Hot Collab! Akon and D’Banj Working Together on Two New Singles

Akon and D'Banj2014 has been the year of collaborations and it seems music lovers are going to be rounding off the year with a mega collaboration between Nigerian music star D’Banj and International act Akon.

The two of them took to their Instagram pages this morning to tease fans with the fact that they are working together on something big. From their comments it seems they are working together on two new singles ‘Frosh’ and ‘Feeling a Nigga’.

Akon and D'Banj 2Akon shared a picture of the two of them together and commented, “Money making Africans in the Atlanta shouting the videos that’s going to run 2015. Me and my man @iamdbanj. “FROSH” and “FEELIN A NIGGA””

D’Banj posted a similar picture in the same location and commented, “BEST of BOTH N****S now that’s #Frosh and she said she Feelinh the Nigga Get Ready guys . Christmas is Coming Early @akon”.

Looks like the songs will be released just in time for Christmas.

We can’t wait to see what these two music stars have up their sleeves.

You are just another -, for God sake can you kids just move pass this Don Jazz madness?

      October 21, 2014 at 11:13 am

LOL the weird moment you realize don jazzy and the whole mavin crew only did 1 major concert in the last 3 years, had mtn endorsement which was shared among the whole mavins and had cheap loya milk endorsement while d’banj on the other hand

      1)He re-signed a deal with Globacom
2)He became a ONE campaign ambassador and was on the same stage with president of world bank
      3)he won world music awards
4)His song”Top of the world was the AFCON theme” and was performed at the AFCON 2013 closing ceremony held in South Africa.
5)D’banj performed at the Hackney Weekend to celebrate the 2012 Summer Olympics, which was headlined by Jay-Z and Rihanna
      6)Ambassador of Bank of Industry
7)signed to Mercury Records &Sony Music Entertainment
8)He became the ambassador for BEATS by dre
9)His song bother you was the official sound track of half of the yellow sun movie

If i am not mistaken, no artist in Nigeria has been able to achieve this feet of success in just few years.Open your eyes well and see who the real boss is. I think Don jazzy should just go back and beg d’banj because when tiwa leaves mavin then don j will blame himself

When will u guys stop all this dbanj n jazzy rubbish, is it by force? If dbanj is no more relevant to you simply move on, HABA! Still feeling on d past in 2014, I’m sure by 2020 u will still keep saying dbanj shud go back to jazzy, people dat move forward in life are those detach themselves from the past so they can embrace the future, dbanj is embracing his future and not everyone in your past can be a part of your future. So if u can’t be a part of someone future just disconnect yourself and let his true fans embrace him. Thank u.

D’banj is a business man and if you carry out an assessment of his worth I am very sure he is actually doing very well since he left Don Jazzy. Anyway wetin be my own. It’s not as if they are giving me money sef.

@ whoever you are, you have no respect for people’s handwork; well, how will you know what hard work is when you are so relevant, ignorant, and maybe goalless. Respect people’s hustle and stop bashing/hating someone’s headwork, dreams and life.
Both parties involved have worked hard; they have both done a great job with making the Nigerian music industry relevant. They have also shown positive attributes (work ethic), and both represented Nigeria (and it subcultures) well)!
God bless all the dreams and goal getters of our generation!

I don’t know why, but I just love D’Banj! I have nothing against Don Djazzy and I think he does great work. But I’m a die-hard D’banj fan!

I have learned a lot from D’banj since Oliver Twist. When you produce a mega-hit like Oliver Twist, the pressure to replicate the success is massive. It happens in all creative industries, and D’banj is not the first artists to face this blessing/curse. It can break an artists, as anything that they produce after that will always be compared to the mega-hit and will never measure up. It takes an incredible amount of courage, real passion to continue trying. And generally, if the artist hangs in there long enough, keeps believing in themselves and keeps pouring their heart into their work, they will come out the other end even more successful and even better.

You can’t have a 10/20/30 year career in any field without some flops. True courage is in forging on despite the not so great results from time to time.

so D’banj, go on. Keep doing your thing. As a true fan, I will maybe not love every single one of your songs, but I will remain a fan!

Nigerians cant get pass tribalistic and religous bias – this is a huge shame!

The reality was that Dbanj and Don Jazzy partnership was the best!!! Dbanj was the Entertainer that turned Don Jazzy beats/compositions into a work of art, none of the current Mavin crew has been able to replicate this synergy.

They are both good in what they do – but they were the best when they worked together!

      @just saying.
You are the most sensible and matured mind that has written so far.
Yes it hurts, that they splitted, too bad. but hey life goes on, they are both doing fine.
Its just that they were dynamite when together.
If not for dbanj that worked with don jazzy, others wont have come to join.
I wish them both the best, someone has to leave some day, and thats how both will explode.

      Nigerians should shun sentiments……..

      Thats my two kobo.

Ride on Bangalee, am a die-hard D’banj fan, i don’t care about what people say about him, his struggles are real and am so proud of what he has been able to achieve on his own, it shows that Don Jazzy is not the alpha and omega of his musical success, he might have had some flops but nonetheless he always bounces back a winner. Carry on Africa’s Micheal Jackson..

DBanj is NOT the best, pls…stop using superlatives when inappropriate. Since Oliver Twist, nothing superb has really come out from him. Let’s wait for the collabo tho, thanks to @Akon. P-Square, IMO, are the KINGS OF AFRICA!!! AFRICAN ENTERTAINMENT ROYALTY!!! Ask the continent, please.

But oi, my question is…How is Dbanj getting so fresh and fine ? Like his face gets better everyday! Or is it the haircut that is making him look younger ? His latest selfies on IG are >>>
