I can’t vote for any of them. None of them qualify to be mbgn. This contest should be called wowo girls of Nigeria and Africa. Who even gave them d ridiculous costumes

      October 24, 2015 at 2:30 pm

U must be so sad… Eyaaa

    • Ogo

      October 24, 2015 at 3:42 pm

why call them wowo? They might not be the fairest in all the land but you don’t have to be insulting

    • ATL's finest

      October 24, 2015 at 5:44 pm

@ Adeyinka did U just say wowo? Well I think most of them actually look better in their trad outfit. Ms. Edo, your attire is one of the easiest attire & I just think she could have done a lot better instead of all that bead-ish..a better red fabric would ve been great.

    October 24, 2015 at 10:18 am

Beautiful girls.. The fulani attire is too much na organisers

    • ko

      October 25, 2015 at 4:28 am

EXACTLY considering the fact that the North has over 100 tribes. Very lazy on the part of the organizers. I mean Fulani for Kaduna?

    • Helen

      October 25, 2015 at 8:41 am

I don’t think you know much about the north… Yes they have several tribes but most of the core north have the same cultural attire so it is very difficult to have variety.
For your comment about Kaduna what is the traditional attire of the Zaria or Southern Kaduna people? Simple answer- the southern kaduna people don’t have one and the Zaria people wear what the rest of the North does
Having all your fact before commenting helps

    October 24, 2015 at 10:26 am

Why do I have a feeling that miss Kano would win?

    October 24, 2015 at 10:30 am

    Igbo girls everywhere

    • mina

      October 24, 2015 at 11:09 am

Yes I noticed that too… Most of them have igbo names tho. Anyway good luck to all of them.

    October 24, 2015 at 10:59 am

Is this mbgn I or mbgen(most beautiful girl in eastern nigeria), because virtually all contestants are ibo. Besides I don’t agree with a lot of how the traditional attires were worn, organisers and contestants should get their facts right and stop confusing the beautiful ones that are not yet born biko.

    • Ola

      October 24, 2015 at 2:11 pm

When an Igbo girl wears an Ekiti attire, shouldn’t you be expecting her to wear it wrong with no pride.

  8. jasmine

    October 24, 2015 at 11:00 am

Abeg o, we Igbos tie two wrappers and not all this jor. Haba

    • Beeeee

      October 24, 2015 at 11:55 am

And the Bayelsans too, we tie two wrappers. I assumed they put Miss Bayelsa in that because there are several igbo states too. But non of those states are in two wrappers not even Rivers and Delta too…. Smh. Yes we do all the beads and stuff too but it would have been nice for at least 3 states to tie the two wrappers. That is the more common form of dressing

  9. Prince

    October 24, 2015 at 11:10 am

Miss Ebonyi and Imo, are those your traditional attire including you Zamfara. Yoruba Trad is still the best even though I’m from south-south. That Miss Bayelsa ugly pass OBJ.

      October 24, 2015 at 1:07 pm

I did a double take on the Zamfara attire.
let Sharia get a hold of you Nyarinya!

  12. temitope

    October 24, 2015 at 12:09 pm

    • frank teacher

      October 24, 2015 at 1:09 pm

  13. 'Diddie

    October 24, 2015 at 12:45 pm

Now theses photos rock. Our traditional attires are our pride. Love this compared to the former photos shown

  14. Krasavitsa

    October 24, 2015 at 1:13 pm

If Miss Abuja had to wear the map of Abuja and an eagle crown, then the winner (I’m guessing she’s been chosen and already knows herself) should start preparing her “Map of Nigeria” outfit complete with the coat- of- arms crown.

  15. Laffgal

    October 24, 2015 at 1:24 pm

Whorappen with the gele on tye girls representing yoruba states? Is it that the organisers cannot afford a better gele artist. or a better stylist., The ipele on Miss Lagos is rumpled, the Zamfara is a no-no, i hope hausa people no go protest for una head.

  16. Rav

    October 24, 2015 at 1:34 pm

  19. Ifii

    October 24, 2015 at 2:25 pm

I thought the contestants should be from their states or indigenes of their state? And I thought notherners like to cover up when they dress shouldn’t the contestants emulate that as well? Why can’t this things be scrapped already.

  20. missatl

    October 24, 2015 at 2:26 pm

  23. Liz

    October 24, 2015 at 3:35 pm

I don’t know why most people just assume that the Fulani attire, is the only kind of attire found in northern Nigeria. Many people are ignorant of the fact that there is difference between the Fulani attire, the Hausa attire, and even that used by Southern northerners(the predominantly Christian Northerners). The northern contestants need to do better research about costuming next time .

  24. Nnechi Spicy

Please I am going for Queen of Emerald, how do I get miss bauchi’s traditional attire.. Please help

  25. Nwanma

    October 24, 2015 at 4:54 pm

Lmao! The Hausa/Fulani girls are still under religious restrictions,as for the Yoruba ladies,i don’t know their way about. Why wouldn’t igbo dominate mbgn? Nobody stopped other ethnicities from participating,so make we hear word.
As for those asking about igbo two wrappers. A ‘Miss’ or a single igbo lady does not tie two wrappers. No point asking them to wear what married women wear.

  26. vien

    October 24, 2015 at 9:04 pm

I have to say I’m impressed with the costumes this year. The stylist definitely made an effort. The only ish was the overkill on the Fulani costume – I’m sure there are other variations of Northern fashion, haba!

And those collapsed Yoruba geles, maka why? Do you want some of our grandmothers to start rolling in their graves?

  31. Jennyokris

    October 24, 2015 at 11:21 pm

The miss Lagos and miss Ogun should not be contesting at all. Igbo babes rock with beauty and brains even representing other states. #Igbokwenu

    October 25, 2015 at 6:18 pm

I would just like to understand something and this is not to rain on anyone’s parade. Why is at least 90% of the girls ibo? I thought the purpose of MGBN is to showcase the uniqueness and beauty of the ladies from their OWN particular state? Instead it is like everyone just draws sticks to determine which ‘state’ they come from. That in itself should be a disqualifier to any lady who doesn’t hail from that state….just my two cents

  35. corzonb

    October 26, 2015 at 12:01 am

SHWOO na only my Igbo sister dey this contest o. After a while, I just started scrolling just to see their names. LMBO common now NIGERIANS I know we Igbo girls are fine but ahh, Im sure some correct Fulani girls could have represented for the North. #cheatmuch #riggedmuch Im from Anambra state and I dont support this hot mess..
PS: the designer of that calabash boobs and cowry nipples needs to be fired!

  36. rahyourbinde

    October 26, 2015 at 11:48 am

that’s the problem we have in this country, are we not all the same igbo, hausa and yoruba. lets stop this tribalism and focus on how to make Nigeria a greater nation but those yoruba ladies gele ko make sense rara.

  37. jays girl

    October 26, 2015 at 1:27 pm

  38. Abimbola vera

    October 26, 2015 at 11:19 pm

Those geles look scary, looks like d girls brought their costumes themselves.. As usual d whole thing is a sham, each lady should represent their state not dis Ibo girl contest every year… Mtchhheeww

  39. precious

    October 31, 2015 at 5:10 pm

U guys that are saying the Igbos are everywhere and representing other states…..pls oh if u want to contest and u r from imo and someone else from imo is already contesting, so u’ld drop?? If the northern girls aren’t forthcoming nd won’t pick forms, will the spaces b left vacant, is it not to fill it up with those bold enough to buy the forms, boys it’s most beautiful girl in Nigeria and they are all Nigerians abi not withstanding the tribe they represent, u should give dem credit cos it’s not easy to contest, to b from another state and try to represent a different state traditionally….stop sitting back nd insulting them, they wanted dis, they went for it and Miss Anambra congrats, u r a dark-skinned girl, was beginning to think mbgn was only for light-skinned girls these days.
