Essence magazine’s annual ‘Black Women in Hollywood’ luncheon is fast becoming one of the pre-Oscar events to look out for where the magazine honours outstanding black women in the movie industry.

With Adrienne C. Moore, Danielle Brooks, Laverne Cox, Lorraine Toussaint, Samira Wiley, Uzo Aduba, Oprah Winfrey, Lupita Nyong’o, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Shonda Rhimes, Regina King, Sharon Leal, Michelle Ebanks, Carmen Ejogo, Aja Naomi King, Tracee Elis Ross, Kelly Rowland, Common, David Oyelowo, Jessica Oyelowo, Chanel Iman, Tia Mowry and more in attendance, it was a night of uplifting speeches.

    Thank you Uzo for finally finding your style. Your build is beautiful but it is not for styles that emphasize masculine form. You look stunning in this outfit. No more sleeveless ensembles meant for breastless, scrawny, starving chicks.
