Awkward… Solange Knowles was nominated for “Best New Artist” at Kids’ Choice Awards After a 14-Year Career

The 2017 list of nominees for the Kids’ Choice Awards was released yesterday (click here if you missed it) and one of the most surprising things on the list was the fact that singer Solange Knowles was nominated in the “Best New Artist” category.

Solange Knowles has been performing for years and the 30-year-old singer released her third studio, which has been her most successful album.

This was her first album to debut at number one, but she definitely has had a big fan base for many years. Her first album was released in January 2003.

Solange was nominated alongside Kelsea Ballerini, The Chainsmokers, Daya, Lukas Graham, Rae Sremmurd, Hailee Steinfeld, and Twenty One Pilots.

Solange fans are currently unhappy on Twitter as they feel she shouldn’t be nominated in that category. What are your thoughts?
