Dino Melaye gives IGP 48 Hours to find Suspects who Escaped Custody
Dino Melaye, senator representing Kogi West District, has given the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris 24 hours to produce the suspects who escaped from police custody in Kogi State, Punch reports.
2 suspects who had named Melaye and Mohammed Audu as their gun suppliers had escaped police custody earlier on Wednesday and Melaye subsequently declared wanted.
The suspects, Kabiru Seidu aka Osama and Nuhu Salisu aka Small, escaped the A Police Division in Lokoja, Kogi, at around 3 AM.
The 2 were scheduled to be arraigned before the Kogi Federal High Court later in the day, along with Melaye and Audu who they named as sponsors.
Melaye had during the day’s plenary ordered the IGP to find and present the suspects in 48 hours.
He had informed his lawyers to take legal action against the IGP if he fails to find the suspects, he said.
