BattaBox spoke to some of the organisers of the event as well as Nigerians who came to see the event and it’s safe to say most of them were not disappointed. “I’m extremely proud of these women, they’re the women to watch” – Miss Nigeria 2016 event planner.
The pageant featured 18 girls from across Nigeria’s 36 states who live in America, and the competition included swimsuit display, evening gowns, traditional dances and talent displays and much more – as each girl strutted their stuff on the stage.
At the end of the night, the judges decided on ‘Miss Ekiti’ – Lola Adeoye. Her platform will focus on suicide and depression awareness and prevention – a cause she says is dear to her heart.
The judges were Osas Ighodaro-Ajibade, DPiper Twins, Ngozi Opara of Heat Free Hair, celebrity stylists Kanayo Ebi and Moses “Moashy” Ebite, Hana Unis, A.J Ross of ABC 7 News and Essence Magazine’s Charreah Jackson.
