Pastor E.A Adeboye

A video trending on the internet at the moment shows Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) General Overseer Pastor E. A. Adeboye addressing the paying of tithe.

Speaking to the pastors in the congregation, Adeboye said he had an instruction for them.

He asked that they return to their congregations and tell them: “Anyone who does not pay his/her tithe is not going to heaven, full stop.”

Chaiyaiya…anyone with a private jet like the rich man’s camel through a needle’s eye won’t get their either.
Any pastor who lives in a mansion whilst the least member doesn’t have 2 square meals a day won’t make it their either.

Can pastors stop this gibberish? Stop it! This is not the gospel and you all know it. Okay, I pay my tithes but do not give my life to christ or still fornicate, commit murder, lie etc do I still get to go to heaven then? Probably, because tithing cleanses my sins and not Jesus Christ or payed his life on the cross for me. Preach the gospel! And leave this tithe matter that enriches just your stomach be honest with the gospel! No body says tithing is wrong but be honest. Simple..

This preaching is totally rubbish, paying of tithe doesn’t lead anyone to heaven, rather righteousness and charity; which includes alms giving.

My friends paying tithe is not by force theres nothing about christianity that is forced. i payed tithe so many times and i got testimonies so even the devil cant stop me. So lets not twist pastors words if you love GOd you honor him just like some responsible children do when they get their first job, they give their fist salary to their parents. So if you wan go heaven prove your love and respect one of which is by paying your tithe finissss

If paying tithes is not by force, why is he insisting that if you don’t pay it you won’t go to heaven? Why dies he say that if one person in a church does not pay tithes, the whole church, including those that paid, are cursed? Why is he always stressing about tithes? Since tithes was originally meant for helping the poor and less privileged, why does he have schools Builth using tithe money given by those who can hardly afford it, and yet those same people cannot afford to attend as they’re not rich? Jesus said “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”. Where does that say you need to pay tithes to get to the father? The word of God says: fir God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten so, so that WHOSOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM, shall have everlasting life. Where does it say whosoever pays their tithes? Did the bible not say: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:Not of works, lest any man should boast. It does not say by paying tithes Jesus said: “If you want to be perfect, sell what you own. Give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then follow me! He did not say give the money to a church.
The crux of Jesus’ preachings and teachings hinges on two major principles. Love God and Love your neighbours. God created everything on earth. He does not need you to give him his own property. He does however, expect you to give the needy and poor and trodden and less privileged. Not take from them to enrich some self serving pastor. Open your eyes. You need no pastor to get to heaven. Especially not fear-mongering ones. Jesus opened the way for all to come directly to him. No conditions attached.
So you insist the jets, mansions and cars are all gifts? Do what Jesus would do. Sell up and give the poor. Pope Francis did it. I’m not even catholic (
Stop following blindly. Insisting that paying tithes is a prerequisite to getting to heaven is a big fat lie and invalidates the point of Jesus’ death.

If you believe in heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus died resurrected for your since and he is the son of God that is all you need . Grace does not have a price tag . No wonder freeze is popular. If it where by tithe only rich people will go to haven what of people who have no jobs and live on the charity of others . This doesn’t make sense honestly. These preachers should look for better ways to make money the tithe manipulation era is gone .

Wrong mentality, you cannot do ‘all sorts’ and expect to make Heaven. But if by all sorts you mean ; living righteously then by all means carry on.

Oh yes. It’s called Babylon! The book of revelation speaks on it. This is why God has commissioned His people to COME OUT OF HER!
God is going to judge this religious, political and economic system in the age to come.

He’s right. Every christian that claims to worship God in spirit and in truth would obey all the doctrines of Christ. The bible says that ye have robbed him in tithes and offerings. Now, ask yourself, would a robber make it to heaven?

But then, just paying tithe won’t take you to heaven. Righteousness will. But who’s a righteous man?, the man that obeys all the commandments of God.

      April 13, 2018 at 11:33 pm

The pastors themselves are robbers, so there goes your theory.
Jesus fed 5000 with 2 fish and 5 loaves, he did not feed 5 people with money collected from 5000 people. If we are going to preach the gospel, let’s look first at those who claim to represent God.

Do you obey all the commandment of God?If you don’t, then you can make it to heaven

@Tijani, you asked in your comment that would a robbers make heaven based on malachi 3:10-12)? then if robbers won’t make heaven definitely the great apostle that wrote half of the new testament which is apostle Paul should not also be found in heaven because he said in(2 Corithians11:8 categorically” that he robbed other churches by taking wages from them before doing them service compare with the saints at the Corinth,Yet he was so sure of making heaven by divine revelation before his death(Pls read 2 Timothy 4:6-8). Pls let us stop handle the word of God deceitfully because we want to make a point or defend a point(2 Corinthians 4:2)

I pray for the salvation of freeze and his supporters. I am not a member of pastor Adeboye’s church but I understand the perspective from which he preached to his pastors. Please people get some wisdom before we join people in critisizing. If God calls a non tither a robber and a thief, think about it, will a non repented thief make heaven? Malachi 3:8-18. The guys on the cross with Jesus were thieves but one repented and made heaven while the other was condemned. Pastor Adeboye was right. You either follow God’s rules or face the consequences. May God have mercy on us all.

Adeboye is absolutely and totally wrong on this issue, simple. Jesus Christ never asked or received a tithe, the Apostles never asked or received a tithe. Reason for this is simply because they are not Levites (Descentant of Levi tribe).

The Law requires only Levites who becomes a Priest to receive a Tithe. Hebrew 7:5 (you can read from verse 1 to the end), So, where did Adeboye get the authority to demand and receive a tithe? Is Adeboye and others like him descendants of Levi ? The answer is NO.

The book of Malachi in Chapter 1:1 states: An Oracle: the word of the Lord to Israel through Malachi.
The Prophet Malachi was speaking to the Israelites (descendants of Abraham that made up of the 12 tribes of Israel to whom the Laws was given) and how they (Israelites) have sinned against God. You can read from Chapter 1 down to Chapter 4.

We became Christians not because of the Law but by Jesus Christ death and Resurrection.

If truly what Adeboye said is correct, that means that Jesus Christ (our High Priest) and the Apostles failed in their duties to demand and receive a Tithe from their followers but God can never lie. Read Galatians 3.

Tithing is part of the Law and there are over 400 other Laws, Tell me:

    1. why is Adeboye not practicing other Laws in their Church ?

    2. The Feast of Unleaven Bread is a Law, is it practice in RCCG as stated in the Law?

    3. Does RCCG use the blood of animals to santify their alter as it was stated in the Law?

    4. Why is it only the Law of Tithing that is most suitable for Christians and other Laws are not?

The Old Testatment is the light which leads us from Abram to Abraham and eventually to Jesus Christ. When you are in Christ, practicing the Law is not necessary because it made nothing Perfect. If the Law made anything Perfect then there would not be a need for Christ to come according to Paul the Apostle.

Grace is abound in Jesus Christ through his death offered as an everlasting sacrific on the cross, in Jesus Christ we have a High Priest who never dies but the Priest that collect Tithes are men that die according to Paul.

I will follow Christ and not a Pastor that will die, until I see any page of the bible where Jesus Christ or any of the Apostles received a Tithe.

You cannot buy heaven with money, it’s total freedom from sin that guarantee Heaven, not by tithing.
