Meningitis: “There is no way fornication will be so rampant and God will not send a disease” – Gov Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara

Zamfara Governor, Abdulaziz Yari

In an interview with journalists on Tuesday shortly after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari, said that the meningitis outbreak the country is facing is God’s punishment for fornication.

Yari has been accused of not adequately planning for the outbreak even after series of warnings from the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Zamfara.

Zamfara is the worst hit in the outbreak as over 200 of the 336 deaths recorded are from the state

“What we used to know as far as meningitis is concerned is the type A virus. The World Health Organisation (WHO), has carried out vaccinations against this type A virus not just in Zamfara, but many other states.

However, because people refused to stop their nefarious activities, God now decided to send Type C virus, which has no vaccination.

People have turned away from God and he has promised that ‘if you do anyhow, you see anyhow’ that is just the cause of this outbreak as far as I am concerned.

There is no way fornication will be so rampant and God will not send a disease that cannot be cured.

The most important thing is for our people to know that their relationship with God is not smooth. All they need to do is repent and everything will be alright,” Yari said.

The governor added that 20,000 doses of vaccines have been given to his state out of the 50,000 available in the Federal Ministry of Health.

“Our focus as a state now is to continue treating those who are infected with the disease, but as for vaccination, it has an international dimension.

We have information that Nigeria will get the highest percentage of the five million doses available now. Apart from WHO, other international bodies such as the Bill Gates Foundation and UNICEF are also currently focusing on how to tackle the outbreak,” Yari said.

I developed a heavy head reading this. Why do we have leaders that sold their common sense in exchange for a mere position? Nigeria we hail thee..

You would be gravely insulting common sense itself by even implying that any of these buffoons even had the tiniest smidgen of it, before they managed to swindle their way into offices that they shouldn’t even be allowed to sweep.

Behold your great leaders, Nigeria. Observe and take note of the utter idiots you’re paying a very lucrative salary to keep running you into the ground.

Gosh, I shudder when l see the caibre of people in positions of leadership in Nigeria. This man is an idiot. I am just lost for words. Fornication and Meningitis? How? Just how? What can this one do for his state with this level of reasoning? How did a group of people sit down and decided this man here should be governor? How?

Actually this man is very intelligent. He knows how to play the game. The Average Nigerian (TAN – thanks Cisi Eze) or the lowest common denominator far out number you guys who’ll read this and think the man is a fool. To the LCD/TAN what the governor has said has merit, it means they should pull closer to God, fast more, pray more.

The governor has played the religion card to divert attention from the report that he was warned about the outbreak but did nothing and probably to magic our attention away from some funds he has misappropriated.

The religion card is played time after time after time by Nigerian leaders both religious and political and TAN/LCD fall for it time after time after time.

      TAN/LCD aka ?le.

“The Average Nigerian (TAN – thanks Cisi Eze) or the lowest common denominator far out number you guys who’ll read this and think the man is a fool.”

You can say that again! Our government is a direct reflection of the majority population. It is an identical imitation of this population.

They didn’t sell their common sense, they actually don’t have any. Religion has been used to justify all sort of atrocity. Nigerians are group of fake religous people and this guy thinks he can cajole with his statement to cover up his negligence and foolishness. I mean, I can’t blame him because Nigerians continue to tolerate such.
Nigeria continues to show the world their high level of ignorance and incompetency even among the so called educated ones. The North has always been backward, closed off to any type of growth, advancement despite it producing the highest embezzlers. What do they do with all that dirty money? Well, we see their children’s high extravagant weddings, birthday celebrations on bella naija, sponsoring terrorism, marrying teenage brides, doing evil things etc
They don’t believe in technology, actually they do but it’s selective. Their Women and children suffer the most because they don’t have equal rights to anything. The alhajis, their men know when to fly abroad to receive the best medical treatment hence the president going on his ‘London vacation”.
There was a time the north had the highest record of HIV/AIDS, thank God for foreign charity organizations that provided medicines and preventive awareness. I guess, until the West intervene on this case of meningitis that change will happen.

I have a solution…. let’s declare 21 days of dry fasting in churches and mosques, let’s also sacrifice 100 goats and 65 chickens to Amadioha and Sango…. maybe they will deliver us from clueless leaders…

Unfortunately, by the time election day comes, its already too late. We need to be involved in picking who actually makes it onto the ballot sheet. That’s the real solution. With the way party politics works in Nigeria, it seems only the lowest of the low make it past the primaries, leaving us with a pile of trash to select from on election day. How can we fix this?

Has you finished building the necessary infrastructure your state needs, roads, water, health care, schools etc. Just the basic so that the suffering people of Zamfara will live life a little easier. How about all the IDP camps and burnt down villages. Have you fixed that?

    God is watching YOU!!!
