Buhari has not Changed his Plan to Return to London for Medical Check-up – Presidency

The Presidency has described as “false news” reports that President Muhammadu Buhari is planning to bring his doctors to Nigeria as against returning to London to continue his medical checks, PUNCH reports.

Speaking to newsmen on Thursday, Garba Shehu, the president’s Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) said:

“It is false news (that Buhari is no longer going to London). We are not aware of the reported advance movements. The last time the President spoke about this, he said he would return to his doctors after some time. We are not aware that this has changed.”

President Buhari had, after almost 50 days in London for medical treatment, said he will be returning for follow-up checks “within some weeks”.

The fact that the president of Nigeria is leaving Nigeria to go abroad for treatment is laughable and quite frankly, sad! For years, many have proposed that the healthcare system in Nigeria be improved – yet nothing. Now he is spending tax payers’ money to leave his own country to go for treatment rather than solve the damn issue by actually focusing on improving the healthcare system. How does this make any sense?

Shameless group of agbayas. You are spending millions of the country’s money for medical treatment in the same country that colonized you. And you are claiming independence? Their ex prime minister described you guys very well, fantastically corrupt Nigerians. I can’t wait for these old group of leaders to be gone and never return.

Buhari, Nigerians didn’t ask for part time president. Resign, and move to London. All this back and forth lies is enough.
