LDBD Introduces “The Divas: Freeing Your Inner Art”

On the BN Style page, we feature a host of designers, from the Industries greats, to the rising iconic brands and the fresh hopefuls. Lorenzo Duffle Bags Designs(LDBD), a brand started by an undergraduate is a very young fashion brand, and one we’ve taken an interest in in previous times.
The designer behind this brand, Lanre Aluko is out with a new collection tagged “The Divas: Freeing Your Inner Art”. This Spring/Summer 2011 collection is “based on freeing yourself and liberating your art from within” says Lanre.
With this collection, you witness growth in his artistry, he takes more of a dive with varied textures and styles. Although he sticks to his love for prints, however, with this collection he infuses bold mixes. The collection is likely to appeal to a much younger generation, individuals who are more embracing of risks and have bold adventurous styles.
This collection is definitely an improvement from his first; however, I will like to see consistency in finishing and fit; while the maxi dress and romper deliver in this category, the sweet-heart necklines pieces, need more work dedicated to a finesse finish. In addition, I look forward to a more cohesive collection with a clear visual narrative. Really loving the romper, and his edgy creative spark; way to go with transforming the patterned stripes of the “ghana-must-go” as we call it by giving it a unique LDBD spin!

funny how I actually love the blue dress! need less to say I didn’t even notice it was Ghana must go. Good job there LDBD!
It’s lovely, but it cracked me up a bit sha…….very creative!
Nawa 4 u sef, I didn’t even notice until u mentioned it, lol!
lol fancy going to a wedding in ghana must go buhahaaha
nice concept, very different
LOL! I didnt even notice it was Ghana Must Go until I read your comment. I had to scroll up to scrutinise…
no, no, no!
what type of art is this? lol@Ms.Jayee‘s comment.
the designs are really unique. i admire the creativity behind it. Kudos!!!!!
love love love it
i love the purple dress, the Ghana must go dress lol…kinda cool
Ah ahn…. its getting more ridiculous by the minute….. everybody must be “designer”..
You might be looking at it wrongly. With more designers, comes more competition and then the brands have to distinguish themselves or die off.
In that case, this one “died” before it even started……cos this is NOBODY’s competition….
wow hot and sexy designs. am liking them.
http://getnigeriajobs.blogspot.com/
two things I love …
I love the sleeves in the second pic and i loved the fact that they used a husky guy as a model …. when are gonna start with the full figured models in Nigeria …Ermmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
Husky guy is the designer..lol.
Oh wow …
You couldn’t pay me to wear a Ghana-Must-Go dress no matter how innovative it may seem lol but that’s just me!
I know there is pressure for new designers to release their clothing as soon as they can coz it almost feels like the season for welcoming new talent is fading and becoming boring perhaps but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE perfect your tailoring before you debut (referring mostly to the GMG dress and the 3rd set of photographs as well)
yyayyy Lanre and Ola u guys killled iiittt!!!
Is it the model’s figure or the design/tailoring? The bustiers looks wonky to me sha…
Err…..none of the above
noooooooooooooooo……..ewwh….poor designing…..u nid extra years in design skul!
LOL! Harsh much

An A for effort………….
i like the jump suit…thefirst picture
I dint even notice it was Ghana must go until i read the comments
You guys are really mean with the comments. I agree there is some more effort needed on the tailoring but overall its nice and creative use of materials and patterns. suport your own people.
That ghana-must-go dress na the mean thing, love it.
Needs to pay attention to details. The bust area especially plus the white shirt the male model is wearing, is it meant to stick out like that behind. D devil is in d details.
The play suit is the best, A** infact but the reest…hmmnn…
if a dress is made in ghana must go,its simply to exude creativity,it wont b worn to weddings like some “fashionistas ” r implying. helloooo dont we go to hair n fashion shows? the more dramatic n unique, the beta.ppl display their blatant ignorance wit their comments.its not to say the designs are d worlds best,,but hey,we could do more with something lik “dont stop improving on your designs’
d jumpsuit is HAWTTTTTTTTT while the ghana-must-go dress is simply HILARIOUS.nice
Hi BN, I’d like to know how to showcase some of my stuff too. What’s the process?
Hi, this is first time commenting.
Lanre’s designs are awful and horrid. He needs to STOP……..its disgusting, so is he “supposed” singing career. He needs to go to schools to perfect his skills if thats what he intends on doing in the future, but for now everything is absolute CRAP!!!!!!
