#BETAwards2015: 8 Moments We Can’t Stop Talking about from Last Night
The 2015 BET Awards just wrapped up a few hours ago and it was a night filled with amazing music and performances that we won’t be forgetting in a hurry.
Big winners of the night include Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, and more!
Music icons Janet Jackson and Smokey Robinson were both honored during the show, and tons of celebs took the stage to perform throughout the evening.
If you missed it, the show will be shown again on Tuesday, June 30 but we have put together 8 moments that were highlights for us during the event!
Janet Jackson – the Ultimate Icon
Janet Jackson one of the major highlights of the 2015 BET Awards.
The 49-year-old singer made a rare appearance as she received the Ultimate Icon award for 2015 and she was all smiles as she thanked her fans for their support.

Rihanna & Her Duct Tape
For some weird reason, Rihanna had a roll of duct tape on her hand all night and we can’t figure out why except maybe it was for the simple reason that she’s Rihanna.
The singer had it on hand as she struck poses with other celebrities including Floyd Mayweather and more.
** Update – It turns out Rihanna’s duct tape was actually for people as she placed it over Floyd Mayweather, Boris Kodjoe & Nicole Ari Parker.

Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill were SO Cute
One couple that we definitely noticed during the 2015 BET Awards was Meek Mil and Nicki Minaj.
They were so cute and adorable as they stepped on the red carpet together, whispered to each other during the show, held hands on stage and more PDA moments.
We think we have a new celebrity couple crush!

P-Diddy’s Bad Boy Reunion
Diddy, Lil Kim, Jadakiss, Faith Evans, Mase and more ‘Bad Boy Entertainment’ stars hit the stage last night during the 2015 BET Awards for a much anticipated reunion.
They performed “Hypnotize”, “Feels So Good”, “Peaches and Cream”, “Never Knew Love Like This Before”, and “It’s All About The Benjamins.”
Pharrell Williams, French Montana, and The Lox joined the group at the end of the performance to pay tribute to the late Notorious B.I.G.
It was quite the performance and we’re not even counting the moment when Diddy accidentally fell through a hole in the middle of the performance.

Hosting Duties – Anthony Anderson & Tracee Ellis Ross
Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross were the hosts of the night and they did a fine job.
The two stars, took the stage as the show started for an opening number and they sang a hilarious parody of Estelle‘s “Conqueror.” The song mocked their careers, the industry and more – it even featured some flying and tumbling.
They also had quiet A LOT of wardrobe changes – but we are not complaining.
During the show there was a lot of shade being tossed around especially Trace Ellis Ross’ dig at Chris Brown, Tyga and Rachel Dolezal.

Performances
The performances were CRAY!!
There were so many artistes who performed at this year’s BET Awards that it is impossible to name them all but we’ll highlight a few.
Big Sean, Empire Cast, Ciara, Jason Derulo, Tinashe, Robin Thicke, Pattie LaBelle, Alicia Keys, The Weeknd, Janelle Monae, Chris Brown, Omarion, Fetty Wap, Kendrick Lamar, Neyo, Tyga, Jidenna, Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill, Tamar Braxton, K. Michelle and many more were on stage for the night to thrill the audience.
Big Sean’s performance was notable because it had such a positive message. He performed “One Man Can Change the World” as well as “Blessings”.
We saw a nice combination with Alicia Keys and The Weeknd performing.
Janelle Monae showed us her ‘Yoga’ skills.
Ciara, Jason Derulo & Tinashe did a marvelous tribute for Janet Jackon before she received her award for the night.
There was another lovely combination as Pattie LaBelle, Tamar Braxton and K. Michelle hit the stage.
Empire cast brought the heat!!
Chris Brown was spotted on stage a few times and one of his performances was pretty raunchy.

Michael B. Jordan’s Speech – Black Lives Matter
Actor Michael B. Jordan hit the stage at the BET Awards and gave a powerful speech about Black Lives Matter.
He said:
We’d like to take a moment to send out prayers and strength to our people in Charleston, South Carolina, who have endured but are prevailing over a horrific act of domestic terrorism. But because of that amazing resilience, and forgiveness of that community, the acts of that madman are having the exact opposite effect that he intended. All over South Carolina, love is triumphing over hate, the way it should.
Every year, at the BET Awards, we shine a light on individuals who make extraordinary contributions to our community, but this year we’re going to shine a light in a different way. Tonight, we shine a light in honor of the many men, women, and children who stood up, held signs, marched, took to social media, got arrested, or even laid down in protest as a part of the Black Lives Matter movement. We are shining a light on all of you. We are shining a light on the people of Ferguson, Baltimore, New York, Los Angeles, Cleveland, Oakland, North Charleston, South Carolina, and McKinley, Texas, and everywhere else in this country where we’ve had to find the strength to fight through the sorrow of losing innocent lives while simultaneously demanding the justice we so richly deserve.
BET is shining a light on you, for taking to the streets, insisting that Black Lives Matter, and being a constant reminder that we are not yet where we intend to be. Black Lives Matter. You matter. We see you, and we applaud your unbreakable, unshakeable strength. Thank you.
