Nationwide Blackout averted as Electricity Workers suspend Strike
Has power been restored at your place?
It was reported that the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) embarked on an indefinite strike because the Federal Government failed to dialogue with them to resolve the lingering industrial crisis in the sector, causing a nationwide blackout.
Anthony Sule, Secretary-General of NUEE, confirmed the development in a statement, stating the 21-day ultimatum expired on Tuesday.
A new statement issued by EKEDC via Twitter, states that the supposed strike has been suspended and operations will commence immediately. Hopefully, we start seeing electricity in our homes.
Dear customer, National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) has suspended its strike. Our offices & payment channels are open for business. Thank you for your patience & understanding.
