The 2016 Billboard Music Awards held yesterday and apart from the fab red carpet looks (click here if you missed it), there were several moments of the show that stood out for us.
Here are our 7 unforgettable highlights from the BBMAs!
Prince Tribute – Madonna & Stevie Wonder
To honour music legend Prince, Billboard tapped two other music legends – Madonna and Stevie Wonder. Even though the reception to their performance was lukewarm, the two stars gave the performance their all and it was one of the most talked about highlights of the night.
Watch the performance below.
Celine Dion’s First Performance
48-year-old singer Celine Dion had an emotional moment on stage after she was presented with the Icon Award by her son. She got emotional with him standing by her side as she shared how she is constantly trying to be strong for her family.
During her acceptance speech she said ““Rene, this one’s for you. The show must go on”
The singer who lost her husband and brother to cancer this year performed for the first time since the event and she blew everyone away.
Co-host of the night Ciara changed into a bunch of looks at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards after walked the red carpet in a risque silver dress by Phillip Plein. The 30-year-old entertainer co-hosted the awards show alongside Ludacris and she wore seven different looks throughout the night. From Naeem Khan to Michael Costello and more, see her looks below.
Adele’s New Video – Send My Love (To You New Lover)
Adele was one of the big winners of the night, winning the award for Top Artist of the year, and even though she could not be at the event to receive her award, she shared her love with her fans via a video that was shown at the event.
The award-winning singer also premiered her new music video for the first time and it is also a winner.
Rihanna belted out her song “Love on the Brain” from the Anti album and it was an amazing vocal performance. She also won the Billboard Chart Achievement Award which was voted for entirely by her fans!
Kesha’s Return to Stage
After an on-again off-again promise of performing at the Billboard Music Awards, Kesha was allowed to perform by Dr. Luke who had canceled her performance at the awards show earlier in the week.
For her performance Kesha took the stage in a white suit to give a moving tribute performance in honor of Bob Dylan and she sang his classic song “It Ain’t Me Babe.”
There were so many other performances of the night that stood out – from Justin Bieber to Britney Spears, Pink, Meghan Trainor, Ariana Grande and more.
