It’s no news that our economy is undergoing some adjustment which I personally believe will eventually enhance the creativity of Nigerians hence boosting entrepreneurial activities in the country but in the main time, it is important to master how to stay stylish on a budget.

Accessories give you super powers! They give a lady the ability to wear one outfit several times but all in different ways. So I strongly advise all prudent fashionistas to invest in certain types of accessories that are not too expensive but will enable you keep heads turning all through 2016!

Endeavor to stock-up on the following –

Pearl Earrings

Pearl earrings (real/imitation pearls, All join!)  come as simple studs or with some form of stone or metal addition. However they come, pearl earrings usually complement every type of day wear, be it a corporate, smart casual or a casual look. Pearl earrings gives you a good dose of understated elegance and are the perfect piece to rock when you cannot afford to look glitzy.

Statement Earrings

Its important to invest in some interesting earrings. Avoid wearing boring earrings this year. We all get to attend occasions and events and it’s important we complement our looks with attention-grabbing Stud/drop earrings. Sparkly drop earrings are usually a winner and tend to do good justice to most party looks especially our aso-ebi/traditional looks. So feel free to ditch the  beads and invest in some sparkle.

A Choker

Chokers seem to be making a big come back. Good thing about them is they give every outfit an instant edge. They are fun and easy to wear, so we recommend you invest in one or two to help you give a good re-rock to some of those forgotten clothes in your wardrobe.

A pair of cool Sunglasses

There’s loads of cool sunglasses designs these days, you’d be spoilt for choice so just make sure you choose what fits the shape of your head (will write on this soon). Invest in a color that describes you and a design that gives you a “too cool for school” appearance every where you go.

A long necklace

So this may seem really simple and can easily be overlooked but you’ll be amazed what difference a nice long necklace (with a cool pendant of course) can make to your whole getup. It can easily switch up your day/night look and make you come off as though you put some thought to your look (even when you know you didn’t). Consider investing in a gold or silver one to enable you play around with tones easily and be sure to have earrings to match the respective tones.

Rings

Rings cover a multitude of fashion sins, trust me! Invest in rings that are functional, not too big so you are able to wear them with your day and night looks. A few knuckle rings can do the magic or better still, one or two medium sized rings with quirky designs, will do the trick. If you love to wear toe rings, then you can consider investing in one that can double up as a knuckle ring as well. There’s just something about a chick that wears a ring or two!(not a wedding ring o!)

A Cuff

A cuff bracelet is a good way to make a style statement especially when you double them up. Invest in one or two,  preferably different tones and you can wear cuffs on both hands on days you need to make a statement or need that one accessory to do all the talking for you.

These are a few essentials I recommend for 2016, will you like to add anything to this list? Please share!
