FLY FASHION – LANRE DA SILVA-AJAYI
For the past year, I have started seriously luving Nigerian designers, clothing and accessories.
Nigerian designers have really stepped their game up. So I will be periodically featuring some top notch Nigerian designs along with pics……
Here is a recent fashion spread that was featured in True Love West Africa.
I love the whole nostalgic vintage look…..
Clothes by: Lanre Da Silva-Ajayi
Hats by: Tiwa Kehinde Benson @ The Hat Lounge
Model: Emifome Emede
Hair: Bobby Eke @ Bobby’s Signature
Make-up: Bayo Haastrup @ Ijade Egbin
Photographer: Yetunde Ayeni
Stylist: Omoyemi Akerele
Fun Fact: The spread was shot on location at King’s College, Lagos…….
Hmmmm….so that’s how it looks
What do you think? Fab? Fugly, overpriced and unwearable? Does KC really look like that?

Love the clothes…FAB just FAB!!!…True Love rocks….Usually some of the prices are a bit OTT because Mr Kasali my Isale Eko tailor can possibly reproduce the same outfit for less than half the published price.
But then again…i might just be a cheap- skate.
And yeah if i can remember as far back as the nineties in those secondary school days..lol!!! 🙂 that does look like KC main campus near TBS Lagos Island…not that i ever went there or anything 🙂

Totally in love with outdated stuff in general so this is right up my alley. Coincidentally, the afore mentioned designer designed my BFF’s wedding gown and it was quite lovely!
I saw the credits and noticed the absence of Tara or Banke Meshida taking credit for make up. Instead it was a “Bayo Haastrup” is he the next big thing? Do yo know?

LOL @ dimples! isn’t that what’s wrong with Nigeria though? the concepts are reasonably easy to reproduce so it’d have to take some form of brand loyalty (a la prada & gucci) for the average person to spend #100, 000 on one outfit. great entry. i don’t know how i feel about the clothes just yet…since everyone’s into “vintage” these days and all our sensibilities are turned upside down. in any case, the hats are pretty impressive.

That is truly KC…I can confirm fully as a KCOB…even the Rosa Parks bus must be KC’s molue. The scenes shown were the “shadows of death” in JSS1 and perhaps JSS2. In JSS3, God gave me the opportunity to make those scenes “the shadows of death” for others(JSS1 and JSS2 boys) but I declined…then God created a new scenery for the “shadows of death” in SSS1 at the Annexe, Victoria Island.

@naijagal…i’ll check it out
@biodun….please I would luv to see ur Lanre Da-Silva Ajayi dress….
@solabaale….u make KC sound like some frat house
@parazone super bleach, I’m sure the wedding dress was toooo mad…Bayo Haastrup actually started doing makeup b4 Banke and Tara…he just focuses more on fashion show/editorial make-up instead of wedding and event makeup like banke and tara….
@adaure….I get the pics by what I call A&H….I am ADDICTED to naija mags..therefore I HARRASS people to send them to me….
@onada, omoyemi akerele came up wit the concept..she is a MAD stylist….she styles omotola these days, hence her improved looks
@Dammie, luv the mag/website….my friend, Corne… actually told me bout it….my email is [email protected]
