Trendy & Decent…Here’s How Teens of the RCCG’s City of David rocked the 2nd Edition of Genesis Fashion Show

History was made again on the 17th of December 2015 as The Genesis Fashion Show 2 held.

The event was conceived and created by the teenagers of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) City of David (Next Generation), who decided to take a stand to say “Yes! You can indeed dress decently and still be fashionable, trendy, classy and beautiful. Yes! You do not have to be naked to be appreciated or noticed.”

The maiden edition was in 2014 and this year, it exceeded the expectations of all.

The event had teenagers as models on the runway and most of the beautiful designs were put together by teenagers. The designers were put together by kids aged 9 to 19.

One of the revelations at the show was 9 year old designer Folasayo with the label Lagos Lovely who stole everyone’s heart with her delectable designs and eventually won the award of the best young designer that night. She will be mentored by popular designer Toju Foyeh for one year.

There were also amazing performances. Some celebrities who graced the occasion were Uti Nwachukwu, Mai Atafo, Toju Foyeh, Obijie Oru of Byge Collection, Titi Oyinsan of Inspiration FM , Ayo Thompson of CoolTV, Chichi Umeseaka (Chichi and her teens) of Inspiration FM and more.
The Show was anchored by Olumide Oworu of MTV Shuga and Simi Adejumo of CoolTV.

Of course they will! And you wonder on what basis? How can they get saved when they have not heard the gospel!
Romans 10:14…How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Only in Nigeria will a preacher ‘gist’ about financial prosperity with qoutes from worldly business men and end the sermon with ‘If you want to give your life to christ’ Like where’s the connection…?
You don’t even give your life to christ! It is a wrong notion! God gave His son to us! But that’s for another day..
I am a Christian and some times it’s appalling what I see going on in the church nowadays! God help us!!

so what if they do alter call? is preaching the gospel and trying to make people come to christ limited to a specific people, audience, time or place? keep it up people its always not easy to be different but dare to be even if its only one person who comes for the first don’t stop trying for that much

I’m confused. Are the clothes for teenagers or adults? Would have loved to see fashionable pieces for the teens. It seems geared towards young adults like college or working class. Might explain the empty seats. Or perhaps the teens are away in boarding school. Me I don’t know again but this was hmnnn

It’s your level of maturity that is questionable. That someone said an alter call would be done after this programme did not mean it( the alter call) was condemned or praised. Then ask your self how many people you have told about the love of God or even demonstrated through practical actions what the love of God is about. Every one has a right to like a comment. Please beg Bella Naija to enable dislike buttons so you can use more than one device to counter the no of likes( 18 kpere) and never ever question any ones maturity based on clicking the like button. Go and move Gods kingdom forward dear. Cheers

Pls Bellanaija, stop censoring our comments where there are no libelous statements . I don’t have to love a church you love. If you are a Christian, then you will believe that the Bible is our manual and standard.

I just feel there should be a difference btw d world and the church, most especially with all these beauty paegants and fashion, its so easy to hide under civilization but all these stuffs takes us farther away from God cos God is still d same he doesn’t change, but then who am I to judge?God knows best, I just feel we should draw the like

We thank God for a successfully Fashion Show, and by the grace of God 2016 Genesis Fashion Show will be more awesome and funfilled. Genesis Fashion Show is organised to give teenagers the chance to express their fashion lifestyle and the theme for 2015 edition was ‘beauty in decency’ Matthew 5:16. So please those of you cursing or mocking our show, keep your thoughts to yourself because only God can judge us.
Thank you and God bless you.
