The Africans in the diaspora would on Monday join their counterparts from Haiti, El Salvador and other countries in a rally to protest against U.S. President Donald Trump’s alleged racist remarks.

The rally would also hold in New Jersey, Atlanta, Houston and across other major U.S. cities.

The organisers of the event urged all people of African descent and others to attend the rally to “reject the denigration President Trump uttered against us”.

The U.S. president reportedly made the comment during a meeting with congressional leaders in the Oval Office on Thursday.

“Why are we having all these people from s—hole countries come here?” Trump allegedly said after being presented with a proposal to restore protections for immigrants from the countries in question.

The protest tagged: ‘Rally against Trump’ at Time Square on Monday, would commemorate the Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Day., which celebrates the death of the civil rights icon.

The Day is a Federal holiday in the U.S. falling on the third Monday of every January and this year marks the 50th anniversary of the death of King, who was tragically assassinated on April 4, 1968.

“In response to the comments made by President Trump on Thursday about countries including Africa and Haiti, please Join Mayor Bill de Blasio in denouncing Trump at a rally at Time Square on Monday.

“On MLK Day, New York City will take a stand for our sisters and brothers from Haiti, throughout Africa, El Salvador and other nations in the diaspora that have become targets of President Trump’s hatred and bigotry.

“This moment is too critically important for us not to come together.

“Let’s honour Dr King’s birthday by showing the world the progress being made to help achieve his dream,” Famod Konneh, Bronx Borough Director, New York City Office of the Mayor, said.

However, Trump had, while signing the proclamation for King’s Day on Wednesday, said the late civil rights leader “dedicated his life to a vision: that all Americans would live free from injustice and enjoy equal opportunity as children of God”.

“His strong, peaceful, and lifelong crusade against segregation and discrimination brought our Nation closer to the founding ideals set forth in the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.

“Today, as we come together to honour Dr King, we know that America is stronger, more just, and more free because of his life and work,” Trump said.

Ok, and you are in foreign lands because your respective countries aren’t ‘s—holes’ abi kini? Getting vexed defending a homeland you had to leave in order for you to prosper.
Awon americanahs are bragging on social media about their ivy league credentials, fancy jobs & contributions to American healthcare, finance and blah.
Forget your contributions to the american dream. Return home and use all your credintials to make Nigeria great. Take Nigeria from 3rd world to a 1st world country so no one can call it the shit hole that it is.
Or is it the case of citizens moaning about how shit it is but no one else is allowed to? Let’s call a spade a spade and fix it instead of covering it up.

Not everyone in America is running from Nigeria. Some people are there with family, others are there for the same reason white people are in naija. Money. No reason white folks can tap our resources and we can’t benefit from theirs without being called names

I have said this many times…………..the only answer to critics is success.

Nollywood, the nigerian music industry and the church growth in nigeria and the rest of africa can never take the shame away from nigeria, africa. and the black world

    Only infrastructural development will.

In the late 80’s the Americans and Europeans ignored china and were only willing to do business with japan as they rose to the second best economy in the world behind the united states and the first first world country in Asia. China soon learnt their lesson and now we have Macau, shanghai, Bejin, shanghen, and more. China is also building 17 more cities that would rival any city in the united states and europe creating millions of job and a booming middle class in the process. They now earning the respect and have also become the savior for africa.

Every nigerian not happy with what trump said and what all the racist would always say should pray for eko atlantic city to become a reality. It is the last hope for africa,

Even with some sharia laws dubai has become the final destination for all the middle east countries and the second most visited city in the world ahead of new york.

even with communist leadership china has taking over asia.

malaysia is building the most ambitious city in the world rivers city south east of the capital kuala lumpur that is costing them 100 billion dollars over the next 15yrs. Being built by china the city would create about 7 million direct and indirect jobs. 5 billion dollars have already been pumped into the city by china. already 3 new cities under construction would be ready by 2019 costing them 15 billion dollars.

people like tony elumelu, linda ikeji, uche pedro can never get the international respect they deserve without nigeria having a fully developed city or cities. Because they come from a shitthole..country…..always associated with being black.

Nigerian universities should insist that all students visit eko atalantic city to help create the picture of the future of africa.

I do not work for eko atlantic city and do not live in nigeria either, but i believe nigerian and the entire black world needs this to happen.
