Club Owner Mike Causes Stir Online For Walking with Ladies on a Leash

Pretty Mike and his Ladies

Over the weekend, a video surfaced on social media, of a popular lagos club owner, known simply as Pretty Mike, walking into a wedding venue with 2 ladies on a dog leash.

Here’s the video:

Many Nigerians have condemned the act, saying it is demeaning to women and girls. Another group brought the says although it is demeaning, female music stars should also be condemned for doing same in their music videos.

Then there’s a group that thinks since it’s between consenting adults, it’s none of anyone’s business.

Last Saturday was not the first time Mike was doing this as he shared a video on his Instagram Page on December 29, 2016 where he went to another event with the same ladies on a leash.

Nigerian nightclub entrepreneur @prettymikeclubuno is currently trending for attending events alongside 2 young women with collars around their necks with leashes attached held by him. Below is a recent slideshow posted by him. Everyone involved is an adult so we should respect their choices…right? Here is what he had to say on his page; ・・・ No matter how polished your shoes are or how well ironed your clothes are, people will always judge u! For when your clothes are torn, they will laugh in disgust, but when u appear better and more good looking, their eyes stare with accusations wondering what unholy gains u have made to afford the happy life u live. Well, hating is free, that’s why small minded people do it so well… This is 2016, and if the opinion of “JUST ORDINARY DUST” still bothers u, then u are the one with the problem my dear. Remember, they don’t want to see us win (major ?) #ButWeShallWin #ButWeShallBeFine #ButWeShallContinueToDoMakeup #ButWeShallMakeOurSmallMoney #ButWeShallBuildOurDreamHouse #ButWeShallBuyOurDreamCar #ButWeShallContinueToSubThem #TheyShallCatchTheirSub #TheyShallGetTiredOfLife #WeatherMan #TexasKid #HusbandMaterial ?? #sherrysam16

A video posted by BellaNaija (@bellanaijaonline) on

The videos are fuelling discussions on BDSM – Bondage and Discipline, Dominance and Submission, Sadism and Masochism – a variety of erotic/sexual practices that involve the above mentioned, and other related activities.

Does this in any way deal a major blow to the feminist movement (as most times the Bottom/Submissive are women)?; is it none of anyone’s business if it is between two consenting adults? Let us know.

Hmm. that is what he thinks of his mom and sisters and all females. Chained beasts to be covered and leading like horses at the tug of the chain. Aint nothing wrong with that. Let us just acknowledge it is how he sees the world. Those that want to marry him and be chained will do so whether we rip our hair out or not.

Only GOD can save us. Nigeria and the people in it have all lost their way. Look at the state our country is in and all these idiots can do is conjure up stupid personas so they can stunt at weddings!!! I don’t even know whether this is money miss road or poverty of the mind. I hear one of the girls is a law student/lawyer. It has reached the point where people will do anything for the gram/social media. Everybody looking for fame online. The internet is truly the devil.

There have always been and will continue to be “weirdos” in this world. The Internet just makes news travel faster. Let’s just be sure to label them as “weird” so younger people can at least know that this isn’t normal.

In the end, it’s all about choice. Afterall, you can’t force anyone down a given path. So,every mallam with em kettle

Lost for words. Parents train up your child in the way of the Lord and pray they don’t depart from it or even when they do, they will still have some of your teaching at the back of their mind.
What’s the position of the law on this? Can our lawyers throw more light on this? Thanks

Well I noticed that they are the same women he paraded the last time. First of all no one should cite poverty (talking about the women) as justification for agreeing to this. It’s more deep rooted than that. All three of them are psychologically handicapped on different levels and degrees. I cannot even fathom the thought that this man was allowed to walk into this wedding in this manner. Who are his friends, his family? Is this normal to them or we’re missing something? He even passed the policemen and they were just looking at him morose. Lawyers in the house, is there a crime of this nature and can he be arrested because I honestly think he has something over those women. It’s not normal. I’m really upset about this.

When I saw his comments I was convinced that these people will go to any length to justify their disgusting actions and try to sugar coat it enough to make it seem normal. No surprise though the bible did foretell this time we are living in 2Tim 3:1-5. We can only teach our children that right is right and wrong is always wrong regardless of how ‘open minded’ you want to seem. God does not change and his laws and principles don’t either.

End time things. Could this be the thoughts going through the mind of the ladies ‘ if people can steal, prostitute, kill to make money, why can’t i allow someone put a leach on my neck and drag me around. after all we have masks on and no one can identify us’. then again some of my people would say the guy ‘jazzed’ them. But one thing i’m sure of is that these ladies are not as excited as he is. Something is attached to this and i hope the right people would look into it without being blinded by sentiments.

We sha know how to expend energy on non-issues. Are the women complaining? That’s his own idea of showing eccentricity and making an entrance at events, as long as he’s not breaking any laws I don’t see why we should be concerned. There is no need to attach excess meaning to this: I mean, why wasn’t there any outcry when Charly boy was showing off his two “virgins” in similar fashion? Please let’s return our energies back to the matters that affect our pocket abeg. National Assembly, how far?

    • BlueEyed

Thank you @molarah, very wasteful issue. If this is his choice and style to make an entrance with then please let him, music artistes show men in chains in their videos and stage performances, women make Egyptian themed entrances with 6 semi nude men carrying them, so what’s the fuss about, the girls aren’t demeaned in any way, because it is different to Nigerians don’t mean it is weird. It happens, get over it and find the answers to the questions that matter.

If they can do this in public imagine what they will do privately..Why are people saying he should be arrested? He hasnt commited any crime. Snoop dogg did the same and wasnt arrested and as for pretty mike. This is so unnecessary. We know you have some change but come on man.

    • Stop bringing in and bashing feminism unnecessarily

      January 9, 2017 at 12:04 pm

You guys will use any dumb excuses to put down feminism. Say it with your chest that your are misogynist. So because of two girls on a leash we shouldn’t fight for equal pay, better welfare, cheaper sanitary wares, educating the girl child, inheritance rights, better rape laws, women being forced to provide financially and still do all the housework etc. Please get over yourself. As much as you can disagree with them, it doesn’t mean they don’t deserve better rights- because they do

    • #MyPeople

      January 9, 2017 at 1:32 pm

As we make effort to close the inequality gap, women are expanding the gap with the strength of a Tigress. What do we say to the two women gleefully & wholeheartedly parading under a leash in public? Some men have inordinate desires but women should not be wilful accomplices in response to their desires. Show of maximum cleavage, body parts have become accepted in fashion styles. Today, music videos are replete with scantily dressed women. If women do not accept such roles, men will not trample on their decency. Music lyrics are full of vivid description of the woman anatomy. I have never seen nor hear any complaints by the Gender equality group in that regards. In my opinion, womanhood has been greatly disrespected by the Men with the active support of the Women. No real man will be happy to see his mother, sister or daughter being disrespected by any Man. Women Groups should rise up and provide clear leadership for the girls, otherwise the gender inequality gap will tend to infinity in favour of the menfolk.

Get over yourself and don’t bring up feminism where it’s not concerned. They are adults doing their thing with consent. And here you are, and adult looking for any silly reason to tell us that women don’t deserve equality

My concern is that our children are exposed to all this perversity daily from the internet and music videos. The earlier our government curbs these vile behaviours the saner our society will become.

@MyPeople pls how does this affect fighting for equality for women. Only in Nigeria, you don’t seem to think this is exactly why we need to fight for equality for women from Cultural, political, social and economic subjugation. Trust me if it were two men being held on leashes by a woman you would not look at it in the same way. Women all over the world are denied education, beaten to death, raped, maimed just for the stupid fact that Women are put on a pedestal by society and are judged by different standards from Men. Why should one Stupid man and two weird ladies affect the decades of Women fighting gallantly and sometimes to the death for equality, why should this fight be reduced to this one video of this three odes. I believe the guy is looking for Bobrisky type fame and he secured the services of the ladies to help him achieve it simple and short

Not even our forefathers disrespected womanhood to this extent.

“is it none of anyone’s business if it is between two consenting adults?”

I’m not interested in whatever perversion infantile Nigeria adults choose to engage in, in the privacy of their homes. However, it becomes my BUSINESS when such perverted engagements become public. Not only did they bring it to the public, they took their perversion to a wedding ceremony where you could find impressionable children. At the back ground of violence and rape against women, is the mentality of male chauvinism to the female which this picture projects. It does not respect the female humanity. And Bisi Alimi you did not give much thought to your ‘it occurs in the West too’ argument. Do women have the same protections in Nigeria as they do in the West? Even sex workers in the West are protected than a wife in Nigeria. Certain things can fly there because women are protected there. Then we can argue it is a choice because we have eliminated the factors that hinders her from making that choice. Without the needed protection of the female gender in Nigeria, I will not argue that this is borne out of choice. This is borne out of poverty, greed and lack of self respect on the women’s part, and chauvinism on the man’s part. I would like to know how much he paid these girls to disrespect their lineage like this.

Many people get off on different things he could be into domination and the girls into submission or if anything be into humiliation, just because their sexual preference is brought out into the open does not make it weird or bad. there are loads of people out there who like and get off on PDA (kissing, hugging) we dont start calling the name of God now do we ?

    Bella Naija typed:
“Does this in any way deal a major blow to the feminist movement (as most times the Bottom/Submissive are women)?; is it none of anyone’s business if it is between two consenting adults?

Please understand I, sadly, know little to nothing about Nigeria, it’s political, social, sexual, fetish NOR kinky perspective – practices. My response ONLY addresses what Bella Naija wrote and some of the posted remarks NOT Nigerian society/culture.

Apparently Bella Naija believes usually ‘bottoms/submissives’ are female. If there was such a thing as an objective survey, I believe the results would, at worst be 50-50, but I suspect the proportion would be much closer to 60 – 40 (males to females), possibly higher!

Regarding public behavior I suspect those who object to seeing people (NO MATTER the gender) being on a lead/leash also OBJECT to people kissing &/or ‘making out’/HEAVY petting in public. My concern is focused NOT on what my sensibilities are, but is the behavior (in private OR in public) truly CONSENSUAL? i.e. are all involved knowingly and willingly engaging in the activity? No compulsion, no obligation, ONLY desire – willingness!

If so the participants HOPEFULLY respect others’ values AND believed their activity was appropriate for the particular venue. Please don’t ‘throw’ children’s sensibilities in, luckily they are less judgemental than most of we adults!

Bisi Alimi, the gay right champion suggested there’s nothing wrong with it because it is practiced in the west!!!!!! Why do some Africans let the west do the thinking for them? So, everything we do should be calibrated based on some cultures from the west? Whatever happens to pan-Africanism? The one good thing about the world is its diversity, loose that and it’ll be one boring place. Sad day to be an African.
