Emmy Kasbit’s SS’16 ‘Disturbia’ Collection Is The Brand’s Most Idyllic Presentation Yet!
The Emmy Kasbit brand has indeed arrived! From the brand’s good grasp of colours (and how to spin it to their advantage), to the flow of ideas expertly executed in varying degrees—case in point are the neatly cut and unorthodox asymmetrical hemlines and the belting technique used to draw the eyes further down the waist line to the muteness and peacefullness of it all—which we really can’t explain further (please don’t ask us to), it is without a doubt that Emmy Kasbit has finally found a balance between his menswear and womenswear without losing sight of his vision.
According to the designer—the Disturbia collection is meant to be a distraction. It is generally inspired by certain elements of nature that can cause distraction. The collection talks about a world where your outfit is a distraction and the only thing people want to see are the cuts and wavy shape that goes with your movement as you walk….
We can’t say for a fact that we are distracted by any bit of this collection but what we do know is that—this is what a fashion nirvana looks like—a tranquil point where faultless finishing, functionality and wearability interfaces with forward thinking imagination and the unfamiliar seamlessly!
