damn y’all need to chill. Kai.. But I like that BN doesn’t regulate these comments. Enough drama
WELL SAID! I have to applaud you, adunni, you have away with words and you certainly put her in her place. She can continue ranting like a lunatic if she so desires.
I WENT TO AUDITION FOR THE LONDON AUDITION AND BOI OH BOI…. IT WAS SO…. UNORGANISED AND ONLY APPROXIMATELY 10 GIRLS SHOWED UP….. IN MY OWN OPINION…. NONE OF THE GIRLS WERE MODEL MATTERIAL… I NEVER STAYED HAD TO WALK… TO ME IT WAS JUST A JOKE… TYPICAL AFRICAN STANDARDS… THE JUDGES WERE JUST ANY PEOPLE, NO INTRODUCTION OR NOTHING AND DIDN’T NO WHAT THEY WERE LOOKING FOR… THERE WAS A WHOLE LEAP OF AFRICAN MEN PERVING OVER THE GIRLS IN THEIR BIKKINI’S (THEY HAD NO MEANS OF BEING THERE). THERE WAS A PARTICULAR GIRL WHO LOOKED LIKE SHE WOULD BE IN A MUSIC VIDEO BECOZ OF HER BIG BUTTY AND THE JUDGES WHERE GIVING HER PRAISE, THAT MADE ME BELIEVE THAT THEY WHERE LOOKING FOR TACKY VIDEO TYPE GIRLS AND NOT CLASSY SLENDER MODEL MATERIAL GIRLS, LIKE MYSELF AND ANOTHER GIRL THAT WAS THERE.
THEIR LOSS ANYWAY… THIS IS WHY AFRICANS AND BLACK PEOPLE NEVER GET RECOGNISED IN THE INDUSTRY COS BLACK PEOPLE… ESPECIAL AFRICANS LACK SPOTTING POTENTIAL, QUALITY AND UNIQUENESS… NEVER DOING BUSINESS WITH BLACK PEOPLE AGAIN… IVE JUST BEEN SIGNED BY A BRITISH MODEL AGENCY….. GOD IS GOOD… WHEN ONE DOOR SHUTS ANOTHER DOOR OPENS……
IF YOUR OWN PEOPLE DON’T EXCEPT YOU, TRY OTHERS
was it that bad:( i was planning on going to the NYC auditions.
dgi, please don’t let one person’s (or 1000 people’s for that matter) perception change your plans. I wasn’t in London, so I’m not speaking to Jenna’s feedback at all, but even if it’s disorganized, who is to say that you won’t be able to take something positive from the experience.
Good luck at the audition/casting call.
exactly! And if she was picked, would be be dissing the event so? Sore-loser I think she just is!
Please dgi, go to the NY audition, unless you have no confidence in yourself….
With jenna’s attitude, I wouldnt pick her either! Being a model is NOT all about having the ’so-called shape and thinking you are all that! Hasn’t she been watching America’s Next Top Model? Where Tyra dumps those that think they all dat, and have no time to take corrections and learn from them?
And Tocarra is a perfect example on ANTM that you DONT have to be skinny to make it as a model!
Enuff Said!
Nigerians are so disorganized
that aside,so u are the epitome of a model..pele o!slender n all abi?
anyway if you dont blow your own trumpet who will?
Jenna kan!London kan-lol
Haba… try not to make blanket statements about ‘black people’, especially since you happen to be one of them. Do you “LACK SPOTTING POTENTIAL, QUALITY AND UNIQUENESS”? No? Well, according to you, black people do, so you’re tarred with the same brush, my dear. How would you feel if someone said they’d never work with you just because you’re black? Sorry things went badly for you at this audition, and please accept my warmest congratulations on getting signed, I hope you have a great career with the ‘white people’.
You sound bitter…and why are you so negative towards Africa? I think you can comment on a lack of organisation without being vindictive towards anything black or African…”THIS IS WHY AFRICANS AND BLACK PEOPLE NEVER GET RECOGNISED IN THE INDUSTRY COS BLACK PEOPLE… ESPECIAL AFRICANS LACK SPOTTING POTENTIAL, QUALITY AND UNIQUENESS… NEVER DOING BUSINESS WITH BLACK PEOPLE AGAIN…”…that is just too much.
Exactly Olicious!!!
But on a serious note, I think this conversation about niaja girls in Nigeria vs those in the diaspora is quite silly. I always say that those who are looking for who they are better than are obviously losers. I know girls who “run things” everywhere in the world. I also know some wack girls. The thing should just be that u are a great person no matter where u are. Lets stop this loser mentality and hope that they get great girls and the show is well produced.
case closed!
Well said cee cee!
Eyaa, sweetie don’t give yourself a cardiac o! I am catching jokes here, you ought to do the same. BUT, we’ll still bring it sha.
As for all the other blurb about ‘ignorant’, ‘your type’, ‘posse’ lol, are you for real? It got to you that bad?
Banke you need to take a chill pill
yeah..catching jokes indeed..
jokes ON you “sweety”
adunni
Have the last word baby. It’s on me.
I really don’t get what the problem is with WANTM coming to scout girls in London and NY?? Aren’t girls of West African origin living outside west Africa allowed the opportunity of a lifetime as well???
Nigerians sha! Selfishness is not good its not always about us us us! Jeez! Open your arms and your mind a little! Even our very own Nnenna was on ANTM! And ANTM and the rest don’t need to go and scout in other places because majority of their citizens live in their country…y’all know a very ginormous portion of Nigerians live abroad…mostly in London and New York…..it’s all about giving everyone a fair chance..it doesn’t take anything away from the show at all
And Banke don’t mind them jare! Big ups to all the nig ladies in naija doing it big but ,Yes bbes in diaspora run tings! i speak for myself sha and no ceecee, its not cuz my parents managed to send me abroad or about d money we make…we jus do! lol
banke like everyone else has a right to their opinion. However, i do not think its not necessary to go scout for girls in other locations..If anyone in anywhere in d world is west african they should come to west africa for the auditions
While i am a naija girl in the diaspora..i really want to know how ‘we’ run things. Is it because we were sent abroad?does that make us better?or because of our newly acquired accents? if we run things, then why do we need to come to naija to run the things..we can as well stay in jand, yankee or wherever and run things..why do we run home every xmas to come and have fun!
Nowt to do with accents, westernisation or association with caucasians or the like really. I don’t know why everyone automatically thinks of those things… complex maybe? To me sha, it’s a bit like an northerner saying northern girls are the hottest in Naij and being called a tribalist. When ol boy is just stating facts from his POV.
Do you really go to Naij every xmas to have fun? I don’t. Far too many other places to be explored…
Ceecee never said anything about parents or money abeg!!!
@ Dami as u say a big proportion of nigerians live outside in london n NY but is this show not abt the whole of west africa?i beleive there’s other countries involved in that n if u’re not too sure refer to ur geography notes………
ps: was against everyone dissing Banke at first but she has shown that she is in fact a RAZZ fool…
Gbenu e! See your mouth like ‘Razz fool’. So-lo-cal! Feeling like a star… Anywayz. once a street girl, always…
Ahhhh! Exciting post. Again, D-girls will bring it and I will come back and tell you ‘I tol’ you so’.
lol
Adunni o!!Lol
i was going to reply to banke!but i see you have done that justice
run things sa-duh!stupid gal
Most of you on this site make me laugh. the reason they are going to NY and Jand to scout is to increase the drama factor. Look what just happened right here on the comment section between the people who think they “run things” because they live in jand and the Nigerians back home. Imagine what it will be like on the show with the different girls, the reason most reality shows do well is coz of the drama factor. Like ANTM here in USA, we will always remember the Bre’s, Jade’s and the Bianca’s.I personally look forward to the show premiere hopefully it is just as good and drama packed!
Exactly!! Just in a twinkle of on an eye, drama just sprung here. And that’s what would keep people watching the show.
I can’t wait for the show either!! I hope is double drama
Olicious!!lol..true talk
True dat.
See ‘Apprentice Africa’…they scouted for Africans all over the world, and we had tension and drama on the show!
That a franchised show is tagged with ‘Africa’ dont mean those Africans in Diaspora should not have a chance as well.
You would all be surprised the talent and creativity those living in Africa would give those that come in from Jand and Yankee! It is a Modeling Contest, not a jand or Yankee accent event…..and Africa is doing well when it comes to modeling and fashion these days anyway…
‘Bar a few’ means with ‘exception’ of a few. Before you start correcting someone’s English, be sure of what you are talking about. And you using the ‘blaadclat’ language and all that, aren’t you just the same as Banke. Hmphf!
Wherever they screen sha, I hope we get to see some clips. Bella, pwetty pwease.
