Empowering Girls Contribute to the Digital Economy- Apply for #W.TEC2018Camps in Lagos & Anambra | July- September

W.TEC is now accepting applications for 2018 She Creates and the Early Innovators,  Technology Camps, taking place in Lagos and Anambra states in  July – September.

The She Creates Camp is a two-week technology programme, which empowers girls to contribute meaningfully to the digital economy and improve their economic opportunities. The long-term goal of the camp is to increase the number of women working with and using information technology productively for professional and leadership activities.

The Early Innovators Camp harnesses the innate curiosity of children aged 5 to 10 years by introducing them to computing and science concepts through play and exploration over a 2-week camp.

Our 2018 sponsors for our camps are Google.org, Oracle, Laureates College and Swift Networks, Kenneth Dike Memorial eLibrary.

During the camp, girls will participate in technology workshops and leadership activities. Evaluations of previous camps show enhanced leadership skills; creativity; problem-solving and communication abilities in the girls as a result of attending the camp.

In 2018, W.TEC is hosting the following camps:

1.) SHE CREATES CAMP (Lagos- Mainland)

Date: Sunday, August 5th – Saturday, August 18th (2-week residential camp)
Fee: N50,000 per student (Covers tuition, feeding, boarding, educational resources, and excursions)

2.) SHE CREATES CAMP (Lagos- Lekki)

Date: Monday, July 23rd – Friday, August 3rd (2-week non-residential camp, 9AM – 2.30PM)
Fee: N 50,000 per student (Covers tuition, feeding, educational resources ) plus N10,000 for pickups after 2.30PM

Target Audience:
The ”She Creates” is a girls-only tech camp of which its candidates
must be  smart, curious and between 13 and 17 years of age and
interested in and enjoy using computers and exploring digital technology
The ”Early Innovators” camp is a tech camp for children between the
ages of 5 and 10 years.

The W.TEC Girls Technology Camp is highly competitive and we would love that your girls participate this year so kindly apply early.
