Chocolate City‘s DJ Caise, also of TheBeat99FM, introduced us to DRB Lasgidi earlier during the year.
DRB Lasgidi is a collective made up of 2 rappers, Fresh L (Ladi Ladinegan) & TeeZee (Teni Zaccheaus) and a singer, Boj (Bolaji Odojukan). The group’s style fuses afrobeat, Hip-Hop and R&B.
On “Toyin”, their DJ Caise produced single, DRB Lasgidi prove that they can meld their ethnicity into a playful, entertaining up-tempo song.

You make a very good point. There is definitely a lot of politics going on on these sites – especially notjustok.com. However, these boy’s definitely deserve this feature as they make good music. Listen to their stuff. Their privileged backgrounds are merely a plus. And let me also add; they didn’t just spring up from nowhere. They may be young , but they have been on their grind for years now.
DRB Lasgidi might be made up of rich youn nigerian boys that use their parents money to foreword their music career but so what! Their showcases music REAL music thats all that should matter!!

I agree with Tina and DRB Fan its obvious you are one of them. No one is saying its not real music but what is bella trying to portray? That if u have talent but no money or direct connection to them then they can’t post ur music up? Then in that case they should stop posting up music because it is all wrong, its doesn’t say well of the entertainment industry. Their fellow blog Notjustok is doing the same thing and its worse for them becaause they started tthis whole thing of helping the nigerian music industry online and promoting Nigerian music. Today if u r not a wizkid or MI it will take them weeks to upload ur music and that’s if they even do. I understand there’s a lot of crappy music out there but they can’t say they don’t know good music when they hear it. These blogs can do better
I think this Track Toyin showcases the groups talent and ability to be the next Best thing!. I appreciate real good music, and hands Down this Track is fun , chilled and a deffinate club banger. Its a fresh sound and I love the song! These boys have a Bright future ahead!!

The pic enticed me to listen to the song… brought up the image of a laidback song. Then I started to read the comments while listening to the song…. eh.. not fazed by it all. The song is good, period. I dont know about the politics involved here… I just know that I like this song.
