Pioneer Nigerian graphic artiste James “Abinibi” Alabi cooked up some celebrity caricatures.
So far, we have seen Terry G, Rita Dominic, Ali Baba, Funke Akindele & Julius Agwu - Abinibi has promised to deliver some more of these!
Our favourite so far is Terry G’s caricature.

All were done right except Rita Dominic.. WHAT? That doesn’t.. No.. Hers is not done well.. But since it’s better than anything I can make.. STill interesting. Funke’s own is my fav.. lol.. I have seen her make that face in a number of her movies. Razz chick! ! Jenifa mi.. Gbogbo Bigzz girl… I want her to be my “friendship” mehnn.. lol
My thoughts precisely. Jenifa’s own was so on point especially the sneer. That Rita Dominic doesn’t look like the Rita we see on TV sha oh. Good job Abinibi!

Well, I wouldn’t put it quite so harshly, but I agree with you…anybody with access to Photoshop can do this.
I mean, okay, you did it and had it posted on BN…I hope that is not what makes you a graphic designer! If you are indeed a pioneer, one would expect more original or talent-showcasing work. #mytwocents#
It’s either you guys are just pure beefers/haters or you don’t appreciate good effort. I’m not a photoshop artist but even if he took the guy 30secs to do something that people will appreciate then he deserves some kudos. In my own opinion you and Tiki are hating unnecessarily. It’s only in Nigeria that people hate you for doing what they haven’t done and hate more when people applaud you for even trying.
To Abinibi my advice is you keep up the good works. I’m sure you already have more fans than these. I like the caricatures except Rita’s.
I know Abinbi and have followed his works for over 4 years. I wouldn’t agree to the fact that he’s a pioneer graphic artist in Nigeria but the fact remains that he started much more earlier than some of us and the kind of experience he has in the industry is note worthy. However, i’m surprised that you find it easy to run him down here for no tangible reason when there’s a strong possibility you haven’t seen all of his works. To me, having seen most of his works, he could have done these caricatures in 30 minutes or lesser and that could be out of boredom or need to excite himself. Now if people see the images are like them, who are you to run him down!?
Funke did it for me. The guy should work better on that of Rita though. In all, nice concept.
I love what I see here. Nice works, he should do more for us to see.
