‘Orange is the New Black’ actress, Uzo Aduba, was one of the thousands of people who ran the 2015 Boston Marathon to support Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute on April 20, 2015 in Boston, Massachusetts.
The Nigerian Hollywood actress, who finished in a little over 5 hours, was running on behalf of Dana Farber and helped raise over $4,000 for the Dana Farber Marathon Challenge Team.
She excitedly shared a photo on Instagram, and talking about her reason for running she says “It feels like the right thing to do. It still feels pretty raw, and with [the trial] it almost feels like a Band-Aid getting pulled back again. That’s where I grew up, where I learned what a marathon even was… to be a part of it, it feels particularly special.”
