Year after Year, the Rhythm Unplugged show is always one of the most anticipated concerts with some of Nigeria’s top artistes and comedians performing live and this year’s edition was no different.
Hosted by Basketmouth, Bovi and Buchi, the 2012Â Rhythm Unplugged took place on Sunday 23rd December 2012 at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
There were musical performances by Tiwa Savage, Timaya, Seyi Shay, Wande Coal, P-Square, Waje, Lynxxx, Chuddy K, May D, Davido, Adewale Ayuba, Vector, Choc Boiz, E.M.E All Stars, Yemi Alade, Dammy Krane, Olamide, Sound Sultan, Efa and Omawumi, while AY, I Go Dye, Gordons, Seyi Law, Aleh Baba and Pencil, got every one laughing with their jokes.
So who rocked the stage? Apparently all the artistes except Nollywood star, Tonto Dikeh. The My Life, My Damage star, who was expected to perform her singles, didn’t eventually perform – Sorry pokolets.
BellaNaija Style was on the scene at the event and we have a review of how the attendees dressed for the event.

Nigerian women don’t understand beauty at all yet they spend so much on it. Nigerian women always look like ogbanjes because of their ugly hair and makeup. I thought they loved looking pretty because whatever they are doing to their hair and faces make them look like masquerades.
I dont understand. Is the whole idea of hair & makeup to make you look different from when you wake up/go to bed or to enhance your natural beauty?
you said it all
I’m sorry but makeup has various purposes, it’s not just to enhance your natural beauty. It’s an art and everyone has the right to create whatever on their faces, if you don’t like it…don’t judge. please put your picture up and let’s see if you look better than a masquerade (ojuju) …hiss .
You know, i don’t even have anything to say. im just weak. the only thing i see is WEAVES, WEAVES, WEAVES…the good, the bad and the ugly…well, mostly the ugly. y can’t girls just chill out a bit. The weave-mania is just too much!
i swear the thing crossed my mind and im female. Unfortunately dis epidemic wont stop anytime soon .
The weaves are so bad…there is a limit as to too much Brazilian hair…l am talking of the lady that has the horse hair…so Shameful…such a classy event but the guest hair is so shaggy and not CUTE.
very few people worked it for me, nigerian ladies wen wud u learn less is more, i liked vixen’s look and some other people, wth was eniola badmus wearin on her feet, and for the 1st time, AY’s wife looked terrible
em.. Tiwa now why didnt u package your up well?
@ Jia, i thought i would see a very ugly pix when i click on the picture u highlighted. she may not be looking all that, but the bashing is wayyy too much. Your points are exaggerated.
Just luv d fun nd entertainmntdat rythm unplugged brings every year all dis red carpet nonnense no concern me d guys dress better dan d ladies just see bovi simple nd cull nd i tnk tiwa savage shuld buy a push up bra nd ay wife shuld pls mellow down on long weave nd long shoe datz all for now
i am tired of commenting about these pictures over and over but @BELLANAIJA wat happened to the word of the day i looked forward to that everyweek.
Thank God Tonto did not perform to me she would have been a laughing stock. she still need to work on her acting and leave the music industry for now.
@BELLANAIJA wat happened to the word of the day. all these people with their horrible dressing maybe their mirror is different from mine. i don’t understand.
There’s nothing wrong with wearinf weaves but seriously this society chics need to take it down a thousand. I know you guys want to show you can afford to buy a thousand packs of malaysian hair but wearing them all at once just takes away from its beauty. And no i’m not hating, just concerned
Thank you jare! When you see some weaves down to a girl’s waist you just think GTFOH!
i meant ‘these’
Came to see one person….Tiwa Sausage….love her to pieces
TIWA SAUSAGE!!!! Hahahaha I thought I coined that term. Good one though
With that kind of hair, i seriously doubt the much flaunted love AY has for his wife. How can you allow your wife leave the house with that kind of load on her head? Migraine pills will be a constant companion, all in the name of fashion!!
Byrmo should always perform shirtless……am feeling the boy
I concur!!
As in I had to scroll back up and stare at that picture for an extra 20 secs….damn!
This is a real double-u-tee-ef
I shall return for the fashion critiques….lol… BN pls watch how u post ur stamp on photos. @ tyms its obstructive
Now this was a show…..OMG I had so much fun !!!!

Ugonna emeruo looked fab!!!!!!gorgeous!
I think people should learn a little from this lady http://bellanaija.cdn.premiumhost.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/IMG_5584.jpg
Wear tights if you’re not sure of your legs! Arrgh I’m tired of seeing ladies with spots all over their legs and yet they wear very short outfit
I agree with you on the spotty legs. If you have too much cellulite on your thighs, please AVOID short clothes. All I see is cellulite and weaves!
I luv AY n Mable…so cute together! I really dig their colour co-ordination…sweeetttttttt
please isnt that the famous INSTAGRAM ellacandie.. if yes omo yen worwor
Weave upon weave upon weave. Why are Nigerian girls averse to their own hair. Even if you rock a weave must it be 100 inches ,and must it look stupidly fake? ridiculous.com
Hahahaha….Eniola Badmus…..LWKMD! Why oooh why?
whatsup with the whole “Tonto dikeh didnt perform but”…..that’s sounds like throwing shade at her but I hope is not what i’m thinking because i’m pretty sure Bella Naija knows better that….anywho it seems like a pretty interesting event
Na wa o! so so celluloids legs i see everywhere….. is it by force to wear short dresses?
Is wearing white/cream/beige tights the new thing in naija?pls stick to simple black tights or nude tights that blends with your skin complexion….Anyways all I saw in the above gallery was hair, hair and more hair, damn!i don’t even know how these girls wear so much hair in the stifling naija heat!
i tire for all these weaves ooooo
http://bellanaija.cdn.premiumhost.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/IMG_5584.jpg Im feeling dis babe…..simple and nice!!
Eniola Badmus…..hmmmmmmmm! me i no feel your slippers and Nails oo! must you use this very colour of Nail polish that makes your nails look dirty? i tireooooooo!

Baddest Babes, they look like people you wouldn’t dare anger hehe
Wow
the girl in the blue polka dot dress. LOVE IT~
Don’t worry about how I look. I’m that chic. *Struts on runway and flips real hair*
I understand that people wear makeup for various reasons. Fela’s women wore their makeup a certain way because they were artistic. It will make sense if these women attended this concert after performing as masquerades at a festival/carnival… and had no time to clean their makeup. But I doubt it. They think these excess things on their faces and heads are cute.
I don’t get why beautiful Nigerian women who clearly want to be sexy/pretty in their peplum/ tight dresses will choose to wear such makeup and wear extra layers of 18 inches weaves. All I’m saying is that Nigerian women can wear makeup & weaves without looking scary. We should learn to look refined and feel more confident in less superficial things.
What shame to all this generation of people in picture one put on Nigerian dress only one among them. Our women want to be like western women. why can have our unique identity, the authentic Africa dress. Why everything have to be too westernize. This a great treat to our African culture and core value. Where is hair style like Suku, Gbaro, Ipako elede and many more. A we going to let all great culture die away. Many of the fake hair our women wear is a multi billion dollars industry, that is control by Korean and Indian. Why can we promote our own culture. What legacy a we living behind for the next generation. The evolution of this fake hair, come has a result of racism that our people face in America. When they arrived to new world they were so dehumanize, that the idea of hair come up, so that they can accepted in American society. But up till this moment they racism is still alive. Let form our own unique identity. Because when culture lost, people were lost too.
Please a round of applause for these two young ladies who dressed like human beings and not aliens and look like they came out for a music CONCERT http://bellanaija.cdn.premiumhost.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/IMG_5473.jpg As in, i get confused sometimes!
alll i see is fake gals, ugly legs n donkey hair
People look dull. Maybe its the lighting.
