YouTuber Who Recently Posted Worrying Video Found Dead One Week after Going Missing

Popular gaming YouTuber Desmond “Etika” Amofah has been found dead, a week after he was reported missing, New York Police has said.

29-year old Amofah’s belongings were found on Manhattan bridge earlier this week.. Police had been searching for him for about a week after he posted a video where he talked of suicide.

Amofah had always talked about his troubles dealing with the pressures of social media and his struggles with his mental health, to his over 800,000 subscribers on YouTube.

“We regret to inform that Desmond Amofah aka Etika has been found deceased,” NYPD tweeted Tuesday night.

Amofah had deleted all the videos on his channel last October. People had filed reports, raising concerns about his safety in April while he was streaming on Instagram. That led to a police visit and he subsequently spent time in hospital.
