Rest in Peace Nelson Mandela.

With his casket wrapped with a South Africa flag, citizens took to the streets to cheer and sing praises of the hero as he was being transported to the government’s Union Buildings.

      • aja December 11, 2013 at 3:57 PM

Death is not inevitable. Doesn’t make it an less sad! He was a hero and a role model to a lot of people so it’s only natural that he has a lot of mourners.

        Huh? Death is inevitable…
But that’s not why people cry.

Greatness is not all about how many cars parked in your parking lot, amount of looted money stashed away in banks, security aides ,instagram pictures flaunting cars, gold plated iphones, bottle of perfumes etc. Greatness is MADIBA. Naija politicians be true to yourself , conduct a self assessment and score yourself. RIP Great Man; a true example that a good name is better than silver, gold and diamond.

      Truly a National treasure. RESPECT!!

P:S: I see Robert Mugabe came to bid my uncle Madiba farewell. Hope this makes him reflect on the legacy he leaves behind when his own time is up…

I wonder if his burial site will be open or closed to public like Diana’s. I would love to pay my respect someday when I visit South Africa

And I keep thinking. Has there been any man in history being honoured like this at death, he was truly a great man. I’m proud to be African and I will continue to fight a cause of change, stability, empowerment and right thinking that can only be born out of love and a calm spirit.

You know Mama Graca Machel is the only woman in the world to this day who has had the honour of being a first lady of two countries Mozambique and South Africa one of my many role models God bless you mama for standing beside Madiba to the very end. And Mama Winnie too may God comfort you, you were there at the beginning and you too were there at the end. May God comfort the Mandela family at this trying time and sustain the spirit of togetherness in this family now that their patriarch is gone.
