The Smart Money Woman Movement Continues to take Africa by Storm with More Tour Stops & Events| See Photos from October Roundup
When personal finance expert Arese Ugwu’s tour for her first book The Smart Money Woman: An African Girl’s Journey to Financial Freedom kicked off in September, the unprecedented tour knocked out six events in four Nigerian states in the first month alone without counting the numerous radio and TV interviews heard and watched nationwide.
With another month down, The Smart Money Woman train is not losing steam! October saw more events in Lagos State, a three-day stop in FCT Abuja and a finale in Accra, Ghana. This month, the book tour is already rolling through more locations in Lagos, with a week of exciting events scheduled in South Africa from Johannesburg to Durban, and a stop in Rivers State to cap off the month.
The response to the tour remains overwhelming positive as more women and men in Africa and beyond are forging ahead on their journey towards financial freedom. More tour event locations will be added across the continent, to keep up to date with the information about the movement, the book and the tour visit the Smart Money Africa website.

LEKKI, Lagos – October 6th, 2016: Book Reading and Q & A Session at the Sterling Bank Private Banking Lounge, Hosted by Keji Sanni
The Sterling Bank sponsored event brought The Smart Money Woman book tour to their private banking customers at their exclusive lounge on Wole Olateju Crescent in Lekki Phase 1. The intimate group of ladies received free books courtesy of Sterling Bank and engaged in a passionate discussion about feminism, sexism and how that shapes the way African women view finances.
VICTORIA ISLAND, Lagos – October 14th, 2016: Book Signing and Meet & Greet at Laterna Ventures
The Smart Money train pulled into the financial centre of Lagos Island for a quick stop, bringing The Smart Money Woman book tour to the corporate folk of Victoria Island during their lunch break one afternoon. And for the first time in the tour’s run, more men stopped in than women! Everyone is #TeamZuri!
JABI, Abuja – October 21st, 2016: Book Signing and Meet & Greet at House of Tara Jabi Lake Mall
The first stop on the Abuja tour circuit, was a meet & greet event at the House of Tara store in the Jabi Lake Mall. House of Tara beauty reps, readers of the book and shoppers alike, stopped in to meet Arese, get a copy of the book or have their own well-read copies autographed.

The highly anticipated Finance Edition of FusionConnect, hosted by the founder of Fusion Lifestyle Limited was Arese’s second stop in Abuja. The sold out event was a crazy good time with insightful questions, intense discussions, and all the ladies in attendance feeling renewed and empowered at the end of the conference.

To wrap up the weekend in Abuja, Arese joined the panellists at the Whiskey Business Evening, a collaboration between Play Woman and The Smart Money Woman, to discuss “Exploring Research in Entrepreneurship”.

Akwaaba Ghana! The Smart Money Woman train finally crossed the Nigerian borders to our neighbour and rival in the Jollof wars. The Villa Monticello Hotel were the book tour’s gracious hosts for two nights Arese spent in Accra.
Talking Smart Money Over Brunch: A Personal Finance Masterclass, Hosted by SLA’s Afua Osei at Café Kwae in Airport City
The book tour was in town for one day only and kicked off bright and early, talking Smart Money over brunch at Café Kwae hosted by the co-founder of She Leads Africa, Afua Osei.
Book Reading and Meet & Greet, Hosted by Anita Erskine at the Vlisco Flagship Store in Accra Mall
Later that Saturday, Anita Erskine hosted Arese to a reading of The Smart Money Woman and meet & greet with the readers at the Vlisco Flagship Store in Accra Mall before heading back to Lagos the next morning.
