I stood up for Nigeria's dignity - El-Rufai addresses "body bags" Statement | BellaNaija

Governor Nasir El-Rufai

Nasir El-Rufai, the Kaduna State Governor, has said that his statement on “body bags” was made because he was standing for Nigeria’s dignity.

The governor, speaking on NTA, said that anyone who tries to intervene in Nigeria’s forthcoming elections, will “go back in body bags.”

In a statement released by El-Rufai’s spokesperson, Samuel Aruwan, the comment was addressed. He said:

When Malam Nasir El-Rufai appeared on NTA’s Tuesday Night Live, he made comments every patriot can understand. He stood up for Nigeria’s dignity in the wake of those who would traduce their country and reduce it to the status of a colony in their vain quest for power.

The video of his comments is in circulation. Any fair-minded person with modest familiarity with the English language and unimpaired comprehension can understand it. It does not contain any call for violence. What it is a powerful defence of sovereignty. Are some sections of our political class implying that they will acquiesce in or collaborate with foreign intervention in our country?

Affirming that a country will defend itself against needless intervention is the kind of statement you expect to hear from a patriot. It is not a call for violence. Warning about the consequences of meddling in another country’s affairs is legitimate.

Malam Nasir El-Rufai has issued a powerful call for vigilance and a clear notice that other countries should not mistake the supine posture of the opposition for national weakness.

El-Rufai has stood firmly against those who have been trying to divide Nigerians on ethnic and religious lines. He is resolutely opposed to violence, and firmly committed to peace and harmony.

Yeah!!!???? El-Rufai???? Knowing how you northern elites created Boko Haram for political reasons, why shouldn’t Nigerians be worried that you are inciting Violence? In my country, when you say people will be carried out in “body bags,” it means felonious crime is in the works. You will lose your job, and you’ll be arrested. So just know that Nigerians are not dumb. I hope you all over there will do the right thing, and get Buhari out of office.

By the way, when you all new generation politicians get into office, make sure you have a law that’ll ban any political office holder from seeking medical treatment outside of Nigeria. It’s insulting to Nigerian hospitals, doctors and medical workers. JUST SAYING!!!!!!

El Rufai implicated himself. He confirmed what many knew which is he incites violence and is behind the instability in kaduna. He’s a muslim fanatic. In addition, he’s heartless and evil. El Rufai is a dictator. God forbid such man becomes president, idi amin and hitler incarnate.
Boko haram is hand made terrorist group sponsored by northern elites to fight among themselves.

Nigeria is NOT a northern country, it doesn’t matter if they have the largest population. They don’t see themselves as Nigerians hence their destructive tactics to out Nigeria in shambles. They don’t have nigeria’s best interest at heart. These people don’t practice development and advancement.
Nigeria should adopt Turkey inclusiveness in politics.
An igbo man should be the senate president right now. Let the ethnic groups be well represented if they truly want to practice one Nigeria
