He is in military police and was imposed by Gen Dambazzua his mentor. I read that this officer’s credentials is suspect and that he didn’t meet the minimum qualification when he went to NDA. I think Buhari needs to investigate this, we are now very sensitive to the people this new administration selects. We do not want people with mago mago qualifications on his team and certainly not someone that will be the closest to him. Gen. Dambazzua is very controversial and the understanding is that he his imposing all his northern boys from when he led the NDA inside this administration. Typically ADC(no written rules, though) come from a different part of the country than the president. I also learnt that the agenda his to be heavy on northerners. We didn’t go through this struggle to start this badly. We will be watching. The guy also isn’t polished-did you notice how he threw a folder at someone during the inauguration with anger? We are watching…

LMAO…we will just watch and see things unfold. Hausa people that don’t want other tribes in government because somewhere in their little minds they “own Nigeria”( the real reason they did not let Jonathan rule in peace).i just hope he(Buhari) meant all he said and it wasn’t just typed out by his media PR to read.

if he truly wants Nigeria to be a better place then i pray God gives him the wisdom to do so.

Wale, please do not write what you do not know, and incite hate or whatever. The new ADC had the credentials. I know this because we were classmates in Nigerian Military School, Zaria, before he went to Nigerian Defence Academy.

Always check your facts before posting. Thank you.

Bros, Wale was absolutely spot on! The Alego u knew then is not the same now o! He has a terrible record to say the least. He was no where compared to the other officers presented for the appointment, he was actually imposed on this man. There are strong rumors that PMB is not even happy with the officer but he is just playing it cool for now!

Wale, it is good to always verify stories before posting. That officer was 3 years my jnr at Nigerian Defence Academy. He attend Nigerian Military School were he was Boy/RSM ( Head Boy) and commanded the passing out parade . He is an above average officer. Yes ,he is in the same Mil Police Corp with Gen Danbazzau but remember someone has to recommend him. If you were told to nominate PA or SA to a minister, you will recommend someone you know and trust who can do the work. Should the ADC be found wanting, am sure PMB would not hesitate to discipline him.

Igbo or no Igbo, is not important. Unless, Nigeria is not a sovereign state. #One country. #United.

You know Nigeria still has a long way to go when its youth are still making tribalistic comments today. It’s not so much about the comments saying the president is from the north, ADC should be from elsewhere, because after all, it’s written into the constitution that we share governance based on ethic regions. However, those making disparaging comments about how the northerners “don’t want other tribes in government because somewhere in their little minds they ‘own Nigeria'( the real reason they did not let Jonathan rule in peace,)” is disappointing.

If we haven’t learned to embrace every tribe equally, some 50 years after, I wonder what our children are growing up to understand about their multicultural history. We won’t teach upcoming generations about our foundational history and the Civil War. But we won’t quite move on from it, still harboring deep-rooted bigotry against members of various tribes.

Which part of Nigeria did President Jonathan’s ADC come from? I know we get some unwritten rules/traditions for the sake of Nigerian unity eg VP has to be from a different zone than the President.
Is the ADC position similar? (For elected presidents)

    May 31, 2015 at 10:52 am

it saddens me to hear some of the kinds of comments that is spewed out by so called youths of Nigeria will you bring tribe matter into ADC… jonathan’s ADC was ijaw like himself and i don’t see any thing wrong in that so far he could be trusted to guard his principal with his life..such comments have their roots in extreme ignorance and stupidity and BN should not allow theses kinds comments …any more sometimes i think I’m in sdk blog with the kinds of comments i see on BN….. please revert back to the way things use to be on this blog……..thank you

Having an ADC is no longer necessary for our civilian government! This was carried over from the days of the military rule, civilian heads of states have bodyguards assignassigned to them instead.

    • nnenne

      May 31, 2015 at 1:28 pm

@ name nna… I was thinking about that. I have not heard of ADC, in the USA, though their presidents have guards. Are we not practicing presidential system of government?
What do I know? It could be same thing but different names.

    • nwa nna

      May 31, 2015 at 1:57 pm

@nnenne, the ADC stuff should no longer apply to a civilian government, that’s a position that should be assigned to a personnel from the secret sevice aka DSS.

Pleeaaase make we hear word! The appointment of an aide is a sensitive one, I would also do the same and I believe all if you talking would too. Lets wait for other appointments to be aired before we conclude on whether Buhari is being tribalistic or not, after all he didn’t pick someone from his state.
