Maryam Sanda who allegedly stabbed husband to death tells Court she's 3 Months Pregnant - BellaNaija

Maryam Sanda, who allegedly stabbed her husband Bilyamin Bello to death, has told a Federal High Court in Jabi, that she’s 3 months pregnant, Vanguard reports.

Sanda, whose trial started on Monday, asked the presiding judge, Justice Yusuf Halilu, to accede to her earlier application for bail.

Joseph Daudu, Sanda’s lawyer, asked that the judge “pity” his client and grant her bail to seek proper medical attention for her pregnancy.

The state’s lawyer, James Idachaba, however opposed the bail application, stating that the claim of Sanda’s 3 months pregnancy had to be proved, as the evidence provided was insufficient.

Justice Halilu adjourned the case until Wednesday to determine whether the court would grant Sanda bail on the basis of her pregnancy claim.

    Pregnancy kwa?
If it were a man who killed his wife, this
    matter would’ve been handled differently.

#fraudulentactivistalert, pray tell how is it being handled differently? Has the defense done anything that is ‘outside’ the law? Or were you expecting jungle justice? Akolade Arowolo killed his wife in 2011, and only got sentenced in 2014. It is a long process. And what exactly is new in the defense pulling a stunt? Metuh is currently pulling a semi dead man stunt over ‘simple’ charges of corruption, it is now murder you expect the defense not to dig into their stunt manual?

No whahala. You carry the belle for prison when you born, baby will be taken from you and you continue to enjoy your incarceration. In your next life, you will learn to manage your anger.
