africa as backward. Look at the thinking of grown men and women. So God by-passed US and some European countries that have legalised gay marriage years ago, only to come and bring Ebola to Africa. Spiritually speaking, what this bunch of people are saying is wrong. Sickness and diseases is not of God but of the devil. When Jesus died on the cross, he atoned for our sins. God is not wicked. Let them concentrate on enlightening the rural people about prevention of Ebola, they should stop using their hands to carry dead body of their relatives onto the street, going back to live in thesame contaminated house and refusing to be quarantined thereby fuelling new infections. If this religious leaders (Christians, Imams, witchdoctors) can spread the message of prevention and then pray afterwards, then there can be an end to this.

We had exactly the same idiocy here in the U.S. after the attacks on 9/11/2001. Two Christian commentators claimed the attack occurred because of homosexuality. The only thing to do with these people is to ignore them.

  9. Bella

    August 7, 2014 at 2:35 pm

So the doctors and other innocent people dying are also homosexuals< our ignorance surely knows no limit, so what of cancer and HIV and all other chronic diseases! Our leaders are very irresponsible to be sending out such information to the public! Africans… we've suffered! ahn ahn.

Why are Africans just outright stupid ; first it was Sirleaf Johnson allegedly asking people to fast and pray for 3 days and now this??? This is why we Africans, remain impoverished and not morph into the true Giants we really are. Mixing Church and state will get us no where. I love Jesus, but we should please pray in our homes, churches. We shouldn’t go making public announcement as a whole President when you have been doing so little to curb this Ebola mess. Kudos to the Federal Govt (Ministry of Health), but there is still so much we can do.

Yeye person and the sad part is it’s not only him that share this backward mentality lack of forward thinking is what is keeping Africa down majority of times we are always last in everything because we clinge to religion and culture to solve all our problem. Ebola virus is a diesease no one took seriously when it was first dictected now this fool is blaming it on Homosexuals. smh…

    August 7, 2014 at 2:47 pm

Hmmm… for something that isnt gotten from sex, this is kinda of lame. I am a fan of praying for the country/countries, but people need to know the preventive measures as well.

      August 8, 2014 at 2:47 pm

Praying is just for your personal peace of mind , it is and will never be a cure for anything. Washing your hand and following simple rules of hygiene and common sense is what should be recommended NOT prayers.

If it were truly a plague, then America & Europe would be clothed in Ebola. . . How many Homos do we even have in Africa? This is time to act & not time for speculations!

So Liberians are this daft? If this is the attitude they have, Ebola hasn’t even started dealing with them yet.

      August 7, 2014 at 5:01 pm

Of course this is not the thinking of “ALL” Liberians. Your statement is rather insulting to a whole nation of people.

All sins are equal before God. All the corruption, bribery, voodoo no bring God’s wrath but na the practice of homosexuality wey don bring the hammer of God on Africa via Ebola? Yeah okay, great council there church leaders. Please go and rest your brains o because I think the amount of energy it took to come up with this theory must be exhausting o_____O

Please bloggers, Before Bruno/Felicia/Agatha comes and rubs this on our faces. I want to make one thing outrightly clear here Sin is Sin. I said it before, that people, be it believers, pagans, or what ever label are so quick to declare judgement on others for the crimes they feel they are not guilty of. We all have lied, stolen and done horrible things which God hates but no where should it be said that Ebola is a result of homosexuality. God hates sin but loves the sinner and wants us to repent.

I get really irritated when individuals try to paint God in a negative light. If God was to destroy us because of our sins then no one would be alive now. Everyone on this planet has done something wrong be it by local constitution or religious standards.

See foolishness, the countries that are loaded with Gay people God wont punish, it is in Africa that , you can easily count the few that God is punishing. When Africans decide to use their brains rather than putting every situation on God, we will move forward.

It’s nothing to do with religion, it’s people with limited imagination trying to make sense of something that is beyond their comprehension or ignoring their culpability after enjoying bat suya and monkey brain asun…….please stop exposing our feeble mindedness to the rest of the world…they will simply come and ph***k us up the proverbial bum even more when they realise how ridiculous, less than child like our thinking is…please stop disgracing us…please make them stop…..please….

Once upon a time, we were meant to believed that HIV/AIDS was a spell from God. Some clerics convinced us that, its was never going to be unravelled by scientist. Today, an antiretroviral drug to curtail the viral replication is available and the future cure near. Why have our clerics turned doomsday prophets? I anticipated prayers from them to imbibe the ideas to scientists to inventing a cure not the reverse. ” if science was religious, the road to every problem would have been ‘fate’ instead of work”.

They lack the knowledge of God’s Word. People by saying such, God is great and has dealt with the sins of humanity in his beloved son Jesus; sending him to die for our sins. Now, also be informed that ‘God gave us brains so he could rest’ .. He wants us to come out with solutions for these crisis so as to dominate the earth as he has told us in his scriptures. Beloved, God exist and loves humanity. Cheers!
