Online sources quote him as saying:

That’s a black mamba, the fastest land snake, very aggressive and poisonous, it is rated 4th most venomous snake…the guy is lucky …

That snake is not a black mamba. The markings on the snake are indicative of the snake’s “constrictor” grouping…By the way the black mamba is actually the deadliest snake in the world due to it’s speed, aggressiveness and the potency of it’s venom.

@Ada Nnewi, a constrictor snake can never be as tiny as this,(as the name implies “constrictor” that size cannot tie and swallow you it can only bite) we have constrictors and venomous species, constrictors are common python and boa while venomous comprises of the cobras, adders, vipers (from the pit vipers and cotton mouth) mambas (were we have green and boomslangs), Taipans ( were we have have the Australian and inland taipan) , Cobras (King cobras and the indian krait) etc…[email protected] you are right, but since the interior of the snakes mouth is not seen, you can identify it with the pattern of the body not by its color as you can see its not black color per say, you can see the shape of the head and length, @ kelly i love snakes not for anything so i’m doing a research on snakes, y i chose the name “Taipan” it is arguably the worlds most venomous snake, one strike can kill 100 human, i just love it because of its character

That snake is a baby constrictor…abeg stop displaying your ignorance… only the babies are dumb enough to not stay hidden…

That snake is a baby constrictor…You should know that the babies grow that long before they get fat if you’re really a reptilian expert like you claim…btw you’re not the only one hooked on snake shows on Nat Geo wild, Animal Planet and the Discovery channel ;p

      June 24, 2015 at 8:59 am

btw you can’t see the shape of this particular snake’s head cause it’s already been crushed by the people that killed it…

@Ada Nnewi, i did not insult you, so don’t tell me i’m displaying my ignorance, i’m only educating you because you know noting about snakes,… a constrictor can never be found in that terrain, it is mostly found in swamps, they mostly wait for a pray because of their slow nature, like the guy in question said, it was coming after him, a constrictor cannot go after what “he” cant swallow…since we both agree on the aggressiveness, the specie cannot be a constrictor but rather a venomous snakes and taking a look at the venomous snakes found in west Africa, ( gabbon viper, puff adder, rattle and mambas etc.) I’m 100% sure that is a mamba because they all have different looks

Do you know that Lagos is predominantly swamp land…

thank you for the fact.. but biko why is your username Taipan.. (also the name of a kind of snake).. or are you a tipan in the spiritual realm??

A black mamba can only be identified by the black interior of its mouth not by pattern or whatever so you cannot say if its a black mamba from the photo given.

Ada Nnewi, a leopard can never change its spots. Taipan explained himself eloquently which is a sign of intelligence even if he were wrong. But you? Insults. A clear evidence of inability to argue intelligently. Since the elections campaign ended we can now see that you have nothing upstairs. Emty shell for a big head.

Shebi dem say you go yaba left? When did you return?

@a real nigerian. In as mich as I don’tbelieve in superstitions, I believe some things that happen in the physical have already been settled in the spiritual realm. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood………… I’m not saying this case is spiritual o.
Why am I even telling you this? You will definitely twist my words. You’ve always made it clear that you are an atheist. No need explaining boo. Never mind?

Need to publish the hotel though and let them know and let state licensing officials know so they can clean up this mess. If there is one snake, it most likely has siblings hunting pray.
Glad you killed it, because the story could have been different

God saved him sha. The bite of a black mamba is called the kiss of death. Its the fastest and certainly the most dangerous snake because it attacks 1st and it strikes around the upper body area. Kills a full grown human in 10mins. They shouldnt av killed the snake tho. Its going towards extinction already. Wen na inside bush dem go go dey build hostels encroachin the natural habitants of these animals
