Soyinka's Afro 1Their unique name ‘Soyinka’s Afro‘ is the first thing that grabs you…
And then the music – a fusion of HipHop, Electro Funk and Soul – hiptrounksoul intrigues you…
So who is Soyinka’s Afro?
They are a new musical group – the 2 members are Ajebutter 22 and Socialajebutterfly (taymii).
According to the duo, “We’ve always loved music from when we were little children, as time went on we realized we had some form of talents so we said why not. We formed in 2009 and made our first record weeks after we formed. The genre of music we do is a mix of what we listen to electro , hip hop , soul mixed with a little bit of shofro attitude”

And the story behind their unique name? The name Soyinka’s Afro came as a result of a phrase we used to say “some of these people like us the others are foes but we’ll keep growing like Soyinka’s Afro” plus we absolutely adore Wole Soyinka.

The first song is crap. The second one is better, but not by much. The girl needs to work on her delivery.

I actually disagree this is by far better than most of the new music i’ve heard out of Nigeria. The concept of the songs are original and the lyrics from the first song are really good. I absolutely love the second song but the girl does need to work on her delivery .

Gosh!! this is what happens to good songs, bad singers. Imagine what good vocals would do!!! they try though!!

      the songs are pretty cool.
but the second one is too cliche. *ahhhhh here i go again. lol*
but there are too many “hater” songs already out and they are all so similar. most of them are ghetto songs singing about their haters. lol
songs like the one girlicious came out with.
      yawn…
the beat was nice and i was feeling the flow but not the concept of the song.

lovely concept, the babe should work on steadying her voice, a bit more depth.

I personally think these guys got serious potential. They’re young right? If they got longevity, and finesse their flow, I will not be surprised if I see them on my TV screen doing big things!
