This is to say he had a deal with PDP. Can y’all remember the last time tis happened with Tambuwal being endorsed by APC members even though he was in PDP. I give APC 2 years before they break up.

I have nothing against him emerging as the New Senate President. I actually admire him (chuckles…) But the whole thing was more of a drama! Not all elected senators were seated, even his swearing in a was done so fast enh…many thanks to ‘The Clerk of the National Assembly’
And the look in David Mark eyes was just greenish!!! While Ekweremadu sitting next to Mark was just in another world to find his fate as quickly as possible!
What a Drama!!! Still on I guess!

Either way, apc will still lose if the 27 senators for Saraki refused to vote. APC should be very grateful that Saraki saved there sorry behind.

On the matter on ground, when I heard the news I was a tad bit disappointed since I was hoping that this senate president seat will go to the SE. I understand that they played theirselves out of the game by not leaving any seats to APC, but I just felt somewhere somehow APC would have been lenient, but the game of politics is the game of interest (note to self). They say Saraki is a friend to all so let’s see how that goes. The while brouhaha surrounding it is enough to tell you that APC will not last.

APC, a congregation of strange bed fellows. This fraudulent bunch of people preach change and democracy yet, there is a distinct lack of internal party democracy. Change has been the APC mantra on which the party snuck through the back door to power. This is 2015, why would a party that prides itself on CHANGE impose a candidate on the senate? The APC is colonised by power cabals who deem themselves beyond reproach. Well, change is truly here. Saraki is not an epitome of integrity, but his cohorts hv spoken. Buhari tie you wrapper wella. Tinubu l hope ur anti hypertensive medication are nearby. Abuja no be Lagos.

Saraki is not Tifnubu’s choice. Lawan is. Can you imagine Saraki kneeling down to beg Tinubu like the “traitor of Ubima” did. (I hail the commenter who coined this. Apologies ‘cant remember the name) Pedigree gats level. I don’t care for Saraki but Tinubu gats to be cut to size. You Fashola’s groupies (credit @Warizdiz.) Have you sat down to ask yourself why Fashola is being messed around by Tinubu? There is just so much a man who knows his worth can stomach.

Hmmmm I smell something fishy, not that I endorsed anybody but something isn’t right. 51 senators including Sen. Ahmed Lawan were absent. I read in news that Buhari requested to meet with the senators at 9am and before 10am Sen Saraki was already sworn in as SP – So probably the election took place when most of the APC Senators were meeting with PMB. Not Fair!! Well I can’t say for sure what happened in the red chambers that ushered Senator Saraki in. We shall wait for news behind the news.
On the other note: Saraki last minute action cut across as someone desperate. If APC must stand the test of time then party members should be ready to sacrifice for the common good of the party and should remember that nobody is above the party.

      Dear Missy,
I watched it. Saraki was adopted unopposed by the 75 senators present.
20 senators voted for Ali Ndume while 54 senators voted for Ike Ekweremmadu for the position of the deputy senate president. There was one abstention.
      Only 34 senators were absent.

    • Missy J

      June 9, 2015 at 1:04 pm

LOL..Kikiki why in tears?? Nah my Papa be Lawan? Naaah!!! In GEJ’s admin heavens didn’t fall when both President and vice were from PDP and SP from APC, so having both the President, his vice and SP from one party won’t move a stone.
Thanks Madee for that clarification cause what I commented was what I read in News.
Congrats to Saraki. For me all that matters is good governance.

    • lotana

      June 9, 2015 at 1:34 pm

The reason l love the PDP is that NOBODY owns the party. Find ur way/prove urself and you can be anything you want to be. There was freedom to speak your mind. Which was why Tambuwal could misbehave as he did for so long. It was an embarrassment. Karma is a fat ass bitch. But in ACN/CPC which later morphed into APC, there were clear owners as if the party was a cage filled with chickens. Tinubu simply slaughtered you when he was hungry. He imposed a lot of political neophytes. Wife Senator, Son-in-Law, daughter, nieces, nephews. Party spokes person – Lair Mohammed – his son. Segun Osoba before he was caged – his son etc. Now, those PDP renegades who taught you how to win will be the end of you. Imagine if that traitor of Ubima is not made anything – Buhari go run. They should make Amaechi an Ambassador to one far away land. Anyways, like OBJ said….I dey laugh o.

Isn’t it that Buhari will prefer Saraki who isn’t Tinubu’s stooge to be the Senate President instead of his stooge Lawan? Buhari’s eyes are very open to the craftiness of Tinubu. Don’t be fooled.

Nigerian politics is just a huge recycling plant. We take the term “recycling” to a whole new level when it comes to politics in Nigeria. It’s always the same old same. It’s either the person was a former rep, senator, governor, minister or president. There is always a “former”. Once in a while we add a bit of fresh manure to keep the recycling plant going.

  30. Beeeee

    June 9, 2015 at 3:01 pm

@Missy J, its “just” deputy speaker and leader of senate? JUST? really? “Just” that threatened to tear APC apart after less than 3 weeks as the ruling party ? If PDP were dead and buried, they wouldn’t have any say in who becomes Senate President and Deputy Senate President…..they have played their role in the opposition well. Most of my close friends who are APC supporters admit that PDP played their cards right in this case. . I am glad that our democracy is growing….slowly, definitely, but its growing. PDP is not dead and buried, they are enjoying their role in opposition and both parties are still chopping money while you and I are on Bella Naija wasting data… I do not carry politics on my head as if its a do or die affair.. If a PDP person does something wrong, I speak against it. So, my darling, keep buhahahah-ing there okay, they are buhahahah-ing all the way to the bank.

Somebody please help us check JAGABAN’S Blood pressure abeg, after all the politicking, lies, deciet, hypocrisy and wanting his anionted GBAJABIAMILA to win at all costs, i always said it back in 2011 when they rejected Mrs Mulikat Ajande as Speaker, and the same Gbajabiamila who was the Minority Leader Under the ACN then spearheaded all those propaganda and decietful moves that his own day will come, wel here we are. They havent seen anything yet, in this New APC, there will be the Factions of the Northern CPC, Western ACN/AD who knows we just might have another opposition from APC & PDP to form the APDPC.
And kudos to PMB although he is still not my choice, i love his personal decision to stay out of all these proceedings. Tinubu will surely fall… I repeat. LAGOS IS NOT NIGERIA. We are surely bigger than you.
