Giving Back! Vlisco Group & Kinabuti Fashion Initiative hold Press Briefing for Fashion Masterclass

On Monday 22nd September, the Vlisco Group and Kinabuti Fashion Initiative joined forces to offer specialized tailoring classes to local women who wished to take their passion for tailoring to the next level.

The fashion masterclass holds at the Kinabuti address in Lagos with the aim of training the women to acquire high level tailoring skills and education in business administration. The training is set to run for 4 months at the end of which the best students will be retained and offered work with the Vlisco group and produce a fashion capsule collection to be sold. All profits will be given back to the academy students as a start-up capital.

At a press briefing held at the Kinabuti premises recently in Lagos, they enlightened guests on the reason for their partnership. They stated that the Vlisco Group chose to partner with Kinabuti fashion Initiative as they share the same drive of facilitating and empowering women through the 3 Ls Learning, Labor and Leadership.

For Vlisco Group, the investment in the African fashion world and the empowerment of women, are the drivers for a long lasting initiative: creating a platform that connects African’s fashion talent and creativity with the knowledge and activities of Vlisco Group in the African and global fashion world.
