Must See Looks
Nigerian songstress Waje hit the 2012 MMR black carpet in a floor length dark green long sleeve dress with a thigh high slit. The I Wish singer, who is starring in a movie alongside Nse Ikpe-Etim, accessorized with drop earrings, a gold belt and shoes. A sleek packed hair completed her look.

What’s not to love about Eku Edewor’s printed-trousers suit? Printed suits are a big trend on the pre-fall 2013-2014 runway shows. Looking very much like a fashionista in this outfit, the Studio 53 Extra co-host let her blond locks down and opted for minimal make-up. She accessorized with black heels, a gold wrist watch and a fancy brown tote.

More of this look in 2013 Eku.

Ugonna Omeruo stunned on the 2012 MMR black carpet in a graphic blue print midi dress. The Nigerian designer accessorized her outfit with a black fascinator with pink feathers, a pink clutch and black pumps. Some of you may say this outfit would be more appropriate for a Polo match  but Ugonna was simply telling us it was a music and FASHION event.

Is it just us or this is Efya‘s best look yet. The Ghanaian sensation arrived at the 2012 MMR red carpet in red elbow-sleeve top with a long print skirt which features a slit. We love the way she added an edge to the dress by opting for gold-fringed earrings and a pair of gold and black metallic heels.

BN Red Carpet Fab - Efya - 2012 Music Meets Runway - BellaNaija

Call us crazy but Genevieve Nnaji‘s one-shoulder print dress is one of our favourite looks on the 2012 MMR black carpet. Sporting an afro, the 33 year old Nollywood star accessorized with gold hoop earrings, silver bracelets, a Chanel clutch – (Yes Chanel, no need to roll your eyes) – and a pair of dark blue pumps.

BN Red Carpet Fab - Genevieve Nnaji - 2012 Music Meets Runway - BellaNaija

Femi Atilade arrived at the 2012 MMR in a red flared mini dress. She accessorized the dress which features a plunging neckline covered with sheer yoke, with diamond drop earrings, a gold spiked belt, gold bracelet, an embellished clutch and studded red heels.

What’s your take on her risque dress? Red Hot or Red Not

BN Red Carpet Fab - Femi Atilade - 2012 Music Meets Runway - BellaNaija

So you’re probably wondering why Dammy Krane made this must see look list? Our reason is simply because he’s sporting the same shades Burna Boy is always seen wearing. Plus don’t you just like his colorful shirt.

BN Red Carpet Fab - 2012 Music Meets Runway - BellaNaija 04

Toni Tones was also one to see on the 2012 MMR black carpet. The celebrity photographer/Mavinbot known for her racy dress choices (Taking cue from the FAB Night Out) donned a very edgy black dress featuring a cut-out in the hip area. She accessorized with a gold necklace and ring. Her bangs and yellow pumps did her look justice.

BN Red Carpet Fab - Toni Tones - 2012 Music Meets Runway - BellaNaija

Fashion designer Toyin Lawani rocked a black leather long sleeve dress to the 2012 MMR but it’s her statement neck piece that makes this look a must see. Diamond stud earrings, a gold ring and pair of red peep-toes completed her fierce look.

BN Red Carpet Fab - Toyin Lawani - 2012 Music Meets Runway - BellaNaija

Wunmi Bakare‘s indigo top and matching skirt with floral print detail is also a must see look. She accessorized her dress with drop earrings, gold earrings and bracelets.

Wunmi Bakare

Tolu Onabanjo looked uber cute in a tri-coloured (pink, blue and orange)lace mini-dress. She accessorized with an orange clutch, a light brown bow-tie heels and a statement gold neck piece that went well with her wavy locks.
BN Red Carpet Fab - Tolu - 2012 Music Meets Runway - BellaNaija

This MMR guest was draped in a leopard print long sleeve floor length dress, this lady accessorized her outfit with pink statement necklace and ring, gold earrings and ivory clutch. We also like that she opted for a sleek up-do.

BN Red Carpet Fab - 2012 Music Meets Runway - BellaNaija

Who’s this girl? Rocking a midi light brown dress, this 2012 MMR black carpet stunner accessorized with a pair of red pumps and gold wrist watch.  She kept the look young and fresh with her pixie hair cut.

Can anyone please identify these two girls and tell them that BellaNaija Style says they look great.

TV presenter Yvonne ‘Vixen” Ekwere brought her inner Rock and Roll persona to the 2012 MMR black carpet in an edgy black mini dress.  She accessorized with gold necklace, bracelets, rings and peep-toe sandals.

Media personality Toke Makinwa was also one to see. Also spotted in a black mini dress, she accessorized with gold hoop earrings and a zebra clutch and shoes. We are guessing for her hair, she had the famous Disney movie line “Rapunzel, Rapunzel let down your hair” in mind, right?

Pop of Colors
Ok we have to admit there are so many colours going on with Temi Dollface’s outfit. We have purple, yellow, green, orange and black but we like the pop of colors combination. Her pink floral sandals completed her look.

TV presenter Stephanie Coker’s canary yellow long sleeve dress was a sure delight on the black carpet. She accessorized with a silver statement neckpiece and earring. We really wish she opted for a pair of red pumps for a more fierce pop of colour look rather than her cream pumps.

Elohor Aisien opted for a blue long sleeve wrap dress. Her colorful outfit was accessorized with a silver bracelet, an ivory clutch and purple peep-toes .

What do you think? Trend Alert
Personally I think the only guy who can rock Khaki pants well is Kanye West. At the 2012 MMR carpet this gent opted for the famous pants. His look was completed with a sweater, shades and brown shoes. What do you think of his look?

BN Red Carpet Fab_ 2012 Music Meets Runway - BellaNaija169

Well design labels like Ermenegildo Zegna, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton and Burberry all presented their latest 2013 Fall/Winter) menswear collections with man handbags. Our style team has spotted a few celebrities including TV star Efe Tommy embracing the trend and at the 2012 MMR this man spotted in Ankara pants, black round neck shirt and a tribal cap, also carried a man hand bag.

So, Yay or Nay to this trend?

BN Red Carpet Fab_ 2012 Music Meets Runway - BellaNaija018

PR Executive Moriam Musa looked casual fab in her white top and red pants but it was her head accessory that got the BN style team talking. We all know pregnant TV star Kim Kardashian and Naeto C’s wife Nicole Chukwueke both head pieces on their wedding days but do you think it is a trend for our everyday lives?

Eku looks fabulous, but the rest ….. typically overdressed with too much makeup, Weave and accessories.

help me ask them o!! 1 thing i know is as long as naija girls are breathing on this planet then the 60 inches brazilian market can never die, as in what is it? kilode!!! no one stands out anymore, everyone looks the same with seriously made up faces here and there, subtlety does not exist in their dictionary,na wah but i saw some nicely dressed ladies sha o and i must say naija girls sabi dress oh

      • Tincan January 25, 2013 at 5:41 PM

Funny how we all see different things. Nevermind what she wore, when I saw that pic, my first thought was ‘Father, please give me a belly like that’. Amen.

        • Jay January 26, 2013 at 6:37 AM

Lol me too. She looks very nice….heck they both look really nice. If you have a belly that flat you would flaunt it from time to time too

      • Wow January 26, 2013 at 5:32 PM

My thoughts exactly!!! It’s ok to flaunt flat tummy but when your pubic hair starts showing at the top of your skirt, then it’s time to pull up the skirt a bit. Jeez!!!

    • Dprodigaldaughter January 25, 2013 at 3:25 PM

This is the best red carpet yet.. (compared to 2012), and I’m loving it…. It’s funny how the most attractive ladies are the ladies who covered up!

Hmmm BN you won’t kill us with pictures o, you won’t. If that is your plan for 2013, it won’t work lol.
First of all, three words: HAIR OF LIFE! Ahn ahn! Naija babes are taking this human hair thing too seriously o, so much that I’m beginning to wonder if there are any women in Brazil or Peru who aren’t bald!
Toke darling, I love you to bits. But that weave has been on your head since last year (except when you spotted the short hair for a little bit). I love you hun, but it’s time for it to go. Or better still, color it black. That way, no one knows it’s the same exact weave. I’m just saying because I know these weaves can be uber expensive and a girl needs to save money! *kisses*
Stephanie Coker, the yellow is on point!
Naeto C, that shirt though…but I still gat love for ya!

Tolu Onabanjo, I NEED YOUR DRESS! BN, please hook a sister up with details…
The gentleman carrying a clutch, lemme leave you matter for BN readers to address.

So many pictures to comment on sha…but I think y’all will speak my mind so lemme sit back and read lol
      Love you, BN! :)

    • Madam the Madam January 25, 2013 at 3:36 PM

Out of all the well dressed people at this event, you put Waje, Efya and all those misc individuals in the “Must see” list? The only 2 people that even remotely wowed me in that category were Eku and Ugonna. Y’all need to advice Waje to get a stylist or somebody that can help her pick out clothes are fit her body. I think she has a lot of potential, but just tends to wear clothes that do absolutely nothing to flatter her shape.

Also, why do you guys always insist on stating Genevieve’s age? I’ve noticed that BN constantly addresses her as “the 33 year old…”. Just trying to understand your point here.

Toni Tones needs to work on her facial expressions. I understand that she’s trying to look “fierce” but just comes across as looking constipated to me.
The girl in the leopard dress under “Must see” is Ugochi Ezeala.

      That said…
I wonder where the heck Naeto C thought he was going to dressed like that.
I like Chidynma’s look. Very casual chic.
I have a style crush on Temi Dollface. Pretty much everybody in the “Pop of colors” category looked really nice.
I like seeing this Lola OJ chick on red carpets. She is simple with it, but very chic in my opinion.

      • Mz Socially Awkward... January 25, 2013 at 11:30 PM

Lola OJ was on fire when she was rocking blue hair last year… I’d love to see her take new risks this year

    • sona January 25, 2013 at 3:47 PM

Ok.. Nice I think a dress code should be made appropriately for these events…. For example since this is a music meets run way show which is similar to the victoria secret angel show.. Then a classy theme should be expected.. That’s like cocktail drresses or even suits.. Instead of having some people dress like its d oscars while some others dress like they are belly dancers.. And this will help fashion watchers decide on d best dressed dince we would be aware of what is epected at these events as regards dressing..

      • Bukky January 25, 2013 at 4:40 PM

variety is the spice of life o jare! and did the organizers tell you they were going for the Victoria secret show look?

    • Anonymouzly January 25, 2013 at 4:25 PM

I’m a bit surprised that no one addressed Toyin Lawani’s outfit. Call me a prude but COME ON!!!!! She needs to do one of the following things in future:

      1. Wear a dress that permits her to wear a bra AND not use a ridiculous necklace to draw attention to her neck and face…people will still see your nipples!!!

      2. Buy one of those demure petal nudist accessories ( i forget what they are called) to cover up her nipples so that instead of being able to trace her areolas with the use of tracing paper, all we’ll see are little petals.

      3. Line the dress before hand with either black, flesh coloured, or shiny gold chiffon so that even when she chooses to go BRA -less and squish her puppies together, she can still keep people guessing

LESS is often MORE…rant done :)

please Nigerian Girls, stay away from Hydroquinone. It’s been linked to leukemia. please google it and you”d find studies by various leading researchers on this. Secondly, I am putting together a bill for the Legislative to ban weaves in Nigeria!!! It’s too much now

    • Stella Kashmoney January 25, 2013 at 5:15 PM

I am loving Genevieve’s and Toke’s look. Spot on.

Most people got it right. Now back to my fave subject. Do something about your hair to complete your look. hair hair hair

    • Babydee January 25, 2013 at 6:46 PM

All i want to know is this; biko heat no dey worry una? As in all those with long sleeves from top to bottom. Especially that madam wearing the leopard print long sleeve dress. Goodness gracious at the outpouring of sweat underneath that dress……………..

      • zeella January 26, 2013 at 1:53 AM

    • Henna January 25, 2013 at 7:35 PM

some of you guys need to stop hating and being rude on a public website. calling people out is unnecessary.

Overall I thought this was a lovely event.

    • dimma1 January 25, 2013 at 7:41 PM

Eku Edewor and Wunmi Bakare did it for me.

    • Nnenna January 25, 2013 at 8:05 PM

WOW! Did some people look at themselves in the mirror BEFORE they left their houses? 90% of those pictured were “doing the absolute most” with their looks! Too much color, mismatched accessories and lawd ALL THAT DAMN WEAVE! Ughhhh! When will Nigerians learn that less REALLY is more?! Eku looks good minus the bag and over-long weave! Those that went with simple and elegant rocked it! Most of those that tried to be fierce e.g Toni Tones failed woefully! Some of the celebrities need to fire their stylists ASAP!

      • cindy January 29, 2013 at 4:40 PM

Eku’s weave wasn’t long.if you don’t like long weaves or weave in general how about you stop wearing it and let other adults decide what they want to do with their hair? how does another persons hairstyle affect you?? get a grip

    • Shar January 25, 2013 at 8:08 PM

Eku, Beverly Naya and Lola OJ are my faves! Gbemi Phillips! I just don’t understand, you fall my hand o

    • Onakachi January 25, 2013 at 8:48 PM

Is it just me or is Genevieve looking better by the day?

    • Cool car January 25, 2013 at 9:47 PM

abeg abeg abeg, genny looks ratched. this is a fashion event for pete’s sake. the dress is way too casual and some spanx would’ve helped. i like her simplicity but outfits should also be event specific.

toyin lawani, as innn nipples of life. how come her nipples are so big(sexy though), does boobs surgery do that?

don’t know why you guys keep bashing hair. if you can afford it, why not? and if you can’t please feel free to shave your head

    • Cynthia January 25, 2013 at 9:58 PM

I’m in love with you Genevieve .she is the only one I see, u exude some sort of grace and poise, can’t explain, I also love love your complexion.i for marry u dear, but I’m a girl.muah.

    • ChiChigurl January 25, 2013 at 10:29 PM

Gbemi Phillips is kinda cute I wonder if she’s that way inclined ;) but she needs to wear make up it’ll enhance her beauty more.

    • Toyin January 25, 2013 at 10:31 PM

Lola OJ is my favorite look, smile next time finebabe.
Linda Ikeji, you try but the two slits looks a bit tacky.
Genevieve, looks beautiful as usual(she can do no wrong even if she’s wearing rags).
      Milian Magase looks regal.
Na wa for Mabel Makun, she’s getting whiter and her weave is longer each time. She should just get a long one all the way to her butt. So typical of Nigerians and their backwardness.
Surprisely, almost everybody looked good. I’m really impressed. Naija women just need to tone it down regarding their hideous wigs/weaves and bleaching creams. After that, they will be fine.
Dami Dare is a cute girl, I like how simple and classy she kept it.

    • Remi January 25, 2013 at 10:32 PM

      EKU EDEWOR MAN!! loveesss it

Toyin lawani jst looks like -. I mean for a stylist, too tacky. wts on her neck? a bath mat?
Genevieve looks ok.. too basic though.
Naeto looks like hez trying to let the sweggu ooze by looking simple.. ok naeto but u look like a truck driver.
Gbemi phillips.. I love the way she dresses but she jst looked like she couldnt be bothered.
      Toke, Killed it.
May D. LOOOOOOOL dude. dnt even want to strt.
      LOLA OJ….WERK!!!

Its FASHION MEETS RUNWAY. some people look like its a beach party. Nigerians feel like they need to wear ankara this or ankara that with all their bellies(pls buy body shapers) hanging out to look fashionable!.

    • Lateh L January 25, 2013 at 10:53 PM

beautiful crowd … my mommy Genevieve is always on point on point … KC come n marry me now haba!

    • ant January 25, 2013 at 11:55 PM

I don’t even know where to start but I have come to always expect the same – excessive make-up, ridiculous clothes and just way too many weaves. All in all people seemed reasonably well dressed.
If the lady on the left in this picture (http://cdn.bellanaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/BN-Red-Carpet-Fab-2012-Music-Meets-Runway-BellaNaija-041.jpg) is Damilola -, then naija girls are in trouble. This girl was as dark skinned as they come o, I don’t know wetin she dey rub but this is MADNESS!!

    • Tayo January 26, 2013 at 12:18 AM

Dammy Krane and Toni Tones (Pharoah’s wife) need to quit…

    • poshilla! January 26, 2013 at 12:18 AM

OK !FIRST WHY IS NAETO C ALWAYS LOOKING SCRUFFY ,HE NEEDS A STYLIST ASAP1 ,GENEVIEVE LOOKED FAB,LOLA OJ HAS D BEST MAKE UP ,DEN MR MAY D -U NEED TO ADD SOME WEIGHT SO DAT WEN U POSE NEXT TIME IT LL FIT U,OH YES EKU’S SUIT IS D BEST I HAVE SEEN ON HER ! • Oyinda January 26, 2013 at 10:08 AM

All the babes look fantastic and beautiful. It’s only were people and ugly ones that hide behind their laptops n comment rubbish. What s wrong in using brazilian hair or whatever. Human hair is a common thing in western world nobody complains. Appreciate what you have they all look good. It’s d same ode people will salivate over beyonce, rihanna n white girls and Kim kardashians of this world. Post ur ugly bald pics n let’s see if u look half as fine as the babes on he pics. well said
this pictures are good except for just one or two bad poses and dresses.
there is nothing wrong with their weaves, they are only being abreast with global trends. if you feel they are too artificial and want to stand out please plait patewo or suku elewo.

good way to start 2013 not bad at all

    • Winny January 26, 2013 at 4:15 PM

Hehehehehe, some comments are so green and vile I can almost see the writers. Legs not moisturised enough?seriously? You hate so tay, na knee cap be your wahala. Some of you have never been to a regular event not to talk of a red carpet event. Haters will always remain in negligible oblivion!

    • morenike January 27, 2013 at 9:24 AM

soooooo much Eye Candy… I love Big Cats and I can Not Lie! Loving the full length leopard print dress, Tracy Nwapa’s copy of Rihanna’s Brown on Red leopard print, Femmie I see you looking as stunning and skinny as ever. Eku Edewor working those prints right, Ugonna’s hat ( I would steal it if I could) which brings me to Toyin Lawani: Hot or Hmmmmmmm!? (haven’t decided yet)

    • Shaniqua January 27, 2013 at 10:22 PM

    • Clover February 14, 2013 at 3:26 PM

I loved most of the pix. I’d however really prefer less weaves and someone to advice those who choose to show their legs. It’s not meant negatively but if you want to score 10/10 your complete outfit from head to toe must be perfect.

I’m awarding this gorgeous princess the first prize for the most beautiful legs at a fashion event 2013 http://cdn.bellanaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/BN-Red-Carpet-Fab_-2012-Music-Meets-Runway-BellaNaija021.jpg

Favourites: Wunmi : must have that dress
Efya: Colourful, lovely and classy at the same time. She looks like a butterfly
Ugonna: She takes the crown for perfectly combining class, elegance and a healthy touch of sexiness. I can’t stop staring at her pic.
Niyola: A gorgeous and well trained figure. Very outstanding character
Genevieve: It’s like you’re getting younger from day to day. Thank you for being such a wonderful inspiration. I love her complete outfit.

BN: thanks for the wonderful pix. I truly enjoyed them.
