2Face, R Kelly, Amani, Fally Ipupa, Alikiba, 4X4, JK, Navio & Movaizhalene form supergroup ONE8 and release first single – “Hands Across the World”

ONE8 consists of the finest superstars on the African continent. Born from a simple idea and a small collaboration, the momentum of this project has turned it into a full-blown supergroup. ONE8 will release a single, but also a full album and DVD later this year. This long-term project was kicked into high gear when the artists flew into Chicago late last month to record ‘Hands Across the World’ with R. Kelly and his world class production team.

The final ONE8 line up has been confirmed as follows:
R Kelly – USA
2Face – Nigeria
Alikiba – Tanzania
Amani – Kenya
Fally Ipupa – DRC
4X4 – Ghana
JK – Zambia
Movaizhalene – Gabon
Navio – Uganda

R Kelly is part of One8.
Excerpt from the official press release:

Now Rockstar4000 and Sony Music Worldwide are proud to announce the last signing to the group – international mega-star R. Kelly and the release of the group’s first single”

    November 21, 2010 at 9:10 am

This song will most definitely be on replay. I hope Tuface notes the difference in his vocals on this song, and continues to raise the bar for other Nigerians *cough D’Prince, D’banj, etc.*

R.kelly in-spite of the controversy is still one of the best things that ever happened to the music world. Tu-baba love you to pieces, you represent naija well any day.”Ready” thank you for stating the obvious cuz i still dont understand the craze about D’banj(apart from the fact that he is a fine boy). This song is just so lovely, cant wait to play it in my car…

2 beautiful. Nice video outlay and i hope this is time for our African music icons like 2 Baba and others be given a chance to show to the whole world that our time has finally come. The likes of Sony entertainment and other big record labels should have a rethink in signing this great voices from Africa a chance to be on the global arena. Well done 2Face. 2baba 2 much. 1 luv.

I am in no way ‘hating’ but I find the song cheesy and expecte, it’s really cliche. I also think it sounds very unAfrican/foreign. I love the pan-African concept but r Kelly eirks me, I don’t care that he wasn’t convicted. He, unfortunately, sucks out the credibility from the group.

  19. Tostos

    November 22, 2010 at 12:15 pm

    November 22, 2010 at 10:11 pm
