Published

Rihanna-Harpers-Bazaar-China-Photo BN 3Congrats to Bad Gal Riri! The Bajan beauty is officially the first black woman to headline a Dior Campaign. While this is certainly great news, we wonder what took Dior so long to select a woman of colour to front their ad campaign.

Still good news and we are looking forward to the undoubtedly fabulous ad campaign.

In other Rihanna news, her cover feature for Harper’s Bazaar China is all kinds of fierce! You can check out the full spread in the magazine available on select newsstands now.

    I don’t really picture rihanna as a dior girl.

    rihanna doesn’t have that grace that dior girls like marion cotillard and charlize theron have. I don’t mean it in a bad way. rihanna is edgy and funky , and a big risk taker in fashion.

    sha sha lets see how this works out.

      i kind of see your point. but i think Rihanna is also very versatile. I actually suspect Dior picked her to showcase the edgier side of the fashion house.

      My dear ooh. Glorified Colonial mentality. You have to give it to the whites, the just have their ways of enslaving blacks, its so bad that we turn around and praise them for it.

    EVERY THING ABOUT THIS GIRL LOOKS DEMONIC. Why cant yall see it. Are yall blind? Cant you see? Every time I see her I plead the BLOOD OF JESUS . Open your eyes, u are seeing a demonic snake. She oozes demonism. STOP IDOLIZING THIS GIRL open your eyes

    And mind you, she was selected not only because she has become a force in the fashion world but most importantly due to her ‘white’ features. Pale green eyes, slender nose, oval face and slender figure, close to white skin. I bet you if she or any of the black stars had the typical black features, ‘black eyes, big lips, big nose, dark skin, curvy physique, she won’t be smelling a Dior campaign anytime soon.

      @looter.
      slender nose ke? are u sure its the same rihanna that sang unbrella that we are talking about? rihanna’s nose is huge and flat.

      must everything be a race thing with black people.
      pls stop it.

    first black woman abi??but they made great efforts to make her look white???blacks have to read books and see past these rubbish.were r d black intellects no body is celebrating them but these ignorant entertainers.

      @mx.

      you are the one that needs to read and understand properly . those pictures above are not the official dior campaign pictures. they are for a magazine, harpars bazzar china.

      you can never please black people. assuming they hired lupita or alek wek, you people will still complain.

      “were
      r d black intellects no body is celebrating them
      but these ignorant entertainers”

      pls there is the nobel prize or cnn hero honours to celebrate intellectuals. this is dior, a luxury brand, if dior decided to use a lab technician or a novelist as their new face, won’t you be asking “who is this”

      black people always so angry and ready to attack, if I ask you, how many (original) dior products do u own, the answer will be none. so why are u complaining.

    What took Dior so long? How about that racist John Galliano who headed it for so long until recently…plus Raf Simons (the new creative director) is trying to make Dior more cutting edge probably why he chose Rihanna

    But? But? “Cultural appropriation”?? I’m so confused.(American PC logic can do that to a guy).
    Rihanna looks beautiful though.
    Is that Ankara in the 2nd cover third picture??

    Lets face it, making Rihanna look Chinese is like painting a white model black. Imagine if there was a Harper’s Bazaar Africa and they featured a white model in black face, people would be shooting Racism, boycott. Its a two way street people, just my observation
