So, Nigerians and them forever copying westerners. Babymama and babydaddy is the in thing now. I guess, they want to keep up with the American celebrities. Nigerians, you are only hurting yourselves.

nigerian men pls wrap it up, always use a condom.
nigerian women pls stop getting pregnant on purpose for famous musicians.

u having a child for him does not mean he is going to marry you. some of u women never learn.

    • Nahum

      May 19, 2015 at 9:24 am

Bruno pls tell the two both of them, both the men and the women. Haaaa!!! This boy was flaunting another chick while ANOTHER chick was pregnant and the two shediots were smiling for the camera HAAAAAA!!! This generation…..na wa for una o, I don tire Abeg.

      May 19, 2015 at 11:25 am

That “relationship” with the gambian chic was probably orchestrated to distract people from the pregnancy rumours. Now the gambian “girlfriend” is all of sudden nowhere to be found

What if marriage is not the goal? Stop making it sound like an achievement?

    • Nahum

      May 19, 2015 at 9:52 am

Cindy I hear you that marriage is not an accomplishment, but being disrespected while you are pregnant should not be an accomplishment either. What Bruno is condemning is this new trend of “man-sharing”. We women can do much better than this

    • yea rite

      May 19, 2015 at 11:13 am

Hey Cindy, marriage is not an achievement but at least a LEGAL union of a man and a woman. Anything less is illegal.
Why put the innocent child through the misery of being born outside wedlock?
You grew up and your mum showed you your dad.
How would you feel if you grow up, ask of your dad and your mum sighs.
There is nothing awesome with being a baby-mama. So I wonder what is her goal.

    • jefka

      May 19, 2015 at 2:20 pm

My dear Cindy, right now somewhere in Nigeria, davido is straffing some other girl without condom………….

Why on earth will Dele Momodu even make a public congratulatory comment…family?? Kwa! Guess our elders are beginning to spare the rod and the children are becoming rotten! If it was a poor boy I’m sure he will be in kirikiri! No Morals whatsoever! God gimme the rod and the heart not to spare any child of mine that intends to be a baby mama!

    • ShineShineShine

      May 19, 2015 at 6:12 pm

Surprised that you asked such a question! Dele Momodu is one loquacious person. His morals ain’t much either!!

      May 20, 2015 at 4:17 pm

It is not even the Davido, baby mama and baby that’s worthy of raising eyebrow in all of this. It’s the joy in Dele Momodu’s “voice”. A child is a source of joy, but Dele Momodu seems to be more excited about the baby being for a famous person.
He’ll soon put it on the cover of ovation

  7. Why

    May 19, 2015 at 8:36 am

What is with Nigerian musicians and baby mamas, The girls are to blame too cause they have no shame, seriously this wrong. I am not a huge fan of D’banj but if there is one thing i respect him for, it is the fact that he is not sowing his seed left, right and center. I wish the child a happy life.

    • Ada Nnewi

      May 19, 2015 at 9:01 am

D’banj has 2 kids from the same woman but he pays through his nose to shut her up…

      Ada Nnewi, that is incorrect.
Actually he’s being pressurized by his family to at least have a child if he can’t have a wife, as his younger brother already has a child. This is how rumor starts, some of you know well what you’re saying is incorrect, but you enjoy saying and spreading bs. If D’banj has a child, he pay to hide it, really?

This is not encouraging at all because younger girls will begin to see this trend as something that is worth emulating. What a world!

This is not new. It has always been like this since time Imo river. Social media has only succeded in putting this in our faces. The likes of Sunny Ade, Ayinla Omo Wura, Sunny Okosun etc all did the same. Women have always flocked around popular musicians/actors etc. But don’t worry, the private tears and heartbreak is what we don’t get to see.

    • Engoz

      May 19, 2015 at 11:57 am

As far as it is here, it is our business. As far we have to be disturbed by their pics celebrating illegitimacy, it is our business. Don’t know why people are OK in bringing illegitimate children into the world despite the rate HIV is spreading in Nigeria. How does illegitimacy help the society? Where there’s illegitimacy there’s an increase in dysfunctional families that will be translated into a dysfunctional society especially for black people. Nigerian musicians need to be quarantined, only God knows the host of diseases they carry with the rate they sleep around.

I find it interesting that the majority of people that have commented have called the girl everything from a “thot” to a slut (not in so many words but the sentiment resonates within the comments). Now I am not saying I know the girl, or Davido or that I even keep up with celebrities enough to know anything, but what I do know is this. , If you chose to disparage the circumstances of the baby’s birth, can we at least direct the condemnation at both parties? She is a thot? How about Davido? The last I checked, she did not impregnate herself. Further she does not look to me like she is starving, she did not put this picture up by herself, but her family member did (she might have something on her twitter, I dont know but I am commenting based on this BN post right here) . So, really, how does she deserve the insults and all Mr. Davido gets is a slap on the hand in the “wear a condom dude” sense? More importantly, it is none of our damned business, but as it is on social media I suppose it is open season on them comments wise.

    • Icare

      May 19, 2015 at 12:47 pm

Oh yes. We should blame both bla bla bla.
Did Davido impregnant her on gun point? She is clearly the receiver. If she insisted on protected sex, would we be here discussing this? Davido isn’t the one pregnant. Davido isn’t the one who put to bed an ‘illegitimate’ child.
If women refuse guys and their randiness, there won’t be baby-mamas to worry about.
Women should learn to say NO!

Dele Momodu and his so called cousin should bury their faces in shame. Your cousin did the wrong thing by opening her legs for a man that is not yet married nor even proposed to her and you are proud to congradulate her in public, Shame on you. As for the innocent baby welcome to the world.

    • LotusFlower

      May 19, 2015 at 11:03 am

Why should they hang their heads in shame? She had a baby, she didn’t steal or kill. The baby is here, so they should celebrate the child.
As if you haven’t opened your legs for a man. Of course, I expect you to respond with: “I am a virgin, o!”
      mtchewwwwwww

    • MeeMee

Oh yes they should! Don’t see why Dele Momodu should be propagating the whole thing on social media, congratulating them when his cousin is not officially married to Davido. The babe looks older and should have known better and wiser. Except of course she has her reasons. Please do not support bad thing abeg. No one is claiming virgin

    • Tomilola

      May 19, 2015 at 11:39 am

Dear Stella, there is nothing wrong with Dele Momodu congratulating his cousin over the birth of her newborn. What is shameful about welcoming a baby to the world? I might be missing the point so educate me. Should he grab a cane and flog her or disown her because she had a baby out of wedlock? I am utterly confused here. Plus, so it is only okay to be a mom when you’ve been proposed to or married by a man? Honey, I think you’re getting it all mixed up here. It is certainly NOT ok to be some man’s side piece or toy and like Bruno stated, women need to raise their standards BUT aint nothing shameless about having a baby as a single woman. Know that!

    • Icare

      May 19, 2015 at 12:55 pm

      Really?
If your idea of raised standard, is having a child in a scenario like this, then being ‘below standard’ is the way to go!
The word ‘bastard’ still exists doesn’t it?

I don’t think you guys understand what Dele Momodu is playing at here. He isn’t famzing Davido, he is famzing the Adeleke’s. Don’t you gerrit? His cousin has given birth to the grandchild of a millionaire, billionaire or whatever “naire”. He is seeing the bigger picture, you guys are saying he put it out there so Davido can’t deny. Davido is small fry in the grand scheme of things. This Sophie girl is the most calculated of all the baby mamas. You can have a kid for a celebrity, but their income is forever tied to their status which can change any day. She had a baby for a gold mine, don’t you guys see that? They never need to get married. She is sorted and so is that child, for life. She will have access to the family house, the child is one of them and Yoruba’s by culture embrace such. No such thing as an illegitimate child in their culture. Ask your parents about stories of such children born to Yoruba dynasties, especially the ones that have money. The Tejuohos, the Ojora’s, The Bensons, The Okupe’s, The Sijuade’s, The Balogun’s (not the common one o, the original ones) and co. That child is an Adeleke, her mother is an “aya Adeleke”, he doesn’t need to marry her, she is seen culturally as one of the family because their tradition allows that a woman who has given you a child is technically your wife. I can’t write Yoruba but those that can can translate it. Dele Momodu is celebrating his family’s forever lasting connection to Davido’s family. Heck, by tradition, they have become in-laws and he must be rubbing his hands with glee.

“No such thing as an illegitimate child in their culture.”?

How about you only say what you really know?!

    • adelegirl

      May 20, 2015 at 8:42 am

Dear Opsy, Jane Public is absolutely right. There is no such thing as an illegitimate child in proper yoruba culture. A child born out of the bonds of a marriage ceremony has as much right to inheritance as those born within the bonds of a marriage. Once a woman has a child for you, she is basically a wife and her children will be accorded full benefits as those enjoyed by the legitimate wife. Forget modern distortions of the yoruba culture but this is the truth.

      May 20, 2015 at 3:44 pm

      Ade girl,
How about you say what you know?
There IS something called illegitimacy in Yoruba land.
Yes, the child may be accepted but, whoever Davido marries, her kids come before Sophie’s.

      May 19, 2015 at 6:26 pm

Waa a sere! What Momodu has done is strategic. “Eni bimo funi kuro, laleh eni” She is indeed “Aya Adeleke”

    • Ife

      May 19, 2015 at 9:58 pm

your head has never been too correct. LMAO. I am Yoruba and I cosign this message. “Eni ba bimo fun eni ti di iyawo eni” is the translation that you want and Dele Momodu is cashing in on that sharply. Announcing to the world that his family don hammer. If the Adeleke’s like this girl ehn, no other girl Davido will bring home will be good enough. He may never fall under the pressure to eventually marry her but let me warn any woman that has designs on becoming Mrs Davido. If his family likes Sophie and he marries you, gbabe that Sophie will be your Iyale a.k.a senior wife and you will treat her as such, even if she too marries someone else. I have seen it before even within my extended family. The wife was told to address and refer to her husband’s baby mama as Iyale because the woman came to the “family” before her and her child is the man’s eldest child. @Opsy go ask your parents. There is no such thing as an illegitimate child modern Yoruba culture. All na pikin. If you were referring to the phrase “omo ale” that is just the Yoruba term for “bastard” but that is just a phrase. Where it counts, Yoruba families accept children born outside wedlock, wella. Especially with Yoruba dynasties or families that have plenty money. Do you know how many of such the families she mentioned and more have? Pleeeeeeenty. I would rather a child out of wedlock than the abortions that girls from other cultures commit all in the name of i don’t want to be a single mother. I won’t mention cultures, but cough cough. una no which people dem dey abort pass because their culture no gree that kind thing. I no mention anyone name o but una know and dem know themselves. Lol

      May 20, 2015 at 3:45 pm

Rubbish! There are many Yoruba people who have girls who’ve given birth to them and these girls aren’t accepted by the family.

Icare, if you could read clearly without an impaired vision you would see where I said it is NOT ok to be a side piece or a toy. And you’d also have read where I said it’s ok to raise ur standards as a woman a la Bruno’s comment that also CLEARLY said women should stop settling for baby mama title. But u clearly can’t read so what can I do but suggest you get medical aid?

    • Icare

      May 19, 2015 at 3:57 pm

      Lol! Tomilola gone petty.
What point have you made now?
You stated women should raise their standards and ended with nothing wrong with having a child as a single lady(sleeping with a man to have one I suppose)
To which I will always disagree with.
State your case and don’t type a whole petty response.
Apparently, your standard isn’t raised after all.

but jane public said it so correct!!! this is the norm in the yoruba culture they have kids out of wedlock all the time!!! no shame no nothing. its just weird a chick was pregnant while davido was flaunting the other brown babe lol like idk thats fowl even if the him and the babymama are no together its still somehow biko.

    • Mayowa

      May 20, 2015 at 3:49 pm

Please stop being an airhead! Your comment is actually very mindless. MANY tribes have kids out of wedlock ALL the time, NOT just Yoruba’s. You’re being totally illogical. Hiss! You mean to say no other tribe have got kids outside wedlock but Yoruba’s? Exactly! I hate incomprehensible comments, and y’all will say it with so much certainty.

Buhhaahahah…Nigerians bunch of hyprocrites. So a whole lot of you who don spread your legs for men from here to kilimanjaro, (only difference is, u never carry evidence of your chook chook for 9 months) are now coming on BN forming respectable married women with “legitimate” kids/single and decent? How does that make you less irresponsible than this girl? And all dem holier than thou round table housewives, who were grinded jack rabbit style before securing the ring, how are y’ll different bikonu? . So because this child wasn’t born after the parents signed on a piece of paper makes him/her less of child? LOL ppl talking the kids don’t come out well when born out of wedlock, errr, what about Obama? a child is always a gift. Congratulations all who have done it within the confines of marriage, since that now is an achievement. But please get over yourselves, go sit in a corner, mind your marriage and “legitimate” children. If this works for them fine, men/women can come and go , but your child will always be your child. Y’ll women yapping on, hope y’lls “horzebands” don’t turn up one day with that “illegitimate” child none of you knew about, una go gentle mtchewww. I think we have a lot of kids on BN, I don’t understand how people can’t grasp that life happens. Please live and let live.

      May 19, 2015 at 5:35 pm

LOL…I have some of y’lls time today. Again bunch of judgmental hypocrites. Let me disappoint you by letting you know that, I was neither born outside of wedlock , nor have children out of wedlock. It just makes my body itch when I perceive a bunch of judgmental people. Heck even frigging Bruno “adodi” is castigating baby-mamas when he’s busy hopping dicks all over the place. Don’t condemn others because you sin differently….duh my username is VeryAngryNigerian” why do you have to repeat I’m angry??…babe swerve..

    • Funms

      May 19, 2015 at 5:38 pm

@ VeryAngryNigerian – You know what? Your head is there!

None of us chose the circumstance of our birth and being born “illegitimate” does not mean God doesn’t know about you or have a plan for your life. The condemnation borne by pregnant single women is purely from society and COMPLETELY man made! Being “born in “holy” matrimony just means your have been spared this particular societal judgment.

Unfortunately, “the bastards” will go through life, especially in formative years dealing with judgmental hypocrites who were likely made that way by their mean and bitter parents or other family members. But the bastard always survives in-spite of the rejection and pain. The bastard survives because God pass them!

Congrats to the new mum!…. E ku ewu omo o. Olorun a wo o, Olorun a da a si o. Amin

    • Lara

      May 19, 2015 at 6:58 pm

She said “bastard’ twice in reference to them, and then carries on with that sanctimonious comment. AND then ends with “God pass them”……babe stop throwing shade. You are a obviously a victim too of that very society you are trying to debunk.

    • Funms

VeryAngryNigerian, Is this your best shot?

    • VeryAngryNigerian

      May 19, 2015 at 4:34 pm

Yes sigh, it is. I can whip out some more if you’d like tho. I’m tired of all you judgmental people. Go fix your lives. One of our primal role in life is to re-procreate, now that it’s done within marriage or not is another debate. So it would be okay for him to have married her, and jump around with every girl in town ? At least that would make the child legitimate right? Also that would make the child grow up to be a “greek god”? We are talking about life here, I hate it when people rubbish it by saying things like “illegitimate” , ‘bastard” . Not when some of y’ll were conceived or born outside of marriage.

    • sigh

      May 19, 2015 at 6:01 pm

      @VeryAngryNigerian
Please do whip out some more. The term ‘judgemental’ is soo outdated. Is there nothing new your likes can bring to the table?
We are here to point out that the system of bringing kids ‘illegitimately’ is WRONG!
It is also being addressed here because it is something that CAN BE PREVENTED.
      How??
      Abstinence or protection!!!
If she knows him to be that irresponsible, that even when married and having a ‘legal’ offspring with him, he would still be prolly sleeping around, what is she doing with him?
Are responsible guys in extinction? Why pitch your life with someone that reckless?
If the truth is bitter for you to handle, go down some jars of honey.
But we won’t see wrong and name it right, so your type will brand us non-judgemental!

    • Kb

      May 20, 2015 at 1:34 am

You Thot stop yapping…. The child is here is here true… But because you don’t wanna judge does not the act acceptable, beside telling the truth is different from judging! Is this the kinda legacy you want to pass down to ur younger ones, kids, when u asked if its better to get married n have the baby then jump around, yes hood rat its better, cuz it saves one from that societal stigma! You say people sin differently shudnt make them talk about other people somehow true, but don’t hide behind that to be sinning, some sin are better than others, don’t do something that will follow you for the rest of ur life! But I guess our society has no value norms n moral these days!! In the name of not being judgemental do not encourage bad things! They are wrong they are wrong! What are Nigerian musicians tryna portray, don’t forget we are Africans and have our own culture and value, tho I don’t knw about your Nigerian culture I believe our religions both Christianity n Islam condemn it! So get over it and face the truth!
