In Photos – The Wedding of Nafisa Yar’adua & Isa Yuguda

In early 2009, Katsina State woke up to pomp and pagentry as Nafisa Yar’Adua wed Mallam Isa Yuguda. According to the couple, they began traditional courtship about a year before when he visited Aso Rock to see the bride’s father, President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua on an official assignment. With blesssings from the bride’s parents, they began planning the wedding soon after. Nafisa joins the Yuguda family as the Governor’s 4th wife.

4th wife?why now?! fine girl like this…smells like an arranged wedding…are you trying to tell me that there were no other more suitable eligible bachelors?..im not trying to hate but things like this just make me wonder….nehow wishing them the very best in their new life together…And as for styl plus, why do they look unkempt..where have they been these dayz…

  • Lara March 25, 2009 at 9:41 pm

Mehn no one seems to be having fun at this wedding, pretty bride though

  • delilah March 25, 2009 at 11:01 pm

styl plus days are dead and gone..they look like there stuck in the past and zeal who i used to love just looks tacky! Sigh!

As for the bride…with a face like that, she could have done so much better than “4th wife” but hey, her choice and I guess there are other benefits for her family n such

  • tatafo! March 26, 2009 at 12:30 am

nice lace that most of the ladies wore. Nafisa didn’t crack half a smile, so sad.

  • bunz babe March 26, 2009 at 1:52 am

hmmmm d muslim faith says you can marry 4 wives only if you can love and treat all of them EQUALLY me thinks that is an impossible task lol….just saying

  • Chichi March 26, 2009 at 2:56 am

Pleaaaaaaaase what the hell is Zeal wearing?…LMAO!!!!!….Am kinda disappointed in Styl-plus…They look mad-razzzzzzzzzzz…lol…The bride’s lace is stunning….Lovely Pics!!…Bella darl..Luv ya!!

  • diva March 26, 2009 at 5:16 am

Yeah, i know the muslim religion entitles a man to a max of wives, still, I dont see how its possible that a president’s daughter would settle as a fourth wife..not even 2nd or 3rd, but 4th. Looks like the groom just wanted the prestige that comes with having a president’s daughter as one of his wives, and i hope Nafisa knows what she’s doing and wasnt forced into this. This is my subjective opinion on this issue

  • diva March 26, 2009 at 5:18 am

I missed out *4* btwn max and wives

  • S March 26, 2009 at 9:00 am

i didnt see d brides teeth in any of the pictures!!!! i wonder why?> she doesnt seem too happy or is it just me? but all d same i wish them a eer happy married life?

  • mary March 26, 2009 at 11:28 am

She smiles without her teeth showing, loads of people smile without their teeth showing and some with all their teeth on display ,no rules that teeth showing equates smile

  • Admirer March 26, 2009 at 11:48 am

Is it just me? But this Hausa caliphate pple are just too fine. Mehn, simple but classy. I mean check out their outfits and make-up. Size of wedding cakes. I know it is the presidency and then again it is all about organisation and planning. More to them

  • kelendra March 26, 2009 at 2:03 pm

I wish the bride especially all the best. 4th wife position cannot possibly be easy.

  • istidele March 26, 2009 at 3:19 pm

    I WONT HATE

  • Ummilolo March 26, 2009 at 3:39 pm

Thanks for the pics Bella. Spotted the person I wanted to see! The bride is pretty. I find that it all looks very conference-y-delegates’ formal gathering. I wish the pictures portrayed more all-incorporated fun. Many of the guests looked more pleased to be there than pleased for the bride/groom! lol (I had to say it). May Allah give them marital bliss

  • medodo March 26, 2009 at 5:30 pm

4th position mh dat must be a hud hell money or no money

  • S March 26, 2009 at 5:57 pm

Abeg! have u seen this girl smile when shes with her friends??

  • Qed March 26, 2009 at 8:30 pm

if our presidents daughter could be forced to marry(if it was forced), what does that say for our democracy in the 21st cent. plus seeing the crowd scares me as a nigerian about what truely the future holds for us, we cant let power be focused in the hands of a few espcially not because their parents whr F***** there 1st.
Aisha babagida irriates me has she ever worked 4 2secs and she runs an NGO: on what funds abeg?

    • Alexmode July 7, 2012 at 9:32 pm

Why don’t you try reading up on how Maryam started the NGO before bashing Aisha with baseless assumptions?

  • jo March 26, 2009 at 9:01 pm

u mean she’s only 21 – na wa — what do they feel the young kids…anyhoo – she’s radiant – the dude is equally goodlooking …so what is she’s 4th wife…abeg as long as she’s happy and he treats her right thats all that matters .

    • abeeda May 22, 2012 at 11:59 am

she is not 21 but around 28 or 29 when she got married

  • mary March 26, 2009 at 9:47 pm

Hmm I dont think we are on the same page? are you sure we are seeing the same pictures? or you have personal beef with the bride or is it the groom?

  • Musa Sadur March 27, 2009 at 2:38 am

This is Nigeria, anything can happen. Can you imagine the odd wedding, 4th wife, for a 21 yrs old girl.why will churches not bee full for miracles, i am sure the groom is 4times older that the bride, what will she be asking for God is 10yrs time, that is y adultery is on the increase, because that old guy can hardly satisfy the 1st wife, not to talk of the 4th, that need more romance as a girl.Mr Man are u are all your kids look like u,pls check is some dont look like ur house helpers, friends and driver.na true talk oh.Bella, thanks for the info.na mumu and wayo wedding.the hunter is about to be hunted.na me na me talk so.I shame for all of una for 9ja.May God help us all.

  • BRIDGET OTUBOR March 27, 2009 at 8:08 am

sorry to say, these girls are not forced to marry and be a 4th wife it their religion and that is the way they were brought up. Do you know sometimes these northerners pity us…..

  • Olangela March 27, 2009 at 2:43 pm

Wait a second… I’m reading the comments section and I had to go back and read the article. When it says governor’s 4th wife, I assumed this was his fourth marriage after 3 divorces. Ha! Now I’m clear what’s happening here! I won’t say a word for fear that I will be attacked because I am a westerner who is simply horrified at the idea that a young beauty like her is the 4th wife of that old man.

    I’ve already said too much…

    Viva la Naija…

  • Onisokuso March 27, 2009 at 2:49 pm

She shouldnt worry..by the time even viagra or cialis cant be of much help anymore to the groom..I will be there waiting to perform my calling.

  • Nike A March 27, 2009 at 3:38 pm

Total BS. It’s not like the woman looks like she is in the first flush of youth. How do you know that she is not a divorcee with two children in tow?? That’s how I saw IBB’s daughter marrying one of those Northern Governors and they put in there that this was her second or third marriage and it was the guy’s fifth!!! I myself bow for them sha!!!

  • Anya March 28, 2009 at 2:37 am

OMG, I know some of the girls at the party. Wow…small world…malo connection fa! And why is Maryam Babangida looking so skinny & stressed out? Hmm… Anyway, I wish them Happy Married Life. Kai…walahi, Nafisa needs to smile.

  • Oniduru March 28, 2009 at 8:20 pm

Mrs Abacha looks so depressed and her choice of colours look old school. Is she still paying for the sins she and her late husband committed? no sinner will go unpunished.

  • aosgrl March 29, 2009 at 8:45 pm

A lot of you assume a lot of things…

Why does Mariam B. Look so sickly. Dang i hope she’s okay oh.

    The Bride looks beautiful.

  • randommer March 30, 2009 at 3:56 am

  • damola March 31, 2009 at 12:49 am

  • Odie March 31, 2009 at 7:04 am

  • Ladi April 9, 2009 at 5:55 am

  • nneka April 11, 2009 at 12:09 pm

The president has many wives and children u think he will care if one marries a man wit three wives already. fatima if three or more people say maryyam is getting old and stressed out then thats the truth, no hating in this one.

  • mary April 11, 2009 at 1:24 pm

Just got what Ovation magazine covered of the same wedding everyone looked nice in their own pictures and it was really a week affair. Congrats to them

  • Chika Moses April 15, 2009 at 4:56 pm

SHE IS THE FOURTH WIFE??? WIFE NUMBER FOUR??? WTF??? That’s just ridiculous and laughable… the daughter of our Nation’s President playing fourth fiddle to some gross guy?! I’m slightly disgusted!

4th wife? chei!! na wa o n shes really pretty too

  • graomo April 28, 2009 at 12:50 pm

i feel terribly gutted that Yar’adua will not give his young daughter the privilege of being a first wife, it’s just absolutely disgusting as far as i am concerned, how will a man like yuguda be soo immoral as to take a young girl and marry as his FORTH wife, what is he still looking for, i hear his third wife is dying of cancer and all he can think of is marry again, truly atrocious, he definitely will marry again and again and will have loads of concubines, as far as i know, a man who can stick to one wife will always be out spilling his seed for anyone who cares, and as for yar’adua’s daughter, she’s pretty but definitely doesn’t know any better.

  • Mainasara Kurfi May 5, 2009 at 5:06 pm

Na wa for you woh! Wetin be your own if Nafisa became the 4th wife. No be husband she look for? Abeg make u na leave her alone.

  • Sugabelly May 5, 2009 at 7:19 pm

Please jo stop calling people “haters” you sound uneducated. Are you seriously suggesting that there are no similes you can use? O_o

  • webguy May 18, 2009 at 3:55 pm

I’m surprised everyone is only complaining about a young girl being made a fourth wife.
How do you explain a man as old as this marrying someone young enough to be his last daugher! And this coming from top people in government. I think Nigeria is in trouble. We are being ruled by illetrates and wicked people.

  • mo December 28, 2009 at 12:49 pm

A very beautiful girl…but she looks maybe 28, almost 30. I think she is an adult…her marriage is consensual so how am I to condemn it? But 4th? Na wa o. Well, may she find her happiness where it pleases her.

  • MICKY JANDON January 3, 2010 at 9:57 am

Do you want to tell me dat this girl had no boy friend b/4 getting married to an old man. Is it all about money or power? Its a great shame to humanity. So dis girl just abandoned her single boy friend. Is her family not capable of impowering this young man to be like them? What a shame to the president. This shows that the president dont ave any plan for the poor people of this country thats why he gave his daughter to a rich man in his administration. Shame to you all that supported this idea.

  • MICKY JANDON January 3, 2010 at 10:08 am

About Mariam Abacha, she has money to wear any type of designer she wants in this world. She is rich and her kids are rich. so those people gossiping of what she is wearing are making a great mistake. They are not of her class at all. The late Gen. Sani Abacha cannot be compared to any of the living former Heads of state, past and present presidents. I love and admire him. He his a strong man. I never got any thing during his regime so dont think dats why am praising him. So those gossipers should leave Mariam alone.

  • silva January 3, 2010 at 6:04 pm

    you are just ranting for notin…how do u know she had a b.f? abi u r d one….

  • Nnena January 4, 2010 at 4:15 am

Of course she has money to wear any designer–MORE LIKE WILL THE CLOTHES FIT HER??
And yeah she is rich, her kids are rich…MR OR MISS MUGU–YOU DO REALISE THAT MONEY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH CLASS BA?
OR YOU THINK MONEY,ESPECIALLY STOLEN WEALTH ,AUTOMATICALLY CONFERS CLASS ON PEOPLE?
MEN,I AM SORRY FOR YOUR WAY OF THINKING,AND SORRY FOR NAIJA IN GENERAL–WHEN THIEVES ARE HERO WORSHIPPED–NO WONDER OUR YOUTH HAVE THE GET RICH QUICK MENTALITY WHEN OUR LEADERS AND THEIR SEED ARE NO BETTER–
    MONKEY SEE,MONKEY DO KO?

And i take it as a PERSONAL INSULT TO CATEGORIZE THAT GOOGLE EYED BEAST CALLED ABACHA WITH THE LATE MURTALA MUHAMMED,AND OTHER FINE MEN IN UNIFORM WHO WENT BEFORE HIM–

    **PS**
You DO know that once someone ends a statement or includes something in their conversation to mean that they are not guilty of what people might automatically assume–more often than not they are right?
e.g “I never got any thing during his regime so dont think dats why am praising him.”

Yeah right–and i saw a pig flying a second ago–

  • maryam February 21, 2010 at 10:55 pm

  • Anya May 8, 2010 at 4:53 pm

This life is too short, one moment you see someone; the next moment they are gine forver. Maryam Babangida may the Lord keep you in His bossoms & may you rest in peace!

  • honesty May 10, 2010 at 7:19 pm

all the haters that are talking and condeming the wedding are just very narrow minded and is the reason why you are all wher u are right now, you always love to complain and say alot of things you are not sure about which is a big sin and why GOD is purnishing all of you and putting you in the place you are in right now. you just make up rumors or hear rumors and then start to talk how shalow, irresponsible and high level of illitracy. never say what you are not sure about. sorry to say but alot of Nigerians are brought up with stupidity, hate, anger and jealousy which is what is killing their hearts. thats why they say God judges you from your heart so dont question if you are wretched right now because you will probably do alot worse if you are in that possition and this goes to everybody.. stupid people that like to complain 2 much thats why you are not moving foward.

  • ThePoet July 21, 2010 at 1:50 am

“honesty” darling, God isn’t ‘purnishing’ anyone. Why would a beautiful young lady chose to be 4th in a man’s life (fifth if you count his mama)?

  • Calm down August 2, 2010 at 7:27 am

I really do not understand why nigerians claim that Fulani looks arab. I didn’t see any Arab looking person in the entire pictures.
    Anyway, nice couple.

  • kenora September 18, 2010 at 2:00 am
