Mo Abudu

Mo Abudu

What an amazing week Mo Abudu has had!

Her second feature film ‘The Wedding Party’ premiered on the opening night of the ongoing Toronto International Film Festival with rave reviews from critics and festival-goers alike and on Sunday night, she celebrated her birthday with an intimate group of her EbonyLife TV team, TIFF Directors, Business allies and Industry mates in Toronto’s Downtown exclusive celebrity hotspot, Momofuku Daisho.

Yesterday, she joined the City to City panel at the TIFF Industry Conference at the Glenn Gould Studio. The panel focused on “Nigerian Cinema 2016: At the forefront”.

Earlier in the week, she was featured in Variety Magazine and quoted as saying I think it’s [TIFF] an opportunity for the world to see what we can do”.

See photos of her dinner below.

Gosh! All i see is genevive, she is so gracious. You can’t even hate

  2. Busarni

    September 13, 2016 at 10:21 am

    Slaynevieve be intimidating Omoni since 1900BC; She is Major KEY. Uche and Ufuoma looking breath taking… HBD Mo;

    • Pipul

      September 13, 2016 at 12:25 pm

Misinformation often leads to asumptions and then malice, anager and jeaslousy including much more! Please…..start by correcting your mind ok, THERE’S N BEEF OR INTIMIDATION between Genevieve and Omoni. They are just #WorkColleagues – one senior and the other after – simples!

    • Busarni

      September 13, 2016 at 1:04 pm

Well, Omoni should acknowledge the fact that the likes of Gene, kate, rita paved the way for her. Give honor and respect to whom its due to; I don’t trend on hear say; i know the real ish
. You either deal with it or you bounce off my comment.
Fake @nene; gene is not an easy person to get along with? Lol; you are insane. Omoni come and get your trolls before i descend on them..

    • Mark

      September 14, 2016 at 7:12 am

Some people are always fishing for the wrong things; they never see good in anything or anywhere and that sadly is humanity ☺☺

    • Nene

      September 13, 2016 at 12:25 pm

There’s no intimidation, they don’t get along, which is weird cuz they were in a few emem isong films together. With Genevieve, you either get along with her or not. She’s not an easy person to be friends with.

    • Anon

      September 13, 2016 at 12:58 pm

Interesting! I had to look at the pictures again.

    • The Real Oma

      September 13, 2016 at 1:21 pm

@Anon, me too, i had to go look at the pictures again and i could not find the ‘beef’ between Genny and Omoni. :))
Everyone looks amazeballs. Somkele, i love those colours on you, and your hair is always goals..

    • ATL's finest

      September 13, 2016 at 1:50 pm

@ Nene lmao ‘ U either get along with her or not’. ( Is she God)? She’s not an easy person to get along with *maybe true* if u say so. I don’t know these folks in person. However, everyone knows where their strength lies. Personally, most of these celebs, I can’t tell U I have anyone I Gosh for or droll for lol. I can compliment an outfit that’s just about it. Ok maybe Riri???. Just to an extend too. Rita Dominic isn’t bad to admire. Bottom line, they r all grown women & can choose who to get along with or not. After all, everyone is paying their own BILLS.

Uche Jumbo’s natural hair is looking naturally unkept. Please no make Natural hair tire person.

    • Gr8

      September 13, 2016 at 2:09 pm

They are not FRIENDS, but they are not ENEMIES either, just COLLEAGUES – and in Omoni’s words ‘a senior one at that’!. Are you friends with everyone you work with because i certainly am not TBH.
You shouldn’t let the likes of Busarni get you to loose your cool. I know them both and they have common collegues/turned friends they BOTH GET ALONG with, so pls we can’t all be buddies because we work together now surely?
I’m surprised you didn’t mention that other colleagues such as: Kemi Adetiba, Wale ojo, Adesua Etomi, Somkele and co didn’t ‘get selfies’ with each other or did you see Ireti Doyle take selfies with Omoni or Genevieve, why didn’t you point that out hmm…? Stop stirring trouble where there’s none #fans Work is work, and Play is play – simples! We can’t all agree or BE EACH OTHER’S BFFs, that’s what makes the world go round!

    • linda

      September 13, 2016 at 3:46 pm

I think they just happen to be in the same industry.. I don’t see any intimidation here.. As long as there is no ill-will towards each other, there is nothing wrong in keeping one’s distance.

    • Efe

      September 13, 2016 at 8:30 pm

God bless you! I don’t know whether friendship is by force now because you work together with somebody…na wa for fans!!

      September 13, 2016 at 7:35 pm

@Bussrni , Omoni and GN cannot be compared, she is not even Omoni’s senior in anything ! Omoni started acting from Uni and went to England to have her kids, before returning to the Industry!she is a very pretty woman with 3 teenage boys and a wonderful handsome husband ,so my dear GN as well is doing great for herself and is a very beautiful woman! If you ask me for choice on lifestyle ,I would go with Omoni as she has her man who is an accomplished Optician who was practicing in the Uk and even still has his practice in Nigeria,so please next time do not try to compare people who are successful in their own rights!you can say GN is your role model, your choice!your view and your right!for me I will say Omoni for beauty ,personality and every other thing,as you turn am to competition !Shalom!!!

    • Say what

      September 13, 2016 at 8:09 pm

So the angle you’re taking here is that omoni has a man and Genny doesn’t abi?
What you’re not seeing is that Genny is conquering the world WITHOUT a man. She has achieved, and continues to achieve feats that your married omoni can only dream of. Genny is STILL the Queen B of nollywood and she doesn’t even toot her own horn. Make una no worry o. She’ll get married someday- sooner than you think- and we’ll see what angle you haters will come from next. Lousy people that think that a woman has not achieved success until she has a ring on her finger.

    • Kemi

      September 13, 2016 at 8:35 pm

Thank you #Ominiknowest?? just passing by ni o ??????

    • Busarni

      September 14, 2016 at 9:04 am

If you are a woman @Lacey; you are really a shame to womanhood. All i could get from the crap you wrote is that ; a woman is only validated by being married. Tueeh; shame on you. I cant even condescend to your level of thought pattern. You need help and asap.

    • Ranyinudo

      September 13, 2016 at 8:33 pm

Just negodu! Lookatew! In ur reply down there….did I hear she should acknowledge kini? They paved the way for her how?
It’s just like saying a lawyer should acknowledge that her senior colleagues paved way for her (just cos she went to law school right after them) & she ”s perceived to be doing better than them career wise. Innit??
If anything Genevieve should feel intimidated…what with Omoni”s successful career, cute hubby and gorgeous sons! Abi u think life is all about slaying (with styles and clothes and shoes eh)
When I look at them…all I see is two beautiful women doing extremely well in their own rights.
No need for the comparisons pls!

    • truthservedhot

      September 13, 2016 at 10:40 pm

…but you still went ahead and compared them to the point of shading Genevieve.

    • Marlvina

      September 14, 2016 at 1:50 am

SMH!! Can you peeps just focus on smtn more important? Rather than comparing individuals you know absolutely nothing about.

happy bday to the great Mo Abudu

  4. Ada

    September 13, 2016 at 10:38 am

Nice pictures. Mo Abudu looking good. Although, when I look at her face , am convinced she has had some botox treatment. Her neck always reveals her age (veins &all) but her face is always taut, no facial creases and no smile lines even when she is smiling.

  5. Nice one

    September 13, 2016 at 10:47 am

Must be the CEO glow that’s making Mo look better than girls half her age 🙂

  8. Nene

    September 13, 2016 at 12:23 pm

According to Genevieve Nnaji “sometime you get along with people and sometimes you just don’t, whether they’re celebrities or not, extra ordinary or not……. sometimes the only thing you share with people is just that SET, we all have our lives and friends we want to hold on to’

    • Mee

      September 13, 2016 at 2:42 pm

All these cele fans e don do ooooo! First :

Hahaha but doesn’t stop him being a typical naija man. shame. always chasing babes with his sweaty body and BO and stank arrogant attitude. He stepped to me and he felt stupid when I told him how I knew him from London, his wife etc.

Genevieve is a huge blessing to the Nigerian movie industry. If u like bring Beyonce or any other famous lady around the world to stand along side Genny, Genevieve will beat them hands down without breaking a sweat. Genevieve is too much. She is beautiful! #Slaynevieve

  26. Awesome

    September 13, 2016 at 11:13 pm

Like seriously, who is Omoni Oboli where Genevieve is ….?
Well, no need to waste energy on obvious fact… I don’t even see any need for comparison… But next time, if you guys wants to compare Genevieve with any woman in Nollywood then mention Omotala then we can compare and at the end Genny will still top.
But please, you guys should leave Omoni to stick with her class of friends Uche, Ufoma & co… Omoni still needs and extra 10 years of hard work before she can catch up with where Genevieve is…. But she can’t even catch up because as she is coming Genny is moving up with speeds.
As for intimidation, its obvious, Omoni was always at the other side of each pix . I have seen pictures of Genny and Uche Jombo and also Ufoma except Omoni who must have been feeling so uncomfortable and intimated by the presence of the QUEEN.
All the same, I like Omoni shaa, she works hard and passionate about film making but then, she can Hype her movies for African ! Just like her madam Mo abudu , she get A 1 for Hyping school !

    September 14, 2016 at 1:50 am

That thing on Omoni’s head is pissing me off, her mates that stopped watching Mickeymouse in primary school do they have 2 heads?
