Senator representing Bayelsa East Constituency, Ben Murray-Bruce has called on leaders who want to improve the Education sector to stop paying politicians (like himself) jumbo salaries, rather the money should be used to pay maximum allowance to teachers.

He made this known in a series of Tweets on Monday, adding that billions spent on Medical tourism should be used to pay Medical Doctors in the country so that the country can have good healthcare.

Where is the sense in him telling us, the public, to stop paying him salary? Do we sign his play slips? How about he start donating his salary to charity to show us he is serious? How about he sponsors a bill to slash salaries for himself and his colleages? Abi you people praising him are mad ni?

This man keeps making noise like the power to effect these kinds of changes doesn’t lie with him and his colleagues. Errh sir, u either leave that place, come out and form a proper pressure group against corruption/waste OR u seat ur yellow a** up there and quietly be chopping the equally exhorbitant monies u and your colleagues are getting. This your chopping and at the same time crying foul against chopping is becoming increasingly annoying.

While u are making sense, I would have preferred if he had stated what the jumbo salaries are in details so we can start the petition for this reduction. So what is it? 5-10million a month x how many of you? What’s the total package make it public knowledge!

If he doesn’t collect the salary then that’ll be awesome!

I just wish he was saying all this in the Senate he was elected to serve in.

Sorry all I see is someone talking, no action, just trying to upgrade his public persona nothing else.

You’re not like me. (I don’t know how many times I’ll say this) I can rant on twitter cause I can’t put forward a bill or lobby other senators to effect the change I want. But you’re a freaking senator.

    Start acting like one.

Hey this man again. The Senator is telling the public to pay him less salary because we have the power to pass that into law bah?

You’re a senator…move the motion, propose a bill and make the law that caps the income of politicians with that of the most important people in the society-lecturers/academicians.
