Fellas will you take it? First Male Contraceptive Injection may launch soon

Couple in BedWhile women have pills, implants, injections and more options, other than condoms, the only other contraceptive for men is a vasectomy.

This may be changing soon as scientists have revealed a male contraceptive injection which may be available soon.

The injection is called Vasalgel. It is described as “non-hormonal and long-acting” and has been shown to block sperm for up to 12 months.

Clinical testing is planned to begin in 2016.

Dr Elaine Lissner, executive director of the Parsemus Foundation confirms that the shot consists of styrene-alt-maleic acid (SMA) that is dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide. Therefore, Vasalgel could be the first long-acting, non-hormonal, potentially reversible male contraceptive to reach market.

So fellas, with all the baby mama drama, will you be willing to try this?

This will be an uber hit, particularly here in the US and Canada where men are drowning in a sea of child support payments, particularly from “professional baby mamas” who like to secure 18 years of financial stability.
If a liberal govt comes into power, then the whole idea may never get FDA approval to hit the market.

I don’t know about Nigeria though. We don’t like joke with our fertility

2baba would have benefited from it too sha.
I was having this conversation with my friend the other day that if his future asked him to get a vasectomy would he? Especially if they have finished having all the kids they want and she cannot use contraceptives (some women get migraines from them both the pill and the implant, and those coil are not advisable) so if he wanted skin on skin gbenshing someone had to take one for the team and the woman could not for medical reasons.. My guy started to cough and splutter all over the place on top simple question. lool. I hope this is true. Men too should use contraceptives. This way, they can “categorically” deny the paternity of the baby as they just had their shot. lool. Although I think giving guys shots is taking the “all men are dogs” mantra a bit too literal 😛

Never it’s too risky for now lol. It’s alright that they have it available but for now I think it is still too risky to be used. They are still testing it biko :D. As a young O.G who hasn’t even started rocking life, I will pass on this lol.

I am particularly happy to hear this. I have always wondered at some peripheral part of my mind what i would do for family planning when the time comes. You see, i hate pills, i cannot even swallow paracetamol to relieve a headache, and injections and patches do not really appeal to me. So it would be nice if the man takes care of that department.
Its actually quite balanced – i do the conception and he does the contraception, shikena!

This is a good innovation. Some beings blame women for eating and not exercising thus become fat after child birth without being aware most women are on some contraceptives that temper with hormones which trigger weight gain.
Men oya take over contraceptive part make women rest biko.

“Fellas will you take it”? Really?! They better. Women put all sorts in their system and men enjoy the free ride. Time to walk in those shoes and experience all that goes along with it.
