The search for Miss Kanekalon 2016 is on and it’s sure to be even more exciting, as it has expanded entry applications to include single African woman residing in Nigeria or Ghana between the ages of 18- 25.

Each applicant must team up with her own hairstylist to apply through www.misskanekalon.com.

Over the years, the definition of beauty has been forced to fit into a box. But over the past year, thanks to Miss Kanekalon, the term ‘African beauty’ has been broadened to include confidence and pursuit of dreams.

In 2015, Esther Chiamaka Chukwujekwu was crowned the first ever Miss Kanekalon, with Abisola Salawu and Elma Mbadiwe in first and second runner-up positions, respectively. The Miss Kanekelon pageant boldly celebrated true African beauty, with a line-up of single Nigerian ladies with good character and poise, redefining the essence of beauty.

The Miss Kanekalon pageant celebrates the outstanding beauty of the young African woman and is about to support another African beauty’s dream – just like its reigning Queen who won a brand new Toyota Yaris 2015 and went home with a whopping N2million! The Miss Kanekalon platform has given Esther great exposure and a strong voice in the beauty industry. She has also mentored children to aim higher, with her contributions to the “I help one charity organization”.

This year, a brand new car, N2million and a dazzling crown are up for grabs.
